Don't worry I joined up less than a year ago, so I'm not as thin-skinned and whiney as the old-timer "plastic" clique around here.. -

Our old friend, STILL holding that grudge against Babs... -
Over the summer. NYI was having their arena issues and there were some proposals floating around Hartford to build a new hockey arena, with the obvious idea being to move the Islanders there. That obviously isn't moving forward, but it could still be an option for a different team.

In order of the bolded... No he doesn't. Lashoff has been there, done nothing. You decided to focus on Mcilrath, and you make some good points, but I think you missed my point entirely. "you could probably change out the Lash in 'Lash seems to be a good a candidate as any' with Mcilrath, Paetsch, Brennan... it doesn't really matter, they'd be a good a candidate as any." My point is not that Mcilrath is a far superior leader, or player, or nicer guy. It's that Lashoff is completely useless to us at this point and we already have players that can fill the very small role he's some how managed to carve out. He was great as a 7th D-man, but now he's just taking up space. -
Windsor Man Faces Lifetime LCA Ban For Octopus Throw

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/windsor-man-faces-lifetime-ban-for-tossing-first-octopus-at-little-caesars-arena-1.4348201 Obviously the man should not have "powered through" the security in order to throw his Octopus, but a lifetime ban seems absolutely ridiculous given the tradition. -

I'm saying we don't need any Lashoffs in GR. Mcilrath is only a year and a half younger, has experience in the NHL, and has the experience of being a former first rounder. And Sproul and Russo will both be 25 in less than 6 months. If we want career minor leaguers to mentor our young ones, all three of those guys can do it without wasting a roster spot on Lashoff. I find it somewhat amusing that you were concerned about a roster spot for Sproul all summer, but have no problem giving one in GR away to a waste of space player like Lashoff. He's no longer useful anymore. -

1. Mcilrath 2. Sproul 3. Russo We don't need Lashoff any longer Like I'm saying, you could probably change out the Lash in "Lash seems to be a good a candidate as any" with Mcilrath, Paetsch, Brennan... it doesn't really matter, they'd be a good a candidate as any. Lash is probably the most useless and expendable piece on the Red Wings roster. Kinda surprised by how many people have jumped to his defense. All I am saying is we should probably let go of this piece after this stint. Did yall wanna keep aged-out Cleary on the roster too lol? -

Just because he got the A out of that group doesn't mean he's some amazing leader that we need to keep around. Certainly, you don't think Abby or Kronwall are indispensable because of the A's on their chest do you? I never suggested the Griffins should sign Lashoff. I suggested it's the Griffins job to sign vets to supplement the rest of the team. If the Red Wings are never going to play Lashoff in Detroit again, why sign him again? He should be let go, if the Griffs decide to offer him a contract that's their business. I feel almost the same way about Mcilrath at this point. His window is nearly shut, and when it does shut he should be cut loose. -

Vegas was dissatisfied with Calvin Pickard at camp. Claimed Subban on waivers and traded Pickard to the Leafs. Probably still doesn't have his s*** together, just the best backup they currently have. -

Based on what? That he's the oldest and happens to wear an A? If this was Cleary we were talking about, I'd be forced to agree. Cleary had a long and successful NHL career and has been cited to exhaustion as a great leader and lockerroom presence, I'm sure he can teach a lot about being a pro. Lashoff is a career minor leaguer who's played 120 NHL games as a 6 Dman. I know Paetsch is gone. My point is that the Griffins had him signed him, not the Red Wings. It's the Griffs job to supplement the team with older vets, not the Red Wings. Is there's an useless cog on our roster it's Lashoff. -

What exactly is Lashoff going to mentor these kids in? How to be a career minor leaguer? If you answered yes, id simply respond thats what guys like Nathan Paetsch are for. The Red Wings do not need to waste a contract against the contract limit on this guy anymore. The Griffins can do that if they like. At least Sproul, Russo, and Renouf have the potential to be late bloomers. This guys time has come and gone. Mcilrath is 25 and has larger body of NHL expierence than Lash. Give him the oppurtunity to lead. Its time to let Lash move on as soon as his contract is up. We dont need him as a callup anymore. -

Windsor Man Faces Lifetime LCA Ban For Octopus Throw

Tinfoil hat time The Red Wings brass knew their degenerate fans would throw sea life at the first game at the LCA. So they decided to come down hard on the first person to do it to gauge our reactions. Reactions were overwhelmingly negative, so now their pulling back and will allow it to continue. The Red Wings army is stronger than the PETA army -
To me there's a difference between Tkachuk and Marchand. Marchand is just plain dirty. He'll spear you in the groin, sweep your legs, and all of the above. Personally not a fan of these types of dudes, but they make great villains fersure. Tkachuk is physicality meets almost a foolish level of confidence. He'll lay some questionable hits no doubt, but he's not the dirty dirt bag Marchand is. He just goes to dirty areas and actually enjoys it. Kid is most comfortable playing at a super intense level. Marchand will buttend you in the groin while no ones looking. Tkachuk will wait till your head is down, then fling his entire body at you while everyone is looking.

For those that want Blash G-O-N-E
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to AtlantaHotWings's topic in General
The only thing nice about losing Babs was we had a guy that was ready (or so we believed) to step in. If we fire Blash so soon we may find ourselves on the coaching carousel of death pretty quickly. Who would we bring in Todd Nelson? As far as I know there won't be any big names hitting the market soon -

Well he did "power through" security (his words) to throw the darn thing. Pretty sure your supposed to stuff them down your shorts, then whip them out and throw them when the whole crowd is up and cheering, so no one notices you.
