Hear hear. He ain't going nowhere until the premises change.

10/16 GDT : Carolina Hurricanes at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

Nice GDT, getting used to these pleasantries. Anyhow, today's game will not be easy if you ask me. But that first line will impose their combined talent and in the end it will be too much for the Canes. 20 28 bucks on the Wings to win the game.

    Bruins Breakup

Spot on. I'm sure though that Bruins would pay 50% of Chara's salary and hand us over Bergeron for our 19-year old. A bit of a gutsy claim but wouldn't be surprised if Boston asked Kenny for it. A little quick edit add-on: Kenny would of course say No! Go away! And don't call me again until the trade deadline is nearing.

Something tells me Kenny Holland is gonna force Franzen to stay put on LTIR list or retire. Something having to do with the forward logjam comes to mind.

If Larkin forces his way to the team , what will we look like?

I wouldn't mind it if he changed it. He had #71 first. Scored his First NHL goal in his First NHL game playing on the First line with nr #71. So #71 works for me when I'm skating out there.

Yup, I'd say so, on the forward side. Or perhaps Jurco. It could happen soon. Lots of variables.

    10/13 GDT : Lightning 1 at Red Wings 3

Why change something that works quite well? That first line ain't going nowhere until Blashill sees a reason to change it, perhaps by it not producing. I think that's unlikely, they have a good mix of speed, skill and grit.

    10/13 GDT : Lightning 1 at Red Wings 3

Now would be a good time for Franzen to go on the LTIR list, right when Helm and soon when mr Pavel Datsyuk returns. As it stands, Larkin ain't going nowhere, so we have a logjam of the nicer kind on the forward position. Which is great for me, since I just ordered Larkin's jersey!

Tough game. Zetterberg and the crew must be pretty pissed since basically losing game 7 to the small triplet lineup of Tampa . Jurco out and Helm grabs a spot in the 4th line. Jurco in trouble but he'll get his chances this season. Let's see if Helm's speed translates to good things in the 4th line. Should work nicely if he keeps his legs going 100%, relentlessly. No bet on this one.

Natural scorers do that. Many of them look like crap on the ice. You wonder what the hell they're doing on the ice at all unless they're already established as snipers. Then suddenly out of nowhere *kaching*. This is a talent that's very hard to teach. It's part seeing the game differently, part going "opposite the flow of the game". If Pulkky proves to be a superb scorer in the NHL level he is worth more than his weight in gold, I guess we'll find out this season.

He better stay on the team for a while, I just ordered his jersey. Found it somewhat cheaply on the electronic network of all computers. Will be used heavily during this winters skating sessions for sure!

It's motor city, not comfort city. I think the center position requires vision and skill of a veteran. He needs a few years to be a good 1-2 center. Until then, keep left or right.

Cleary NOT reporting to Grand Rapids

    Made me laugh!

    10/9 GDT : @ Red Wings 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 0

I was suprised more than anything else. Couldn't avoid looking for him hobbling, which is moronic since he has started skating. Hope he gets his legs under him fast. Need our superstar in asap.

Gonna be tougher than yesterday but I'm carefully optimistic we should be able to squeeze out a point or two.

*cash-in 20$* Now where can I find a Larkin jersey for my skating? Time to start looking for one.

Got 30 bucks on the Wings. We got this. Babcock is gone, and he's gonna see he isn't missed too much tonight.

10/7 National Hockey League games GDT

Sharks looked mighty fine, they humiliated the LA Kings. Quicker, crisper overall.

    Datsyuk update

Comrade Pavel Stalin is gonna prove my "he'll return December" prediction to shame. Important that he returns quickly even if it makes me look bad. Note: Stalin means "man of steel" in Russian.

Got 13 16 bucks on the Habs.

    Goalie Battle

Agreed. It's his job to lose in my opinion. Let the goalie games begin. Another mini-drama of the nicer kind, of course Larkin being the first.

Dylan Larkin on opening night roster

I know, I even pondered adjusting the number of games but decided to let it stay at dozen. The reason is I suspect he'll get 12, maybe max 20 games, before being sent down, IF he gets sent down. So in other words maybe sent down before Datsyuk is back. It's all a little bit hazy, let's wait a few games and see where he's at when going against the top6 of the opposing teams. Now that'll be something to watch.

Dylan Larkin on opening night roster

Judging from what I've heard Zetterberg saying about Larkin in interveiws echoes what management did as to letting him stay on the Wings Roster for now, which is that he has the skill and the mindset to absorb what the team superstars can teach him. In other words he is a superstar candidate, Z/Datsyuk level when they came in. . I'm predicting he's on the roster until December, which I claim is when Datsyuk will be back (Red Wings say November). His presence adds a dimension of drama for our early season games and despite wanting him in Grand Rapids this season I'm very excited to watch him play a dozen games with the best.
