If Kenny is able to pull off the deals we want to see this month, Trade Green for a 1st + prospect, trade Howard or Mrazek, trade Nyquist or Tatar, trade XO, all for a nice set of draft picks and/or prospects, then I am all for him signing on as GM for another contract. If he managed to trade ALL of these players then give him a life long deal!

I would think the 1st and a prospect would be far more valuable than a 2nd and 3rd in this case. I know it would awesome to get a 1st and Foote, but Mac just says prospect, not high prospect. More than likely it'd be a 1st and some lower round prospect. Maybe a 1st and Volkov or Raddish? I am not sure they'd give up a 1st and Foote or Howden. Maybe a 2nd and Foote or Howden? Although I am still holding out hope for a bid up war and we get overpaid for him! You'd have to figure at least all 4 division leaders will want a crack at him, if not all 12 teams that are "IN" right now. We could get a nice payment for him that exceeds his value! That would be great!

Here is some interesting thoughts on some of our players and the TDL: http://mynhltraderumors.com/nhl-rumors-looking-at-who-the-detroit-red-wings-could-trade-at-the-deadline/2018/01/29/?utm_source=spotim&utm_medium=spotim_recirculation&spotim_referrer=recirculation&spot_im_comment_id=sp_oHhGytg0_54322_c_OTne1y

Here's a dream scenario, we dump a butt ton of salary, we get what we have wanted from tpa for Green (1st and Foote.) Win the lottery, draft Dahlin...Karlsson comes here on a Swedish Don (Zetterberg) discount, Then JT comes here as well! Somebody wake me!
-
Please no! Rather have Jensen.
-
If that were a remote possibility, I'd be all over it! Which is why I say Holland holds all the cards. Yzerman has his window to win now, price to pay for Green shouldn't matter to Yzerman as long as he's not taking awsy from his NHL roster. Green, Nyquist for 1st, 2nd, Foote w/ 50% of each salary retained. Which is basically a 2nd, 3rd, Foote.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT KENNY!
-
No to AA for Faulk. We need a D that will turn this franchise around. Dahlin. If we get the #1, we'll have that D and AA. I've read Dahlin described as a player who will turn a franchise around. Faulk has not turned Carolina into anything, nor has he ever been described that way. Not worth AA.
-
Green for a 2nd and mid level prospect. Like I said, a 2nd from Tampa is a 3rd. Heck, a 1st is a 2nd. Holland holds all the cards. If it's true that 4-5 teams want him, get the best deal, and it won't be a (basically) a 3rd and a mid level prospect. Green could be the piece that wins them a Cup, that's 1st round territory right there. Holland better not accept anything less unless it includes a top prospect.
-
If Holland accepts that, he's a bigger idiot than once thought. A 2nd from Tampa is a 3rd. A 2nd AND Foote? Doable.

You have to wonder whom they were scouting from their NHL roster...no old timers I hope!

Good catch! As is stands right now, we'd have the 34th (from OTT/NYR) and 37th pick in the 2nd! If we get a 27-31 pick for Green and then add our own 1-5? Wow! That is great! Let's just say: (#1 if I'm being selfish! )but how about: #3 #29 #34 #37 plus if we could score a 2nd for Nyquist? Nice! -

Y'all forget that in addition to getting Halak, Foote, Dahlin and all those other draft picks, we're also getting Tavares over the summer...rebuild jump start! -

Here's my Detroit mock draft, I am predicting we finish 5th from bottom and of course win lottery! Plus Here are the trades at the deadline: Howard to NYI for Halak & a 4th (25% retained) Green to TPA for Foote & a 1st (50% retained) Nyquist to Nashville for a 2nd Tatar to Winnipeg for a 3rd XO to MTL for a MTL's 5th (they have 3 total 5ths via trades) of course I am just guessing were these teams end up and where we may pick, but hey, its just a mock! 1st Round: 1st - Dahlin - D 31st (from Green trade) - Ryan McLeod - C 2nd Round: 36th - Mattias Samuelsson - D 45th (from Rangers) - Serron Noel - RW 52nd (from Nyquist Trade) - Justus Annunen - G 3rd Round: 68th - Ryan Savage - RW 90th (from Tatar trade) - Krystof Hrabik - C 81st (from Pitt) - Tyler Tucker - D 4th Round: 98th - Niklas Nordgren - RW 104th (from Howard trade (ISLES)) - Curtis Douglas - C 5th Round: 130th (from XO trade (MTL)) - Johnny Gruden - LW 6th Round: 160th - Lukas Wernblom - C 161st (from MTL) - Liam Kirk - LW 7th Round: 191st - Justin Brazeau - RW GET IT DONE KENNY! GET THOSE DRAFT PICKS! -
I like this! Trade both of them. One to NSH and one to PIT. I'll take draft picks in return.
-
No worries, Detroit Red Wings WILL win the Draft Lottery AND Lidstrom will be there to announce the pick! Rasmus Dahlin!
-
Yet, you didn't say North American Twins to begin with...its ok. Maybe we'll put Western Twins next time.
-
Usually when using the word American, it means American, not North American. But I guess in a technical sense, you are right.
-
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada is not quite American, but close enough! I love the Mississauga area! Hence my affection for Steelheads to become Red Wings!

Yay, hype...

Both Hague and Foote are having great seasons, Cal looks a little meaner! I agree. Any of those would make our future brighter! I too do not know enough about Johansen except he was a 1st rounder in 2016, he was not a high 1st though, he was taken 28th overall.
-
Honestly, if we throw in 50% retained salary, which wouldn't hurt us at all, some of those deals may not be too far fetched. Especially Tampa or Vegas, since they seem to be favorites to win it all right now. Plus Hague was a 2nd round pick, so it's not like we'd be asking for a 1st and 1st round player from them. If that was Vegas' offer, 1st and Hague, and then that was Tampa's counter offer, which would you accept? Hypothetically.... Quick sidenote, Vegas already signed Hague to an ELC, Foote has not been signed as of yet. Doesn't mean one is better than the other, but it could mean that Vegas holds Hague to a higher regard than Tampa does Foote, maybe Tampa throws that deal out there right away and Vegas wants to hold on to Hague. With all the touting of Liljegren last season, imagine if we got that deal, THEN scored the #1 in Dahlin? They may be about the two best Swedish kids in their system right now.

were you even around back then?

Oh! But its ok now....I get it. When everybody likes him except me, its bad o make fun of floating for 20 games, then scoring 3 then floating for 20 more...I get it now. I love being right. Thanks!
