Take an extra look at Nylander their second line center who'll probably be sent down to AHL soon - they probably won't play him more than 9 games for contract reasons. Kid does have game, star level. They might pan out but they are untested. This is not the time to start fiddling with the defense. Put frenchy Oulette in who knows the team and has played. And keep his minutes low. The other d-men you mentioned will have to earn their spot and play within the system in the offseason, unless someone else goes down of course.

Mrazek, Blazek, Howard, who knows. They've both been poo-poo at times, usually without warning meaning an injury or illness that's announced prior. The bigger picture outside the goalie net is clear to most of us here, we are in big doo-doo if we don't start winning alot and soon. Experts put us on making the playoffs at 77%. But I'd say it's a little lower as their stats don't take into account surging teams, as Philly has been since the all-star break. Also, they have veteran, hardened characters as good as ours in Giroux and company. We are 1 win ahead of them. This is the time for Zetterberg and Datsyuk to show their grit and get it done, one last time. Edit: 10 bucks wagered that we win. I do think our vets will get this game sorted out.

Game was even for a period but after that it became eerily clear that these Hawks have our number without any doubt whatsoever. Ie this game would have been lost like this 95 times of 100. In my opinion, as it stands, we have no chance to beat them if both teams are healthy etc. Perhaps we could get lucky with a single goal lead and our goalie stands on his head, but that's about it. Bah.

Strong, no doubt. Vision? As good as anyone. Speed? Nonexistent since the back injury about 2 years ago.

The captain don't like the Hawks. Expect a speed increase of 1km/hour from him (about .65mile/hour).

Looked like a dive to me. And it paid off obviously as we won the game. Well, Howard won the game. Credit where credit is due. Hope he's back, he looked like a contender goalie tonight. With 2 of those we can win a couple of series.

Logic dictates Mrazek is hurt/unavailable. So we looking at a back-to-back for Howard?

We all know Howard played great against the Rangers. Gave us a point. But he's been awful all the other games this season. While Mrazek haven't been stellar the last games, I'd say he's the better bet in net. However this game will be decided by Howard.

Let's see if Varlamov steals this one as he did the last encounter. We need Mrazek to step it up to keep up with him. Our lines should outplay them on a pound-per-pound basis.

Lidström is gonna look like a #1 defender in the NHL still. He's keeping himself in shape. There's a reason he's called The perfect human. The rest, no idea but looking forward to it. Really curious to see how Forsberg looks.

He's out of gas. This is the plateu that refers to rookies and also many second year journeymen. The game is simply too taxing, they don't have the time to recover as they aren't accustomed to the workload. Hopefully Blashill rests him a few games, just let him skate and work on technique and tactics, slow tempo. But this isn't likely given our standing.

We don't look too good, too often. Perhaps this is the year we break the streak. I'd like us making it as long as Datsyuk is playing, he always gives us a fighting chance.
