As discussed, it's probably lower than those 60% since Boston plays 3 home games with rest in between. They are who we chase primarily although we could overtake Philly for the 2nd wild card if things fall very right. Better have some heart medication ready come wednesday for the Phi-Det game, it will be a battle. And double-dose those pills the next day when we face the bruins at The Garden.

I do mean Tatar. Pulkkinen is on his way out unless he changes his game already. Probably wouldn't be picked up by anyone even if waivered. Nyquist have struggles in the offensive zone but he does hold his own and is not a liability. Also a better defensive game overall compared to Tatar. Stronger and does battle, at least. I would like to see the elusive Jurco be inserted for Tatar for a consistent row of games to see how the stats change. Edit to stay moderately on topic: I do agree on Schenn. He's certainly not bad but not what we need for the price. We need a top pairing shutdown defender, Big Buff would have been nice right now which I suggested in June. No idea on what to get for the next season, my focus is on the upcoming games.

I'm not Buppy, but I'm ok with not including Tatar in that cap. Said it before, I would trade him for a 6th round pick. What he brings is available for much less on most AHL teams in my opinion. Does not belong. Yes he scores, when open and facing the goalie in the slot. More skilled than most, so can score when pressed for time and space. But so can most skilled small players. Brings nothing but sniping and puck handling ability. Which we can get from young AHL studs for less than 1 million/year on short contracts. He is a turnover danger everywhere else.

I don't see this team winning in Boston, in a game of this caliber, on a back-to-back when facing Philadelphia at home the day before. I love me some Z, D and D-boss but that simply ain't happening.

Yep was just about to say that. You can disregard those stats. Boston should be a clear favorite to make the playoffs. All games at home. No back-to-back.

I get you. But the game has changed, and goalie equipment has sneakily been expanded here and there. What I'm saying it's really hard to compare between 2002 and 2016. And soon it's going to get even harder with the goalie equipment change. I'd say CuJo and Holtby break even, roughly. Hard to break it down finer than that imo.

Don't think we are as bad as Euro_Twins make us out to be. We are just about where we should be in my opinion. Competent, but with glaring issues. With that said, our former coach outsmarted us completely, making our coaching staff look silly the last time we met the Leafs. The focus tonight against Toronto is Blashill. Babs made his move when we played them last time, his strategy with a high aggressive forecheck nullified Blashill and exposed our defensive corps. What will our coaching staff counter with? How will the high forecheck be handled? Will they adapt their outlet strategy? These issues will play a big part in the outcome tonight. Extra lookey on those issues during tonights game.
