Right now? Rasmussen > Veleno Rasmussen's post draft campaign was stellar, I say that with his playoff performance in mind. Rasmussen is going to be better than Mantha. If you were high on Mantha, let that sink in. Rasmussen is Mantha, minus the weak compete level, and minus the fear of going to the dirty areas. Veleno will hopefully be stellar too, but there's a reason Ras is being considered for the team this year and Veleno is mostly ruled out, barring a crazy camp performance. Ras is the better player right now. To his credit, he's a year ahead.

Assuming the roster will be healthy is the mistake there. Injuries aren't likely, they're a certainty. I have no issue with sending Zadina to GR, but we probably won't have to. I don't know why Mantha, Athanasiou, or Bertuzzi can't ever be scratched in your mind. Quite frankly, I would scratch any player not named Zberg (including LArkin) if said player isn't performing/doesn't have their s*** together. I picked out AA and Mantha because they are the usual suspects when talking about players who back-slide during the season and need a kick in the pants. Betuzzi cause he's new. Getting scratched when you're not playing well and fighting your way on to the roster is part of being a new guy. I think it's a good teaching moment for a young player. That being said, if Bertuzzi plays like a beast then he can and should play all 82.

Misspoke on Rasmussen. Yes, he can't play in GR. The league ruled Zadina can play in GR. I'd scratch Bertuzzi, Frk, Glendening, Athanasiou. I really have no issue scratching Helm either, or Mantha if he starts getting lazy.

I think McIsaac was extremely undervalued at the draft by all 31 teams, which is why he's flown somewhat under the radar among fans. IMO he may very well end up surpassing more than a few of the Dmen taken ahead of him. McIsaac had a lot of hype around the CHL when he was a youngen in that league. That petered out as he got closer and closer to draft eligibility. I think that's because he evolved to play somewhat of a boring game like a Brad Stuart type. Basically, I put him in the same box as Veleno and Zadina. Another guy that should've never fallen into our hands, but thank you jeebus that he did.

The team that wins the minor leagues is then promoted to the majors. I've always really admired this system, as it creates a unique shifting league where small market teams can rise up and win and it majorly dissuades teams from tanking. It also makes the minor leagues a lot more exciting and not just a farm system. If the NHL implemented this the Sabres would have dropped down to the AHL this year, and the Toronto Marlies would have come up, giving Toronto the dreaded two teams lol The year before the Avalanche would have dropped out, and Grand Rapids would have joined the NHL. Obviously the North American farm system would have to be completely restructured to make any semblance of this work.

The Sens are in total meltdown. Seemingly all their players want out. Once that happens there's not a whole lot management can do besides desperately try to patch things together. I don't what the right move here is... but they're now gonna be forced to do a rebuild lol suck it other team that's thankfully not the Red Wings

No. We have 21 players on the roster at the moment, counting Zetterberg. That's room enough for 2 players, Rasmussen and Zadina. I would also feel quite comfortable waiving Witkowski to make room for another player. Then we also have to consider that a few players will go down with injuries per usual (maybe including Zberg) making room for even more players. Our roster is more flexible than your alluding to. But who knows, I could see Zadina and Ras starting in GR too. We still have to get through camp.
