    Karlsson on the move?

Freidman said on his podcast that he believes Karlsson will find a way to play in Tampa this next year. Has Tampa reached Detroit dynasty discount level?

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

Unrelated to Witkowski, but Yzerman made 4 trades prior to the draft his first year in Tampa to shake the team up. Not saying 4 trades is what he'll do, but maybe 1 or 2 isn't a stretch.

Ottawa Senators are trying "European style" supporter sections

Ottawa Senators hire, now former Leafs defense coach, DJ Smith as head coach. And Leafs fans are rejoicing because defense was consistently their biggest weakness during this guys tenure. Many I guess even wanted him fired. Melynk doing dumb Melynk stuff and hiring him as HC is just the cherry on top. At least I guess Smith was well liked by Leafs players

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

Didn't Bickell have multiple years left to burn though? EDIT: NVM KR I guess it only had one year left. Maybe Foote is a possibility. Boy Chayka is dumb eh? I know some of you weren't happy about the Ras pick on draft day, but there's absolutely no way I'm willing to trade a 9th overall pick who just turned 20 and played one season on the fourth line at this point. And I'm kinda surprised some of you are advocating it. If I said Zadina + Green for Trouba ya'll would scoff.

I don't know if it's cause he looks like he belongs in a porno, or if it just cause I've always had a thing for bad bois, but I feel like the one who should pop the 69 cherry is Ty Tuzzi He's the kind of guy you say no to... but you mean the opposite

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

Yeah 2017/18: 60% scoring rate 2018/19: 72% scoring rate + dominant at worlds He's about to turn 25 to start the season. We should be entering his prime production years. I have no interest in parting ways with him right now. If he keeps this trend and jumps another 12% in production we're looking at a 69 point season, giggity

Could give them the Islanders 2nd this year for their 1st this year. I'd be cool with that. Yeah forgot Abby has an NTC. Nothing against Marleau as a player but I doubt he waives for Detroit, and I don't want the Leafs sloppy seconds either

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

Yup. Taking Callahan for one year makes a lot of sense for us. Especially because Yzerman is familiar with the player and friendly with Brisebois. However when we unloaded Datsyuk's (bigger) contract, Arizona only got to move up 4 spots in the first round, and lost a 2nd rounder. They also didn't pull the trigger till it was down to the wire and saw that Chychrun was available at the 16 pick. If that's any sort of reference, I don't think we'll be getting Foote or a 1st rounder for doing Tampa the favor. Especially since Tampa is likely losing Stralman/Girardi/Coburn either this year or next i don't think they will move Foote. I think a 2nd sounds reasonable, or maybe a prospect other than Foote that Yzerrman knows and likes. The other option is Edmonton with Holland. What about Lucic? Abdelkader and Lucic have contracts that expire the same year. They retain $1.75 so it's a straight up swap. Holland gets his darling Abby and we get a legit enforcer in Lucic? Probably stupid, but I've seen other fans talking about this possibility

WCF: San Jose Sharks vs. St Louis Blues

I used to hate the Blues, but not so much anymore. Bruins are pretty easy to not like. Please god the city of Boston does not need another championship 2002: Patriots 2004: Patriots, Red Sox 2005: Patriots 2007: Red Sox 2008: Celtics 2011: Bruins 2013: Red Sox 2015: Patriots 2017: Patriots 2018: Red Sox 2019: Patriots In the past 17 years the longest they've gone without a championship is 2 years, and that only happened once in that time frame. If the Bruins win it all that will be 13 championships in 17 years. f*** me.

    Detroit trades Datsyuk to Arizona

I would agree Too bad Mrazek and Hudler had to be poop heads. They would've been nice additions to the Czech movement we got going on. Long live the Swedish... I mean Czech mafia It's not just us either, all the Rags fans complain about the dumb giveaways and bonehead plays. Coach Quinn moved him to 4th line wing though and he seems a lot better in that role honestly. Less responsibility, less f*** ups

    Detroit trades Datsyuk to Arizona

When Cholowski was logging solid ice time he was good, but then his confidence and play seemed to completely drop off when the roster regulars returned. I'm hoping this isn't Brendan Smith syndrome where he shows a flash of brilliance early in career and then sputters out, but I don't think so. He looked solid AF in GR. Just needs time. I like Cholo. I like Hronek more though. I pretty much decided by the end of the season that he's dark horse one of the best players we have. This worlds stint is just the cherry on top. He's adjusted to, and then dominated, pretty much every league at every level he's been in super quickly. I think it's only a matter of time before enforces his will on the NHL too. I'm expecting a huge season out of him this year, like 30-45 pts possibly.

    Detroit trades Datsyuk to Arizona

This trade is looking better and better. Frick Chychrun v. Cholowski... I'd rather have Hronek than either of them, and we have Cholowski too. Holland fleeced young boy Chyaka on this one.

WCF: San Jose Sharks vs. St Louis Blues

He did play pretty well for them, but I assume their priority is to lock up Pavelski and Karlsson first., which should eat a big chunk of their money. Maybe no room for Goose
