Nah, I was a huge Mrazek fan and slappy. I was calling for him to be the starter for a long long time! I hate to see him go, but he really did take a turn for the worse and somehow became a team cancer. Doesn't mean I am a Jimmy fan now, he sucks, always has, always will. I'd still choose Petr over Jimmy, but obviously Jimmy is worth garabge arounf the league and we dealt the one that got us the better return. Which has been fine with me for a long time now. I've said more than a few times that we should trade the one that bring the best return, if not both.

I could live with Green for Foote straight up. I am also hearing 2019 is a barn burner. that is why I don't want to trade our 1st. We'll still be a lottery team IMO and the potential to land Jack Hughes is alone enough to not even think about getting rid of it.

If we just talk about the names being mentioned that are on the books for next year, Helm, Nyquist, Tatar, Glen, that is well over $10M off next years books. Add that to the $12 already available and if the cap goes up a bit, we could have between $25M and $30M. Holland has to do this. Before July 1, he has to open up about $15M. It can be done. He has to just get rid of the players being asked about, then maybe a player or two at the draft. Just think, next TDL Jimmy and E will be being shopped as well for more draft picks in a deep 2019 class.

I pass. 2019 will be another lottery pick. If we were closer to being a Cup team, maybe, but no thanks to acquiring Karlsson outside of UFA in a couple of summers.

If the choice were a 1st -or- Foote and a 2nd, I take Foote and the 2nd (which is essentially a 3rd) for sure. But I really think Holland will accept something like a 2nd in 2018 and 3rd in 2109. That seems to be his wheelhouse. If that happens then he will need to be fired. If he is anything like his old man, then he probably wants to beat up Red Wings not play with them!

Ok, if Holden gets a 3rd and a prospect, Green is well worth the 1st and I still believe a prospect, but if its a 2nd and a NHL ready prospect that Holland wants, that is good. I say a 1st and prospect or 2nd and NHL ready prospect should be the price.
