https://sinbin.vegas/jonathan-marchessault-on-the-trade-block-no-way/ Rumblings in Vegas have begun of Marchessault being on the trade block. He's got one year on his contract left, his value is at an all time high after winning the conn-smythe, and he's expected to go to UFA because of the 2024 UFA watershed. He's also turning 33 this year and will likely start his decline soon. So the Kinghts want to get something for him (roster, not futures) and they want it done early/soon so he is not a distraction for the team. I don't think he is a good fit for the Wings in a trade - but this could be an interesting story to watch if true. What Vegas needs: a 2nd pair RHD. Which is exactly what we dont have anyway -
Mark Mullen no longer listed as a scout on the Wings website. And I believe that is the last of the Holland scouts to go (not counting the euro scouts who have basically been untouched.) So - unless there is a last minute hire - we are rolling into the season with 8 NA scouts, 5 Euro scouts, 1 goalie scout, 4 NA Pro scouts, 1 Euro Pro scout. This is, to my knowledge, is the most pro scouts on the Wings in a while, and the least amount of amateur scouts in a while. Are we transitioning away from the draft now? Or opening spots for Al Murray to join? Or Helm to join the org when he retires soon?

Cause he wouldn't be #6/#7... He led the Penguins 2nd pair last year and the only player who played more than him was Kris Letang. It would be Maata, Chiarot, Holl, and Lindstrom getting forced down the lineup Walman - Seider Ghostbear - Petry Chiarot - Holl Maata Lindstrom - waived/traded who cares Walman and Seider also aren't going to play together forever. I would be interested in seeing: Ghost - Seider Chiarot - Petry Walman - Holl Maata Chiarot and Petry played pretty damn well together as the top pair in Montreal. A trade for Petry and we could reunite that pairing. Ghost and Mo could also put up a ton of points. Then let Walman/Holl/Maata be the shut down crew.

Look at me ive autistically purchased every piece of hockey merchandise ever produced from every team ever. And I horde it in the house my mom left me when she died. Can I be an expert now? Pleass, my wife took the kids. SHOW ME THE NUMBERS SHANNON

Now hes definately breaking out. Especially too cause his poop linemates Z and V are gone.

Berg is my #1 prospect to watch this year. IMO he's the guy who's gonna take a huge step forward. Last year he was on pace for 34 pts getting 3rd line minutes. I'm predicting 45-50 pts this season. Got his beak wet last year, other teams won't be targeting him as a top guy, and he should see increased usage.

Per Eric Engels of Sportsnet, on the Marinaro podcast, Buffalo and Detroit have interest in MTL's Jeff Petry. Michigan born, 35 yo, RHD, scored 31 pts in 61 games last year. Chris Johnston of TSN also says Dallas is interested, but would ask MTL to retain 50%. Return for Petry not expected to be big. Return will be greater if MTL retains. Lindstrom and a 3rd straight up? Petry has an NTC blocking him from going to any Western Conf teams

Was reading about Flames rumors and found two interesting ones: Gaudreau didn't pull the plug on CGY. His new wife did. Johnny had slept with basically every puck bunny in the Calgary social circle before meeting his wife, so she was constantly embarrassed having to interact with these other women at social gatherings. Kinda makes sense with Johnny's comments about choosing Columbus because it was a good place to settle down and raise a family. Wings related one is: Backlund actually requested a trade as far back as the Gaudreau/Tkachuk fiasco. The three teams he requested to be sent to were Avs, Stars, and Wings. Maybe we keep our eye on him at the TDL? If we're in the playoff picture Backlund could be some cheap vet center depth. Play papa to Raymond and Berggren.

Race Car Driver Zach Demelo is alleging on instagram that Sprong grabbed him by the throat in a night club. Then after being seperated, snuck up on him later in the night and sprongwalled him. Sounds like assault/battery charges are coming. Sorry i dont know how to post insta crap

Hossa's goodbye game might be the biggest mixing of Hawks and Wings ever Wings: Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Tatar, Kopecky, Hudler, Holmstrom, Mrazek, Alfredsson, Lilja Hawks: Byflugien, Hjalmarsson, Havlat, Sharp, Handzus, Toews, Rosizal, Keith, Darling, Odyua, Kruger You can tell where this guy made friends. Wings and Hawks. He invited basically none of the penguins lol. -
Never cared for Suter - and I found it strange how many fans on reddit and hf boards did. @ 3.25 AAV he was expected to be a middle 6 center for us that could PK and provide a lil offense. Unlike Kubalik - he did terrible for us compared to what he did for the Hawks - and did not live up to the contract. You can't have 4th line PK centers making $3.2. And he wasn't even a very good 4th line PK center. Why folks were hoping we'd re-sign him is beyond me. At $1.6 for the Canucks is much better. But if I was a GM I wouldn't even take him for that. He's a bad bottom 6 C. Only way I take Pius Suter as a 4th line C is if Im desperate for one - kinda like the canucks are.

Right? It's not drunken brawling - it's Irish dancing. Just like how it's not blacking out and wandering off without saying goodbye - it's an Irish goodbye. It's Saturday so tonight I'm gonna have a few wee pints and then do some Irish driving all around town.

I dont think this is as bad as you folks make it out to be. Buncha drunk R-slurs in a club talking s*** and fighting over girls. Demelo got Spronged on. It happens more than most think. Im excited to see what Sprong can do with this team. He was a high draft pick that disappointed, but then came into his own late with Seattle. 60 pts is impressive. He took a very low contract with Detroit based on his performance, and its sort of a prove it thing. If he can replicate it this will be a highly lucrative signing. And I really dont care how many race car drivers he punches in night clubs. Get Sprong-walled loser.

I'm not opposed to signing Kane - he just doesn't fit into the Yzerplan. Anybody who comes here should be expected to sign a 1-2 year deal and then be traded - until further notice. Kane obviously wants to be comofrtable (not be in a crap city) and wants the chance to win (not us). I'm more looking at Tatar. Would love to bring him back and trade him again at the TDL.

Larkin is a top 12 center in the league. Despite never scoring more than a PPG and getting zero Selke votes every year. Trust me. A guy on twitter who thought Zadina was the next Marian Hossa told me the Selke votes are wrong and Larkin is ackxtuealllllyyyy the best defensive center in the league. Kopitar - who actually has hit 90 points and is a perennial Selke candidate? Trash. He doesn't even go fast anymore. And fast is everything in todays league. If you can't speed around like an r-slur for 20 minutes a game you basically suck. Zetterberg would be eaten alive by young mega allstar speedsters like Larkin in todays NHL. Sure you can takeaway Larkins wingers like in 2020-21 and he'll only score 23 pts in 44 games... but in todays game Zetterberg and Malkin probably wouldnt even manage 5 pts in the same scenario. Forget about the fact that Zberg was still putting up huge numbers with abby, cleary, samuelson, and filppula as his linemates. He couldn't do that now. In the LARKIN era. What a dyanmo... its just total bad luck that this superstar hasnt brought us a cup yet. And because of it he's ranked next to the trash player that is Elias Lindholm by the illustrious and on point nhl.com. Marco Kasper and Nate Danielson are certainly not going to make Larkin's retardedly big long contract look stupid in the future. Because larkin is not in the same class as Paul Woods and Danny Gare. He's up amongst the lidstroms and yzermans and howes of great red wings players/leaders. Look at all hes accomplished. zero awards but he deserves them all. Just like Jaff Blashill. I cannot wait for the actually good players that SY has drafted to lift up Larkin and make him look good. Then finally, once good players lead the team, folks will recognize he was an ace all along. And not just a 2C playing mad ice time. Larkin is love. Larkin is life. -
Mine: Debrincat has a dissapointing first year and is relegated to the 2nd and 3rd lines before seasons end. Raymond looks much better than last year, but still has more work to do. Berggren emerges as our most valuable winger. Playing top line minutes with Larkin and putting mad pts on the board. Kasper makes the team at camp and quickly works his way to 2C. Because of Kasper, Copp moves to LW and, much like Ras, becomes a much more dynamic offensive threat and powerforward. Rasmussen begins to play with more edge and confidence in his game. Veleno continues to be a 4th line scrub. Fabbri is on LTIR before Christmas. Lombardi is called up for his 9 game cup of joe after the TDL. Edvinsson does not make the team at camp again. However he is the #1 callup and Lindstrom is sat to make room for his callups. Lindstrom terminates his contract mid season over this and goes back to Sweden. Maata and Holl end up being one of the better 3rd pairs in the league. Ghostbear and Chiarot dissapoint. Walman starts racking up points on the 1st pair using his slapshot for deflections. Reimer is complete garbage and Lyon replaces him on the roster. Stevie also picks up another goalie off waivers. The wings flirt with the playoff again but end up selling Ghost and Perron at the TDL.

Really hoping Brandon trades him to Seattle. Tbirds are the powerhousse of the WHL right now. They have about 5-6 really good players who are suddenly eligible for the AHL this year. I'm guessing the truly special ones will go (Lambert, Guenther, Schaefer) but the actual 2-3 older top scorers will stay. Also Seattle didn't select until the 3rd round this year in the draft, but they also brought in a former 1st round pick and a former 2nd round pick via trade for cheap this summer. Then they unloaded Tij Iginla for a ransom (1st + other assets). Iginlas kid is still only 17/18 but he hasn't shown much promise yet. Really think the trading team bought the name. Hoping Seattle uses the extra assets to go after Danielson at the TDL. Brandon WILL be trading him. Even if every AHL elibigle pplayer leavess the T-birds have a solid young core of Sawchyn (63 ovverraall) Myatovic (33) Korrchinski (7) - who has been cleaarly the best player on the teaam and iss going to be a force in the NHL one day, Im pisssed the hawks got him - and Allen (31). Apart from all that noise, I am impressssed. He fasst. He take hit if he hass to. Drives the net all the time. Has some daangles in his back pocket. And he'ss a defenive Stalwart. Much like Kasssper and SSSSeider, he wass labeled a D sspeccialisst,, but you caan tell theress farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more to his game. Yzerman/Draper have been vvery good at identifying PRO D players who haavve more offense to unlock. Danny would expplode with Seattle or any of the top WHL teaaams
-
I forget, is he allowed to come up to the AHL for playoffs? Thought he has to go NHL or WHL. I just hope he gets traded to a better WHL team.

The problem isnt Arizona, its the Phoenix metro area. No human should be living in that desert. Its a statue to mans arrogance. Owner should simply just move the team to a more hockey friendly northern city like flagstaff.

I want to apologize to the Swedish Mafia for this post. My chinese assistant wrote it for me, and sometimes his translations are not good. Sweden is the Red Wings greatest ally and I have asked Biden to redirect israeli and ukraine funding to stockholm. Long live Sweden, the one true north, and the Swedish Mafia. Please dont shut down the site again. I have talked to my chinesd assistant, and he wont do this again. -
