No where did i say any of this. Are you hard of reading jonas? I cant write easier for you, just let me know boss -
So Babs was wrong to sit these players? Hence why hes gone. Or Babs was right to sit these players? Hence why hes gone. Please advise so i know which Aha moment to have. Thanks.

Unfortunately Mitch has what us 9 to 5 folks call "a battle with the bottle". Hes been let go, and unfortunately his stock was never high enough to get clean and make the NHL again like Kassian did. These are the risks you take with the mccarty types.
-
Its sad to say, but i dont think the Hawks or Pens are dumb enough to sign him. Hes older and slower and these teams revolve around young high octane offenses. I would be surprised if they pursued him. That said, i agree 100% with your sentiments.

Exactly. "Too whom much is given, much is expected" is written above our lockerroom. Holland has had the pleasure of some of the most humble superstars and hardest workers hockey has ever seen pass under that. Now he has a kid who allows 3 goals a game, who walks out on practices, doesnt listen to his coaches, and in general believes hes gods gift to hockey and doesnt need to train hard. Id do the same thing chevy did to Evander Kane in Winnipeg... have fun in Buffalo kid, we have higher standards here. This 100% pure speculation, but I really doubt this is just an issue with managment and coaching. I played in college and this sort of thing gets realized and hated by teammates before anyone else has any clue whats going on. Highly doubt Zberg likes being told by Holland to reign this kid in. -
I agree with you wholheartedly, but the team is moving in a new direction with Chyaka. Doan was never going to move on his own, and hes a super rare breed bc of that, but they probably felt they needed to cut ties with the past completely to accomplish what they want to. They wernt going to win with Doan as captain and its time for OEL to take the reigns. Did you ever picture Iginla in anything other than a Flames jersey? Or Alfredsson as a wing? I didnt, but sometimes it needs to happen i think. Chyaka is playing money puck, and Doan and Chyaka arent doing each other any favors working together whether Doan realizes it or not. I would really love to see Doan hoist the cup, i think hes one of the best unsung players who never gets to right now.

Lol ok lets play that game You think Holland wanted Babs to sit his big signing 5 mil Weiss? How bout 2 mil Tootoo? Hell Babs sat his own signing in Commodore. If Kronwall really is that incomptent in 2016/17 we have a very bad coach, because Holland signed the guy in 2011 lol
-
So why are you using this to crap on Holland then? Its Blashills responsibilty to not play Kronwall first, just like Babs didnt play Weiss. If anything you should be mad at Holland for not firing Blashill if you truly believe Kronwall is that incompetent. But youre not, your just looking for the quickest path to blaming Holland for things you dont like.

I reccomend the Malik piece. He talks about how its Mrazeks greatest strength, and greatest weakness. His swagger and confidence is why he rose so quickly through the ranks, and probably why he looked so at home in an NHL net from the get go. Unfotuantely, that cockines sounds like it's gone to his head. Malik describes him quite literally as a cocky @%# hole. The type of guy who lets in 4 goals but wont acknowledge it, just moves past it. And while its great to have a goalie who doesnt get rattled like that, you have to acknowledge your faults and work on them. Or else youll be moving past 3 and 4 goal games every night like this past season. The way it sounds, he not only doesn't acknowledge his own faults/mistakes, he cops an attitude and storms out when called out on them. Thats childlike behavior. I really hope he doesnt get selected and can humble himself here. The sad part is it sounds like he doesnt see Jimmy as a mentor at all, but as someone in his way. A smart person would have learned all they could from a guy like Jimmy before hes gone. -

Well I'll have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Cory Wilkins, whoever that is lol You take Fleury because Flower is the best available, no brainer. After that you have Grubauer, Raanta, and Korpisalo, possibly Pickard. I would take 2 of those, possibly all 4 depending on ability to flip them. You let one grow under Fleury until flowers contract runs out, or its time to trade him because the underling has become the master. Mrazek is not in this position. Hes already 25, coming off a horrific season, already makes more money than hes worth, and reportedly has off ice issues with managment and coaching staff. Only way you take Petr is to flip him, and apparently Ken Holland cant flip him, so why take him? -
I think Chyaka told him he wouldnt be offered a contract, but is allowing his captain to go gracefully as if it was under his own accord. Terry Boss said something else along the lines of "Arizona is getting rid of everything old" clearly Chyaka wants to accelerate the culture change. Also the team is broke again lol. When you mention Shane Doan my first two thoughts are I really respect the heck out of that guy, and what a complete idiot that guy is. Do you think Yzerman would have stuck with the Yotes for that long with no hopes on the horizon? Mad respect for team loyalty in my book. But on the flip side WHY ARE YOU SO LOYAL TO THIS CRAPPY BROKE TEAM WHO YOU KNOW IS NOT GOING TO WIN DIDDLY?? Doan did some douchey crap to our players in the past, but I used to frequent the same bar as Brad May and May Day swears up and down Doan is one of the coolest, nicest, lovable guys hes ever met. And i dont call guys with knuckles the sizs of my face liars.

Hes lost the starting job twice already in a very short career. Tack on the off ice issues, and its hard to understand why this fanbase is still so over the moon for him. Howards got his own problems, but no besides maybe me bends over backward for him like people do for Mrazek. -

You are aware that Howard is only 33 and that Pavelec likely wont be returning the Jets or the NHL at all? Howard has a lot more time left in the NHL than Pavelec does lol -

In what? -
So what no is talking about is what player we can get from Vegas. Holland said he wont trade assets to protect his current roster, but he said nothing about trading his current roster for players that he collaborates with McPhee to select. He could tell McPhee "hey if you select Enstrom from WPG, ill trade you Nyquist for him" (just picking random players off the top of my head). Holland said hes already spoken to McPhee quite a bit and plans to be in touch with him throughout the freeze period. I think its far more likely our roster gets added and subtracted to at this point, then Holland giving away picks for protection. Also some long time Edmonton reporter is saying the Wings really want Cale Makar

If he tried to move him and couldnt, or has lost all trade value from the attitude reports, then he wont be selected. Vegas is selecting based on value, not so much need. They can fill holes in there FA window. If Mrazek has no value on the open market, he has no value to Vegas. -

I'm not saying your wrong, but most of the hockey-world disagrees with you. Consensus from the fans of 29 other teams, as well as here, and writers seem to think Fleury is there guy. Of course thats not set in stone, but you know what I mean. This is the first time ive ever heard talk of Vegas flipping Fleury and going with Mrazek. The rest of the league does not regard Mrazek as highly as we do. -

Im right there with you brother. This forum treats Mrazek like he's the next coming of Hasek, when in reality he's much closer to Pavelec. The off ice issues only compound the problem. But hey, cool new toys are more fun than old toys that break once in a while. I think theres a toy story movie about that. -

I have not heard this one either. I tend to believe Holland when he says he wont be making special deals to keep players. And I doubt this would have been the case had we not just come off an awful season. Had this been a playoff year, he wouldve donated his left nut to keep Cleary and the boys together. I think we're witnessing a fresh attitude from Holland. The message he's sending is, you cant even make the playoffs, why should I sacrafice future assests to protect any of you? I dont care if youre a good ol boy with an A on your chest, or a 25 year old goalie, if you cant play you get exposed. This is the first step to rebuilding. Change in the front offices philosophy. Hes more concerned about his 3rd draft choice in 2019 at this point, then most of the losers we already have. -

Vegas will have Fleury. Only reason to take Mrazek is to flip him for something else. If Holland is ok with losing him, I seriously doubt he hasnt explored the trade market for him. So why then hasnt he been traded? 1. There is no market for him. Vegas will take someone else. 2. There is a backroom deal to keep Mrazek a wing that only Holland and Mcphee know about. Purpose being a wake up call for our cocky lil netminder. 3. Vegas will take him. Flip him. And Holland truely is a total moron. Though some of you may disagree with me, I really dont believe #3 that Holland is a total moron. Im starting to suspect Mrazek will be a Wing next year regardless of his exposure. -
I doubt Sullivan wants him. Pens tried the old slow thing with Iginla and some other guys.

Attitude and work ethic man. Wings seem to have zero tolerance for bad ones in these departments. Malik did a nice writeup about it, even he thinks Petr has a poor attitude. He elaborates that coaching staff found it harder and harder to coach him as time went on. He has an attitude of "my sh** dont stink" even when hes sitting on a 3.00 GAA and .90% save rate. That attitude is probably what gave him the initial success to becoming the #1, but it hasnt done him any favors since. By all accounts his attitude and work ethic only got worse the worse the season got. At some point he has to realize WOW my poop DOES stink, maybe I should readjust/work harder. Hope he can do that on another team. -

I'll say this, I don't think Mrazek is a team guy, but that's not an attempt to knock him. I think he's very smart and business-savy, more so than most hockey players. Holland typically takes players to player-elected arbitration, I think so that, if negotiations go south, a deal is still guaranteed to get done before the season starts. Mrazek refused to do that, which is rare and ballsy/ego-ish, but also smart/savy because it worked out for him. Holland takes him to club elected arbitration instead (something that can only happen once in a player's entire career, even with multiple teams). My guess is Ken thought Mrazek would back down. He didn't. Petr's agent said at the time that he'd never seen a player so ready to go to arbitration. Mrazek said something along the lines of "no matter what happens I can deal with it as long as I only ever have to do it one time". In the end Ken Holland was the one who blinked first, called him before the hearing ever went down, and gave him his current $4 million contract we're sitting on now. Petr went on to say (in that Czech interview) "Detroit will understand that it's just business" however that could have started a rash of issues with the club. He essentially called Kens bluff at a game of poker and scored a fat contract, when I'm sure Detroit would have rather him take a lighter bridge deal. Clearly Petr doesn't operate like a typical hockey athlete, and IMO, I think he's the type of player who doesn't care who he's playing for, as long as he's playing and getting the money he feels he deserves. IE not a team guy, IE perhaps the type of player Ken doesn't want around. I think Ken expects his young kids to be humble and fall in line. Mrazek was not caste from that mold. So maybe this is Ken Holland's revenge? His big ego check move? IDK, a lot of speculation on my part. It's easier to just be a Howard slappy.
