I feel like I am back on Twitter! I am super excited to see all these kids play...too bad I'll miss it while on the road. Oh well...
-
Why does the NHL sort teams by points and not percentage or games behind like in the NBA or MLB?

Is this one of those Korean Spam posts? It just saying the same thing! -
dang, you haven't read many threads have you. That argument was valid, what, two years ago? Maybe get off page 432 of the forums and catch up with the rest of us.
-
Nah, there's no "get em" left in me. We'll just have people posting the same stuff in two different threads. It doesn't matter. We'll still enjoy reading post in each one as we do in all of them!
-
Sure is shaping up like the same thread...but oh well...
-
Honestly, did we need an exact same thread? Not exact same title, but aren't we already talking lines in the other thread?

...as was speculated yesterday, Witkowski has not been sent to GR. He remains on The Wings roster with Svech going on 'Non-Roster IR." I would guess that when Svech becomes healthy that is when Witko will be assigned to GR. In other news, my dark horse hope for the draft last June, Liam Kirk, is playing for Peterborough in the OHL and has 2 goals with 3 points in 4 games. I still wish we could somehow get this kid, even more so than Tippett, if you can believe that!

2018-2019 Opening Night Roster - Dedicated to BlueAdams!
LeftWinger replied to LeftWinger's topic in General
This may be an odd prediction from me, but Ehn is not going to be Andersson 2.0, he's going to work out to be Playoff Franzen 2008 2.0. Ok, ok, maybe not that good, but he is going to surprise the NHL he will be top 6 scoring on this team (not all-time) by time his career is over. 25-35 goals per year. Especially once teammate Berggren shows up. Bold prediction #1. -
Svech on "non-roster" injured reserve.
-
and here we go. Looks like E, Daley and Kronner just may be out for the opener. Sulak, Hronek and Hicketts are now all showing on the roster. Earlier today, they were not. Franzen, Z and Green have been officially moved to IR. Svech still showing in the minors roster and Witko still showing on Detroit. Even though he was waived and cleared, he can still play in Detroit. But if Svech is hurt, I don't think he can be sent down. We'll see! But damn! We are going to have a Green (and Green-less) opening D roster! They don't need to send anyone down because they have $15M in LTIR if needed, but are only projected to be using $8M of it with 14 FWDS, 9D and 2G. They'll just put a couple of D on regular IR to become roster compliant.

...also remember, this was 1992, so it was pre-"My Name is Mud" Primus, their biggest hits were Tommy The Cat, Jerry Was a Race Car Driver and before that "Cheese" album, they didn't have much... John The Fisherman being one.
-
Ok, I cannot ignore you anymore, you're too fun to read and talk to! Here is a list of cities and dates that U2 had Primus as their opening act. You'll see Sept. 6, 1992 in Pontiac. ...as to why they chose Primus, I am not sure, but I sure as hell enjoyed it! (more so than U2, but the chicks loved U2 back then and it was all about the chicks in the day!) I really cannot remember The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, maybe we were a bit late arriving or maybe they played certain cities and Primus played others, not sure...
-
I just put this exact lineup (different line combos) in the Blue Adams thread. You're right it's going to be very exciting and scary! Blashill said Ehn is definitely IN... so not sure who the two scratches will be if Svech is healthy to play, because he most definitely earned a spot.

2018-2019 Opening Night Roster - Dedicated to BlueAdams!

Now this brings us back to here. With Ras, Cholowski, and Ehn making the team (Svech possibly here too) what does your lineup look like? Keep in mind that Green is out and quite possibly Daley, E and Kronwall. Ras - Larkin - Mantha Nyquist - AA - Vanek Ehn - Nielsen - Bertuzzi Abby - Glenny - Helm (Frk and Svech extra unless Svech is good to go then I don't know who he'll replace...) (For me, the D will be hard to pair if those guys aren't ready for Thursday, so I will just list the ones playing if that's happens.) Dekeyser - Jensen Cholowski - Sulak Hicketts - Hronek Howard (because he's the incumbent) https://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2018/09/red_wings_youth_on_display_to.html#incart_river_index -
Ok, so all three guys cleared waivers today. Witko can now be assigned to GR opening up a roster spot. We currently have 13 FWDS (not counting Franzen and Z) so who gets that 14th spot? I think if Svech's "tweak" is deemed ok, he'll be in the lineup opening night. But if Svech isn't cleared to play, who gets it? Do they call Witko back up, call someone else, or just go with a 22 man roster?

Vancouver 1-6 in their preseason games, playing like a high school team, foreshadowing their plans for the regular season in order to unite the Hughes Brothers.
-
Should be called U-Snowflakes. They're just too "bleeding heart" for me. I don't care to hear a bands political position when they sing. But they have lasted the times! ..and I have to admit, I was at the Zoo TV tour at The Palace with The Pixies, Then I saw them again later that year at the Silverdome with Primus.
-
It is best for Zadina to hone his skills in GR, even though we were all hyped to see him make the roster out of camp! Good for Ras and Cholowski! We kind of knew Ras was going to make it, unless he stunk it up, but nice job by Cholowski bumping his way past both Hronek and Hicketts! Sulak impressed as well! If E and Daley are out (and possibly Kronner) for the opener, I think we can all agree that those three will be in. Although IMO, Saarijarvi did a bit better than Hronek. Minus Z and Franson, the Wings sit at 14 FWDS, 7D and 2G's equaling 23 players, roster compliant, and that is WITH Witko. So since he was waived, and if clears, CAN be assigned to GR, I have a feeling once Svech feels better, he is the one that will be in the Detroit lineup. Who sits? Frk and Ehn? BTW, who was the one who wanted Ehn to make the team to form the Frk - Ehn - AA line? That is classic! Pure Gold!
-
I don't think that worked the way you intended it to.
-
A bit surprising is Kronwall left the ice 15 in. Is he getting the Z treatment and only practicing when he can, or has his knees flared up early? We could have a VERY young D corps this season... ...and there you have it. Whoa? Witko being waived for Ehn? ...and just a bit more

SMH Country : districts and small settlements outside large towns, cities, or the capital. "the airfield is right out in the country" U2 is no band.
-
Hype of Hypes! The final roster tryouts are tonight! Btw, anyone know if Jokinen is still o n his PTO or has he been released?
-
That would be a great 4th line!
-
Not on subject, but since when does a GDT always remain on subject? I found this neat video, counting 1-99 using hockey players #'s. How many can you do without looking names up? I would fail miserably!

"God's Country " is a state of mind or a feeling. I can look out over any vista in West Michigan and say the same thing. I happen to think there is no state more beautiful than Michigan. Especially the West Michigan area. "God's Country."
