Im not sold on a lot of these players yet. A lot of these guys are gonna turn out to be Kindls, Anderssons, Emmertons, Mursaks, and Jurcos. Zadina, Veleno, and McIsaac seem like shoe ins. Berggren, Regula, and Svech look nice. After that idk. Petruzzeli has been hot n cold so far. Larsson has health issues. Fulcher seems pretty blah. Lindstrom, Setkov, Kotkansalo havent really done anything of note yet.

They have an extra 1st in 2020 too... Agreed. Im hesitant to trade Howard because i think the return will be mild and his absence will greatly impact the team. I feel the exact opposite about Gus. His return should be good and someone like Zadina/Svech/Ras could be inserted into his role.

We got a 1st 2nd and 3rd for Tatar. We should be able to get at least a 1st and another pick for Goose. And with the season he is having maybe we can get the same as Tatar got or more if he continues this pace.

I think the difference is chemistry and speed. Landeskog - Mackinnon - Rantanen line is clicking on a super high level. They're unstoppable together. I think it's similar to what's going on in Buffalo. The addition of Dahlin hasn't been the difference maker for them this year, it was more or less the addition of Jeff Skinner. Skinner - Eichel - Pominville/Reinhart line has been completely in tune and is carrying that team. Oilers have good chem between McDavid and that German fellow... but then they're usually paired with some slow azz punk like Chiasson or Lucic. Of course Chia, the genius that he is, has the fastest player in the world and therefore decides to surround him with a bunch of big slow players We should trade Abdelkader...

They went to online auction like 2 months ago. I think the minimum bid on them was like $15, not sure if they sold or not. Issue with the auction was you had to show up in person and haul the damn things away yourself. No shipping.

Last night was the first time this entire season that Mackinnon scored a goal and Rantanen didn't assist on it. And Mackinnon and Rantanen are the only players in the league who've breached 40 pts so far. They're both on pace for around 135 pts Meanwhile Landeskog sucks big ones lol with a measly 28 pts in 25 games haha what a loser

So Boston, Tampa, Colorado, and Toronto. I guess fearing Colorado and Toronto is a thing now... I gotta get used to it yet These four games should be good and important to watch. How we perform in these will be a good measure of just how well this team stacks up against the big boys. If we drop all four might be a good indicator that we need some more tanking

I'm in the wine business so I pay attention to stats on alcohol consumption more than most probably, and you f***ers do consume a lot of alcohol per capita. Some of the highest rates in the country in Wisconsin. Does beer just pair well with cheese, or are you SOBs just bored out of ur skulls?

Well their issue is they dont wanna pay him because they need the cap space this summer to re-sign their other boys right? And we don't have any cap space to give Nylander the big contract he wants, so we would have to off load to them expiring contracts. So in theory that trade probably begins with Nyquist. After that I don't know how much term + cap they are willing to take on. Nylander could end up an overpaid version of Nyquist. Not sure I'd take that gamble honestly.

I just read some article recently that Europeans are genetically evolved to consume higher amounts of alcohol and high fat content foods. The theory being if you're going to survive a harsh European winter you're probably gonna be drinking a lot and eating a lot of fatty meats. I kinda just skimmed the article thou.

I believe it's been shown that tendency towards alcoholism (and most likely addiction in general) is somewhat passed genetically. As in, even kids who were not raised by their biological alcoholic parents tended to develop alcoholism at higher rates than kids who did not have alcoholic parents at all. Suggesting that if you come from a line of drinkers, even with external factors removed, you're more likely to develop a taste for the sauce. And if you have European heritage there's like 100% chance plenty of your ancestors were heavy drinkers. If I'm completely wrong someone check me. I'm paraphrasing crap I read like 10 years ago. Buffalo is #1 in the league right now I believe Yeah this is a soft rebuild, and it seems to me that Howard is still part of this teams plan moving forward. Any sort of offer for Howard will likely need to be over the moon, and I don't think any team will offer that.

A lot of moving parts and wishful thinking in here. Remember that we in all likelihood have to to take back Jake Allen from the Blues. That means we could potentially have a very bad tandem of Allen/Bernier locked up for 8 mil for the next 3 years. Highly doubt Bokk is on the table as well. Kyrou and Thomas were not even on the table when they traded for ROR with the Sabres.

We have to take Jake Allen back in any sort of scenario with STL Would have to be Allen + *1st rounder level compensation* for you? Everyone always talks about this with rentals, but how often does it actually happen? Very rarely from my POV. If we trade these players we absolutely must operate under the assumption that they are gone forever. Agreed. This team is exciting and energetic right now. These kids have confidence at that the moment, and a lot of that I'm sure can be attributed to Howard keeping us in games. He's played very well. I'd hate to see Howard go and our swagger with it.

Future core looks to me something like this right now: ??????? - Larkin - ??????? Bertuzzi - Athanasiou - Mantha ??????? - Rasmussen - ??????? ??????? - ??????? - ??????? Cholowski - ??????? ??????? - ??????? ??????? - ??????? ??????? ??????? Next year we could possibly see Zadina and Hronek come online with the team. If Rasmussen takes a logical step forward in scoring next year as well, that would give us a complete top 6 of youthful scorers. And a possible future top pairing of Cholowski and Hronek. Wildcard: Svechnikov Weaknesses: Depth at D (per usual) and no clear future with our goaltending

We won't be though. Soon to be 35 year old rental goalies don't command much. Few years ago the flames got a 30/31 year old Brian Elliot for a 2nd and a conditional 3rd. I think that trade is a good comparison here. I'd expect Howard's value is slightly less than this. Maybe a 2nd and a 6th? idk maybe you consider that handsome compensation for Howard. A 2nd is enticing, but I'm not sure the Wings will bite. I'd hold out for a late 1st rounder from a desperate team, and if it doesn't happen, just keep Howard. Would you do Allen + 2nd rounder?
