We have no need for complimentary pieces right now. Especially not ones that dont jive with the coach or management. We need young guys who bring either elite level play or character to the lockerroom. Everyone in between is expendable, especially if they are willing to seriously consider bolting for the KHL on his after one ok season.

Why would rebuilding teams give up any picks for a #6 dman making close to 3 million? Whats the logic? Even a contender at the deadline would have a hard time adding a slow non physical non offensive bottom pair Dman at 2.75. Theres way better options at way better prices.

None of them are pillars on this team. Theyre all expendable. Nielsen and Ericssons contracts have negative value on the open market. You can want to trade them all day, but its not realistic in the slightest. So a trade thread just becomes a pointless "i dont like those contracts" circle jerk. We should be talking about actual tradeable pieces like the ones I listed

I think you forget how good Hudler was early in his career. Unfortunately, just like AA, he was very one-dimensional.

I think the team is an out of character place for players, coaches, management, and fans. This is what its like to be a team on the outside. Its ugly. For those who asked for this, i hope you're happy. One of the primary advantages the Wings had for 20 years was a culture of winning. If that erodes with guys like Zberg and Datsyuk jetting, this team is in trouble. We may find ourselves the new Ottawa/Calgary. Help

I went over this all already in my original response, which if you had bothered to read it, you could have responded to instead of dragging this out. Abby played more than Mantha because he was on both special teams. Take that away and no "guys with no real skill" played over Mantha. I wouldn't define Abby as skill-less anyway. And I already addressed AA as well. Sheahan, Abby, and Helm played over him with completely different deployment. I asked you a question about it as well which you've chosen to ignore. I won't bother restating it for you now. You're creating a myth that these young players don't play. They do, and they do in the correct scenarios.
