2017 Stanley Cup Finals: Nashville Predators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Who did he throw the bottle at? I think Todd needs to reeducate you on water bottles lol -
I think very highly of Matt Duchene. He is an extremely talented player whos been on a terrible Avs team. If hes traded to Carolina he instantly becomes their 1C. With NYI he instantly becomes one of the best 2Cs in the league. The cynicism is missplaced here dickie.

Yeah and all of those things have nothing to do with Chelios. Maybe if he trained our D better...? -

Digging? Oh boy The bowl definitely needs to be redone. I don't have a fear of heights, but it's one of these stadiums that is so steep that I remember thinking "whoa, definitely don't slip and fall or youre a goner" Seattle has a boat load of millionaire/billionaire types. I have confidence they can get whatever they need done.

Deja Vu The Seattle Thunderbirds used to play in the Key Arena. That barn needs serious renovations before an NHL team could play there.

As an MSU alum I can get behind this color scheme

I say we switch it to Pizza Town and piss off NYC and Chicago

I doubt it will be us. Avs refused to trade us Quincey back when and I'm sure the one thing Sakic enjoyed this season was watching us miss the playoffs this year. Doubt he wants to help us get back in it.

Agreed. Its a NA league. Both anthems should be played at every game standard -

Unfortunately great former players seem to often make poor coaches. The play comes so naturally to them that it's difficult to explain to others. At least thats my theory anyway. -
Yeah I have no idea what the cost is there. Odd situation for NYI because they have to move him or lose him, and he's a hard player to judge value-wise. He's 26, I'm thinking what you see is probably what you get with him at this point.

Chris Chelios doesn't do what Chris Chelios does for Chris Chelios. Chris Chelios does what Chris Chelios does because Chris Chelios IS Chris Chelios. But yeah I think it's a conflict of interest to work for an employer and the union for that employer at the same time. -

Solidarity forever! -
I've heard this rumor as well. He's coming off a $2 million deal and he's RFA. He's going to get probably something between 3 and 4 million, maybe more? And we can't just sign him, will have to compensate NYI with picks. That I don't like. He's also a pretty boring choice. He played the 2nd pairing and blocks a lot of shots and plays the PK. Other than that I don't find him very enticing, especially with the RFA status.

This thread is about Chelly, and I don't want to turn this into another Holland thread, but the next 2 months will illustrate the future of this team. With Mr. I passing, missing the playoffs for the first time in a quarter century, and the expansion looming, there will be huge opportunity to readjust this team and alter our approach. If Chris and Ken want to shakeup the team, the next two months is the time to do it. If they don't, I'm sure there will be a mid-July Holland gripe fest you can jump in on. -

He was never a bench coach, and probably didn't see a career in coaching panning out for himself. Sounds like he has good traction with some big agents and within the NHLPA. To me this looks like a man making a career shift and that's it. Like Shanny when he joined the department of player safety. I hope being an ombudsman, or whatever he decides to do for the union, works out for him. If not, I'm sure he'll be welcomed back in another player development role.
