Smith/Hronek Assigned to Grand Rapids
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to ChristopherReevesLegs's topic in General
No way, niccccccce Hopefully he can make it up to GR so New Dylan can teach him the ancient ways of wrecking shop at the pro level -
Jurco finally got his first goal/point with Chicago. Smith has 3 pts in 14 games with NYR (+5) Vanek has 8 pts in 14 games with the Cats (-8) Pulkkinen hasn't played in a while....
-
If the comments he's referring to are anything like the ones you've been leaving this season, then I'm not surprised he's amazed.

Made me laugh lol Tkachuk is a little s*** disturber for sure, but the drama has been great to watch and I want more. I love to see the big bad kings get all upset about this punk kid who won't back down. Even after all the grief they gave him about the elbow to the head, and coming over to intimidate him during the warmups, Tkachuk STILL throws a wild hit targeting Doughty lol. This kid is fearless. A real treasure. Have at em boy!

They should rename the address of the new arena from 66 Sibley to 48 Emdog Dr. People will think it's named after Eminem, but we'll know it's for late 2000s era great Cory Emmerton

Axel Holmstrom is heading to Grand Rapids too. He's had another impressive SHL playoff performance with 7 pts in 7 games. 96 IS BACK BABY -
Interesting read. I like how forthcoming Devellano is. So they admittedly did exactly what many around here complain about. Put off a rebuild, out of a feeling of obligation to keep this team competitive as long as possible. Whether you agree with that strategy or not, they certainly did a good job of it. 25 years is impressive to say the least. I think the true reason this team has slowly fallen is the inability to find gems in the draft since 1999 with Zetterberg. We have done some pretty great drafting since 99, but like Devellano says, we've picked late and haven't been able to get anyone who truly moves the needle. IMO Zberg is the last guy we drafted that really moves the needle. When Lids left we lost that player on the backend. With Datsyuk now gone, Zberg is the only one left who can push this team. Parity is here, and it's time to rebuild so we can get these types of players again. The only players found late in drafts these days are players like Nyquist, good, but nothing to build a team around. I don't think we can cite our team as having superior drafting ability anymore. That was all in the 90s. We got to roll up the sleeves and do what everyone else does, tank. I'm proud of what they've accomplished, but I'm glad they've turned their attention to rebuilding now.

Looking ahead at expansion draft
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Now that I think about it, it makes sense. Now teams will know exactly who is available on the entire board, and can negotiate more fairly with the Golden Knights. Smart. This is why they're the GMs I guess. -
Wew lad! have fun
-
10% so like 7+ million dollars? Thats more than enough to cover Franzen
-
Yeah but dont you only have to cap compliant once the season starts?
-
Isnt Franzens cap hit off the books? Why would we need to shed him?

Looking ahead at expansion draft

Cool, this will make the expansion more interesting. And now LGW can get officially cheesed off about who we expose/protect -
In just 6 games this could become true... 50 in '07 One streak dies, and another begins. Circle of life.
-
As is honorable tradition, the defeated general (manager) must surrender his saber and ask that the lives of his men be spared. Then return home in defeat.
-
So with the Joe gone is MSG the only arena without a corporate branded name?
-
Yeah both Mantha and Larkin seemed to be heavily favored by most Wings fans before the draft, and we got both. Svechnikov and Cholowski on the other hand, I did not see coming at all.
-
This is why I generally don't like to start picking favorites before the draft.

Why would we sit our enforcer when we know they're coming out for vengeance regardless. Who cares if he started it. -

Shouldn't the Canes hand us their medals out of respect for AA sparing Lack's life? -

Bad joke I guess. Should be cool though. I guess they will perform between period entertainment for some games. I will definitely be in attendance if they do this when the Wings are in town. -
Luke was simply performing calisthenics at that time, using very little force. He could barely get his X-wing to budge when he tried.

11% is a decent amount? Was Tavares literally carrying Nielsen on his back like yoda during that time?

BTW, looks like the Raiders are moving to Vegas. This is bad for that hockey team. In better news, the golden knights signed Cirque Du Soleil. Does anyone have a scouting report on this kid? Can't find anything on a Du Soleil.
