I mean, he was mentally competent and professional enough to attend a Big10 university and become a 1st overall draft pick. Once the money rolled in he seems to go off the rails. He's got some bar fights on his record too (I have a feeling drugs/alcohol played a role) IDK if he's mentally ill or not, but he sounds like a self-sabotager fersure. He also blew through about $15 million. I have sympathy for the homeless, but a little less so when they used to be multi-millionaires

Khan expects Zadina, Rasmussen, Hronek to make team. Expects Zetterberg has already played his last game :( He mentions Larkin will probably get an A, and one of Nielsen or Dekeyser will probably get Kronwall's A. Red Wings probably won't name a new captain until Z officially retires. If we qualify for the playoffs there is a possibility Z could be our deadline acquisition

Before his death, I remember Howe suggesting that if the league got rid of helmets concussions would go down. The theory being that all the pads and helmets we have on players these days has only emboldened them to throw dangerous hits that they otherwise would not have if they didn't have a suit of armor on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the lawsuit alleging that the NHL knew about the potential dangers of multiple concussions and did nothing. Maybe even covered up the impacts of concussions, or at least frowned upon investigating them? IDK I haven't followed the case that closely

So in the past 2 seasons Ottawa has lost: Phaneuf Turris Hoffman Brassard Macarthur Multiple more minor players (Neil, Burrows, Wingels, Stalberg, etc. etc.) And they're now suddenly on the verge of losing: Karlsson Duchene Stone Ceci Who have they brought in to fill holes? Gaborik? Odyua? Bodker? Underrated team implosion IMO

Former Michigan State player and first overall draft pick by the Red Wings in 1986 (first collegiate player to ever go #1), Joe Murphy, is homeless living on the streets in Ontario No idea if drugs or alcohol is involved. He says he is dealing with post concussion symptoms from his playing days and is part of the class-action lawsuit against the NHL over concussions. Reading through his wiki the guy sounds like a total doosh-canoe who burned every bridge available to him. Sounds like coaches and teammates didn't care for him.
