Yah, It's really frustrating because everybody keeps saying how great our farm system is. If our farm system is so great, why do we need to watch complete TRASH turn 2 playoff season in a row into non-playoff seasons? Rasmussen, Petry, Gustafsson, and Husso to any team that will take them at any price. Tarasenko-Larkin-Debrincat Raymond-Kasper-Berggren Copp-Compher-Danielson Chiarot-Veleno-Mazur Fischer/Motte Edvinsson - Seider Johansson - Holl Wallinder - Tuomisto Lagesson Talbot Lyon (Cossa 9 Games) This is a lineup that can compete against good teams after 30-40 games of gel time. The Neutered, The Sex Toys, The SCAM, and Dycknose are killing this team right now. We need to do something about it, but for some reason - nothing happens. Just constant TRASH. BTW - Kip/Rick/Lefty - have you started watching Chiarot when he "activates" in the O-zone? I'm so perplexed by this guy. He's an absolute mess on defense and just creates a ton of problems for us in our own end. But EVERY SINGLE TIME he decides to skate the puck along the boards and go in deep, something good happens. It's the strangest of things. I have zero idea why this guy has spend the last 10 years as a shetty defenseman instead of a useful bottom 6-er. He's gotten paid more for being a Sex Toy, so I don't blame the guy. But the coach and GM SHOULD be able to pick up on a player's strengths and weaknesses and take advantage of them. I can't believe the SCAM is such a knucklehead in this regard. Dycknose I can believe. He's a stoolie. The SCAM needs to OPEN HIS P H U C K I N G eyes, though.

I haven't watched yet this year. I need to start tuning in. I want to see if any of our other defensemen are going to make the next step. When I look at our prospect pool now that Edvinsson and Johansson aren't a part of it any longer, I'm not all that excited to be honest. I mean - is this really anything to get that excited about?

Its NOT really bad, tho. Thats the VERY SAD thing. It's horribly mismanaged. You play Edvinsson-Seider, Maatta-Holl, Johansson-ASP, Wallinder from game 1, we round out to rock solid by playoff time. Instead of Motte, let Chiarot take 12th man duties. The SCAM and Dycknose have crippled this team with the Sex Toys. It's sad that Seider has to let the SCAM and Dycknose know TWICE that he's being hindered by Chiarot. I saw it 25 games in Chiarot's first year. Until those guys are out of the lineup, we stand ZERO chance against a good opponent.

This is the nice way of explaining the Sex Toys effect. Seider ahould never have had to play with Butt Plug after being sentence to that first year of crap. They brought Edvinsson up one year too late. These guys are the best 1st pair in the league imo.

Do we let these guys toil away in the bottom 6 or ditch them for players that are faster, bigger, tougher, stronger? I like homegrown talent, but these guys are bordering on just being homegrown as of now. Rasmussen Veleno Berggren Rasmussen only shows up once every 10 games. He let Panarin skate right by him and score last game, and that's not an isolated incident. Not sure why everyone has a hard on for this guy. He's average at best defensively and DOESN'T SCORE. I'm ok with our bottom six guys scoring 15-20 points a year so long as they're monsters on defense. Veleno has already topped out at 4th line center. I have zero issues with him playing 4th line center at a million a year for us for 20 more years. He's not a liability, and he hustles. But damn. This cat was Sidney Crosby at 15 years old. Berggren needs to decide if he wants to be an NHL player or go back to Sweden. He's WEAK. Not weak in like he has no talent. Weak in that he's a big hairy p u s s y. Why do our players never go from boys to men? They always seem to go from boys to boys with less zits. I've said it before, but GOD ALREAY - hire a weight training coach that knows how to turn boys into men. WTF is with this stupid shet in our organization? Every camp, they're always talking about nutrition and eating right. FACK all that. How about talking about getting these jackasses completely ripped out of their minds. I'd rather see Berggren suck as a 215 wrecking ball then watch him suck as a pimply 180 lb loser. Our strength and development program is a total failure. So what do we do with these players that once showed top 6 promise and are now teetering on getting let go or traded?

Ahhh. I didnt see that one. I dont mind top 15 picks turning into great bottom 6 guys (Veleno, Kasper, MBN, Rasmussen). I just dont like it when we pay bottom 6 guys top 6 money (Compher, Copp).

Edvinsson weak play. He needs to use his body.

The problem with hockey sometimes is people get caught up on hitting the stat sheets. So a guy like Butt Plug that puts up 30 points a year gets a favorable nod over a guy like Johansson that puts up 10 points. The average joe doesn't see that Johansson kept the other team out of our defensive zone for 15 more seconds a shift than Butt Plug did, leading to our forwards being able to attack 15 seconds more every shift. And so far, that's exactly what I'm seeing out of Johansson. I'm not writing him off offensively, because I think he'll be utilized for that too when the time comes. But I'm definitely writing him IN when it comes to his work from the red line back to our goal line. He's positionally solid at all times and always has his head up for the play like Lids and Krownall did. So like you said, when that extra 10 lbs of muscle in his upper body come, he'll be able to handle the board battles a little more effectively like Seider and Edvinsson do. That will round out his game.

I love your commentary. I think it's important to realize that once we play all of our good, young, fast draft picks, we don't have to have 18 skaters focusing on shut down full court press defense all the time. Unlike Axl who I feel is wrong 95% of the time, I believe that it's just as important to have a team that can SKATE and TRANSITION quickly to keep the other team focused on playing shut down defense all the time. This is why I want to see our first rounders (and wanted to see Broberg and Holloway) play instead of a bunch of SEX TOYS and crappy UFA pick ups. Do you need forwards like Datsyuk/Fedorov/Draper that can tilt the ice with their defense and offense? Sure. You can't have 12 guys that just skate well and have zero skill. But if you have the choice between a guy like Lombardi that skates like the wind and is offensively creative but not extremely gifted like Dats/Feds/Drapes, you play that guy over a guy like Motte or Watson 10 times out of 10. And same with ASP/Johansson/Wallinder/Buium. You don't put SEX TOYS in front of younger guys that have potential to develop into good 2-way transition defensemen. This team has a hard time playing against the tougher opponents in the league because the old SEX TOYS can't keep up and generally aren't good defensemen. We need to change that. Side note - how do you feel about Johansson, Kip? I've focused on him the last 3-4 games, and I LOVE his game. Silent Assassin. He's tough for his size, gets in the way, and has a great positional awareness. I thought it was going to take him 30-45 games to catch up to the slight step up in speed of the NHL vs AHL. Nope. He's there. Took him about 2-3 games. He's going to be a good partner for ASP for a VERY LONG TIME hopefully.

If you play your GOOD PLAYERS, you will play good hockey. You dont have to have one or the other. You can have a team thats good at both.
