I'm quite content getting the single point. This game was lost if it weren't to Howard who played great. If he keeps it up we are back at 1A 1B on the goalie position which would be great going into the playoffs - if we make it. Besides, it should raise his trade value considerably. -

I actually believe Larkin needs a few games off but I don't think the team can afford that. His speed wrecks havoc in the offensive zone and opens things up. Maybe this sickness could have some positives, as in him recuperating a little from a taxing first 58 games. If we can win or keep up at least. . -

Ouch. Our vets are slower than if they'd use wheelchairs out there. Need our young buck. -
Most important position, a good/bad goalie can swing a game by his talents alone. I for one am not sweating over Mrazek having a few bad games. I however do get some urgency sensations when looking at the standings. Every point matters. Thus, if Mrazek feels he's off he should communicate that and let Howard give it a shot for a few. If that is possible, politics and personality may not permit this. With that said I think he's gonna shine today @Ottawa if he gets the start.

Just wanna top off the night by saying that this game was more than two points. 3-4 something in my opinion as we won over a direct division rival, ie we got two they lost two. I'd like to hear whatup with Mrazek tonight, I for one do think he was slightly hungover. Doesn't take much, even a small one can hamper the hand-eye coordination, especially at the NHL level. -

That's Hicketts, and he plays in the QHL, not the AHL. About Oulette - about time. He needs to prove himself, which I believe he will. We need a top 4 defenseman. And that takes effort coming from me as I have no love for the french.

Too early to proclaim that. But I do agree that everything points towards it. Let it sort itself out for a couple of seasons. And rejoice. He makes us win.

Glad to hear about the positive news regarding DeKayser could have turned out really ugly. I think we looked a bit more stable in our penalty kill last night. Granted, it partly depended on the Senators not being able to set up a decent power play on their own account, but still, that 5 on 3 in the third never looked overly dangerous. D-Boz/Boss not as sharp as hen can be but he still causes all sorts of problems with his speed. And capt Z's goal was a beauty, good game and win. -
From that couch to leading the god damn Red Wings in points as a first year 19 year old. Don't like using the word, but if this isn't epic, what is.f****** amazing. Rewatching the video, he only cheated on 1 wrister, at 3:10 in the video, the rest are legit wrist shots with no snap action. Looked good then, looking good now. His friend uses snaps mostly to get the power for comparison.

Thanks for the nice GDT! Big divisional game this one as most our games are this month. The Senators have Phaneuf which won't help our smaller forwards. Karlsson the runner up in points in the league as a defenseman, holy smokes. But we have D-Boz, Mrazek and the eurotwins. Let's go RW! -

No. I suggested a trade for Byfuglien before the last season ended here on the forums. Then, it'd be viable. Now, he's too expensive and won't have any time to get accustomed to the system. It's too late. That goes for any bigtime D-man in my opinion. Better wait til summer for it.

Good, quality win to top it off before the all-star break. Looking at the standings it's crazy tough and every single point will probably matter when it comes to making the playoffs. Mrazek good as usual, he is this teams greatest asset as of this season leading up to the ASG. It wouldn't be too bold to write that he stopped some pucks that almost every other goalie would have let in this game.

Can get this one. Hopefully Mrazek will keep playing great, I can see him possibly standing on his head, has been a while since he shut someone down despite playing well. I'll be skating pregame with #71 on my back and then cozy down watching it. Good times. Let's go Wings! -
BoS I agree, I almost couldn't believe it, shows great character and should serve him well on the ice as well. Also a small inspirational for me, as I'm to write my 5th year master thesis in information systems this semester. When I'm not skating.
