True, but you still need to fill out your roster. There wasn't anyone NHL ready in the pipeline, so going the UFA route made sense, and i thought Daley was a good signing. His contract will be up around the time guys like Cholowski, Hronek, etc will be ready for full time NHL duty. Sign a 2nd pair guy until you groom one. Makes sense to me.

What I'm hoping for is that Mrazek plays lights out and gets Philly to the conference finals so that pick becomes a 2nd. Then I hope he craps the bed like he always does so that we know Holland did the right thing. Then I hope that Hextall falls for the "potential" mind trick and re-signs him so that we get a third rounder on top of it. Then Mrazek can continue his streaky, inconsistent play for 4 more years and we can post stuff from the Flyer boards about how he's the goalie of the future if only they would play him over Elliott, Neuvirth or whatever undeserving goalie is getting more starts. No. I was giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. Either he thought AA was benched for the TB game (incorrect), or he thought the game against Anaheim where he did get benched was against TB (also incorrect). IDK. Either way, it was erroneous. I agree that being factual and accurate are important, but not everything needs to be corrected. I chose to address the reason for the benching. I don't feel a need to correct people to inflate my ego. And if and when I do correct something that was posted incorrectly, I try to do it in a constructive and respectful manner per forum rules. And if for some reason I fall short of that, i am not above apologizing either. My post history reflects that. I could have an "I don't give a s***" mentality too, but I think this place is more welcoming and refreshing when we all make an effort to have fun and be constructive. I think Green goes and one of Tatar/Nyquist by the TDL and that's it.. A depth dman on a bad defensive team won't garner much interest, so I don't think Ouellet gets traded. If Howard gets traded, it'll be over the summer or next season. I'm not buying the Glendening rumors. Holland doesn't want to trade him and I don't think TOR is dumb enough to overpay to get him. Yeah, Philly has done SOOO well at goalie acquisitions.

Why? Based on what's reported, Green will waive his NTC to go to Tampa. No word if he's willing to for other teams yet. That would put KH in a position of weakness, not strength. If ur only dealing with one trade partner, I think a 2nd and 3rd might be the best you could hope for.

Nielsen is also a center and a 2 way player. Outside of Z at that time, who else was there that fit that bill? And yes the contract is brutal. 2 years too long IMO. Even if KH wanted to trade him, and even if there was a team who wanted him, he is one guy I don't think would waive his NTC/NMC. He's here for good.

Maybe he was getting his games confused when he asked the question? How do I know? Doesn't mean that I can't respond in a constructive way without being condescending.
