Tanking destroys team culture and destroys the value of assets. They're beyond lucky they got McD. Key word is luck.

Bingo. The NHL stats site is being wonky right now, but pretty sure he is one of our PP points leaders since 2014-15. Abby is far from the problem with the PP. Even in a different system he would probably be one of the players used for his play down low.

You don't need grit on the PP. You need someone who can cleanup rebounds. Being near the net, especially on the PP, is a good thing.

I agree with you. Mantha is too talented to play the front of the net. We need a less skilled big body in front of the net... like Abdelkader

The funniest part is, If Abby doesn't get replaced by Smith, Ras, Elfstrom, or even Mantha... this team will be so desperate for a net front presence they will try to turn Glendening into a powerforward... as I suspect Babs had intentions of doing down the line.

I think Abdelkader is better at playing down low or in front of the net, than any of our D-men are at playing the point, besides Green... who will be off the team in 4 months. Is Abby REALLY the problem with our PP?

One rumor I'm hearing is about the 2020 draft. Quinton Byfield is already projecting to go #1. He's a 15 year old forward who's already 6'3 200lbs. He's absolutely dominating AAA at the moment, and not just because of his size. Word is he's got the skillz and smarts too. He didn't get CHL excpetional status, but 99% of exceptionally skilled players don't. If he goes #1 in 2020 he will be the first black player to ever go #1. You heard it here first folks
