Bizarre Hype!
-
Ok, with the roster almost set (barring a trade for a defender) give us your best guess at what the opening night roster will look like and what line combos you'd like to see. It's a given that we'll get Larkin signed, I am going with a 2 year $4M bridge deal. Unfortunately the chatter about Z is getting too frequent, so I have to go with he is done. So even if we signed Also, just because I have Kronwall listed in the #7 spot, does not mean he will be scratched every night. I just put him there because with his knees there is a good chance he may the guy rotating in and out more frequently than Jensen or Hronek, but he may play 80 games, who knows with him! You could flip AA and Nyquist around, but I like AA in the top 6, plus he had great chemistry with Helm and Vanek prior. Other than that, I really like what our roster will (could) look like come October. It may not be Cup or even playoff worthy (yet) but it's moving in the right direction. (it also may get us about the 11th-12th from the bottom finish, and we know what that means, #1 or #2 overall! )

Why does the NHL sort teams by points and not percentage or games behind like in the NBA or MLB?
LeftWinger replied to kalaco's topic in General
Here's an idea, for the entire season, sort the teams by points, then on the last day, re-sort them by winning percentage! -
I love this "injury report" for the Leafs: ...its even funny how its worded. Couldn't they just put "Unsigned."
-
Nah, this team is going to surprise a lot of folks this season! Don't get me wrong, I'd love a shot at the #1 pick, but I just have a feeling this team is going to surprise a lot of folks this season! If we can get our goalies to over-perform, I just have a feeling that this team is going to surprise a lot of folks this season! Oddly enough, these young kids may come in and feel they have to fight to stay in the NHL, and that just be the antidote the allows this team to surprise a lot of folks this season! Oh, shoot ,sorry, I thought I was over in the "Korean Spam" thread! Seriously though, as much as most of us want to win the Jack Hughes lotto, I am sure we'd all be ecstatic if this team ran away with the Eastern Conference and really did surprise everyone! Anyhow, I won't be watching (have to drive to work) but I will be listening!

Nah, that trade is nowhere near one sided as I would propose, if it were me I would've said Nielsen for Hedman. Btw, E and Kronwall on IR, Witko, Hronek and Hicketts recalled.
-
Yes. Not to the point you are referring (joking) about. Plus, if somebody says something to me first about one of those subjects, and I respond, doesn't count as me bringing it up. Or if it's in the (an) appropriate thread. Even then 99% of the time i dont discuss them.
-
Nyquist may be re-signed in July, but only after he is traded at the deadline...
-
I feel like I am back on Twitter! I am super excited to see all these kids play...too bad I'll miss it while on the road. Oh well...

Is this one of those Korean Spam posts? It just saying the same thing! -
dang, you haven't read many threads have you. That argument was valid, what, two years ago? Maybe get off page 432 of the forums and catch up with the rest of us.
-
Nah, there's no "get em" left in me. We'll just have people posting the same stuff in two different threads. It doesn't matter. We'll still enjoy reading post in each one as we do in all of them!
-
Sure is shaping up like the same thread...but oh well...
-
Honestly, did we need an exact same thread? Not exact same title, but aren't we already talking lines in the other thread?

...as was speculated yesterday, Witkowski has not been sent to GR. He remains on The Wings roster with Svech going on 'Non-Roster IR." I would guess that when Svech becomes healthy that is when Witko will be assigned to GR. In other news, my dark horse hope for the draft last June, Liam Kirk, is playing for Peterborough in the OHL and has 2 goals with 3 points in 4 games. I still wish we could somehow get this kid, even more so than Tippett, if you can believe that!

2018-2019 Opening Night Roster - Dedicated to BlueAdams!

This may be an odd prediction from me, but Ehn is not going to be Andersson 2.0, he's going to work out to be Playoff Franzen 2008 2.0. Ok, ok, maybe not that good, but he is going to surprise the NHL he will be top 6 scoring on this team (not all-time) by time his career is over. 25-35 goals per year. Especially once teammate Berggren shows up. Bold prediction #1. -
Svech on "non-roster" injured reserve.
-
and here we go. Looks like E, Daley and Kronner just may be out for the opener. Sulak, Hronek and Hicketts are now all showing on the roster. Earlier today, they were not. Franzen, Z and Green have been officially moved to IR. Svech still showing in the minors roster and Witko still showing on Detroit. Even though he was waived and cleared, he can still play in Detroit. But if Svech is hurt, I don't think he can be sent down. We'll see! But damn! We are going to have a Green (and Green-less) opening D roster! They don't need to send anyone down because they have $15M in LTIR if needed, but are only projected to be using $8M of it with 14 FWDS, 9D and 2G. They'll just put a couple of D on regular IR to become roster compliant.
-
...also remember, this was 1992, so it was pre-"My Name is Mud" Primus, their biggest hits were Tommy The Cat, Jerry Was a Race Car Driver and before that "Cheese" album, they didn't have much... John The Fisherman being one.
-
Ok, I cannot ignore you anymore, you're too fun to read and talk to! Here is a list of cities and dates that U2 had Primus as their opening act. You'll see Sept. 6, 1992 in Pontiac. ...as to why they chose Primus, I am not sure, but I sure as hell enjoyed it! (more so than U2, but the chicks loved U2 back then and it was all about the chicks in the day!) I really cannot remember The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, maybe we were a bit late arriving or maybe they played certain cities and Primus played others, not sure...
-
I just put this exact lineup (different line combos) in the Blue Adams thread. You're right it's going to be very exciting and scary! Blashill said Ehn is definitely IN... so not sure who the two scratches will be if Svech is healthy to play, because he most definitely earned a spot.

2018-2019 Opening Night Roster - Dedicated to BlueAdams!

Now this brings us back to here. With Ras, Cholowski, and Ehn making the team (Svech possibly here too) what does your lineup look like? Keep in mind that Green is out and quite possibly Daley, E and Kronwall. Ras - Larkin - Mantha Nyquist - AA - Vanek Ehn - Nielsen - Bertuzzi Abby - Glenny - Helm (Frk and Svech extra unless Svech is good to go then I don't know who he'll replace...) (For me, the D will be hard to pair if those guys aren't ready for Thursday, so I will just list the ones playing if that's happens.) Dekeyser - Jensen Cholowski - Sulak Hicketts - Hronek Howard (because he's the incumbent) https://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2018/09/red_wings_youth_on_display_to.html#incart_river_index
