Ya, he may just opt to sign with a Cup contender to begin with. Oh well, as stated before, not Kenny's fault he got injured, at least we still got that second 1st round pick!

Tatar traded to Golden Knights for 2018 1st, 2019 2nd & 2021 3rd

With that pick from Vegas, I think we should pick someone out of Fullerton, Ca. I hear they have the most knowledgeable people there, so they must have great players with great minds! -
Pretty mature for a man in his 60's. Your wife must be so proud!

This guy is like a 60-65 year old herpe.

In the end, the NHL is a business. Sign him for $4M-$5M 1 yr. In hopes of (trying again) flipping him to a contender in 2019. That makes the most business sense. Unless we score JT, he'll be too old by time we are serious contenders again. Stranger things have happened, but we have to flip him for a 1st. If he weren't injured, he would've been dealt. He will have the same value, maybe more TDL again.

@amato too funny! I said the same thing last month! I can imagine a sold out LCA saying WOOOOO as the Flair soundbyte is played after he scores! -
I honestly give Holland an A-. It's not his fault teams shied away from Green, I'm sure he had some lowball offers due to the injury, but when healthy Green is far too valuable for low round picks. He hit a homerun, no a grand slam with Tatar. Considering he cur three years of $5.3M off the cap is valuable enough, but three picks as well. I give him the A- because I sure wish we could've cut a bit more cap, but we'll see what happens before next season. Like I said before, we will have $22M in available cap (With Franzen LTIR) and even more if cap goes up. Hell, I say sign Green to a 1 yr. Deal and see what happens next TDL. We'll potentially have 4 players that may be coveted next TDL. Green, E, Nyquist, Howard. Not that I'll think it'll happen, but if Kronner doesn't retire, I'm sure we may get a call or two about him as a rental to solidify a Cup contender. Ya never know!

When we hyphenate Luke Glendening with the letters L G D (all together of course) the forum, for some unexplained reason translates it to disney.com -

Just as long as Pitt is eliminated as well. A three-peat Cindy Lee Crosby suck fest is the absolute LAST thing I want to listen to! -

Well ya, it does, because in your first line, you say Frk is the last Czech on this team. That is NOT #FakeNews -

I agree, they didn't take away from their roster to acquire him, it just adds top 5 scoring depth to their team. Having a great coach in Gerry F. Gallant (Jack Adams hands down) Tatar is going to excel tremendously. Remember, Blashill is a horrible NHL coach and is process has failed most of the players. I wouldn't be surprised it Tatar gets near 30 total by time the year is over. They have 21 games left, if you count the Hat trick he is going to have on March 8th at LCA, he just may get close to 30 total! -

Yes, first round exit gives us what, #16-#19? That would be awesome! This does look very nice! -
Kenny needs to come out and say something like: " We weren't going to be low-balled on a return for Mike, he is more important to our team than low-ball offers. We felt that unless the return was going to immediately impact our team, we weren't just gong to throw Mike away. We will now work on re-signing him to be a part of maintaining our culture and helping to usher in our kids." Of course I bet I he is really hoping part of that culture involves helping Dahlin! As we all are!

Tatar traded to Golden Knights for 2018 1st, 2019 2nd & 2021 3rd

I could be wrong, but IIRC didn't Tatar file his own arbitration and take most of the summer to re-sign? Guess Kenny doesn't like that. AA lucked out this TDL, we'll see how negotiations go this summer. But actually, good that Tatar will have a legit shot at a Cup, he may never have gotten that here before his contract was up. With Tatar gone (and Sheahan for a while) can someone please convince Larkin to switch to 21 or 15 please! I hate looking at the #71, just doesn't look right. -
I am sure Kenny was probably wanting Nemestikov since he was put out there. Really though, Nemestikov and a conditional 1st for Green wouldn't have been too pricey. But the haul from Tatar makes up for that a bit because the 1st will probably be a little higher. Not sure injury scared Yzerman off since McDonagh is also out with an upper body: That is from hockey-reference.com. Those were all the injured players for NYR as of today.

Plus you'd have to think that the 2021 3rd may be just like a low 2nd as well. I give Kenny credit for today. Couldn't trade Green because of the injury, not his fault, refused to get fleeced for disney.com, good job! Shed cap, got 3 picks in return. two things I want to point out here, three actually: 1. It's nice to NOT see Detroit at the top of the salary chart! 2. Its very nice to see 6 picks in the 1st 3 rounds. Plus considering where us and Ottawa are going to finish, it's almost like having FOUR 1st round picks! 3. With this trade, we now have $18.1M cap space for July, add t that Franzen's $3.9M LTIR and that is $22M. I would say that is enough to re-sign all out RFA's PLUS make a run at JT if he's interested. As long as if Green re-signs, its for much less than $6M. -
if the injry scared people off, so be it. Need a 2nd fro disney.com, nothing less. Able to shed some long term salary cap. We did. Still wish he had gotten rid of Nyquist and Helm as well, but hey, all in all, we are +5.3M for cap and we have another 1st round pick. Pretty good job Kenny...

Ya, I'm thinking we'd of heard something by now about a pending trade.

I guess as long as the phone call to the league is made before 3, you can iron out details until it's done.
