    Detroit's first rounder.

Tippett has all we are looking for, if we are shutout of a top Center. Which if we stay #7-10, would be the wisest choice. IMO. We take Tippitt at #7 and we take Hague in the second. (If still there) Let's say we get #10, we get shutout of all these centers and Tippitt AND Liljegren. Would you be ok with Holland taking Foote at #10? Then following it up with Hague in the 2nd if there? Or would you want him to explore more centers? Let's look at a list of players we think may go in the top 10...players of which we've all talked about: Patrick, Vilardi, Glass, Tippett, Liljegren, Hischier, Necas, Poehling, Makar, Suzuki, Yamamoto, Mittelstadt and Foote. That's 13 players right there that would be nice pickups. If we don't get #1 overall, then my choices would be: Tippett, Vilardi, Peohling, Liljegren. Based on need. You can toss Suzuki in there along with Glass. My point being, it seems there are more than 10 players available at positions WE NEED before we go drafting positions we don't need just because. I like Yamamoto, but damn he's small! 5'7 153lbs! I'm sticking with my ultimate 1st and 2nd round, which would be Tippett and Hague. Probably won't happen (maybe one of them) but if we somehow pulled those two out of the first two rounds? I would worship the air Holland exhales!

    Looking ahead at expansion draft

I agree with Chaps assessment in the other thread. Leave all your "bad contracts" unprotected and force Vegas to take one of them. Protect: Nielsen, Zetterbrg, AA, Mantha, Nyquist, Tatar, Sheahan Ouellet, Jensen, Green (since he has the 1 year left and could fetch a few picks) Mrazek of the exposed players, the most in danger of being selected are Helm, Abby, Howard and Dekeyser. I don't think Kronwall will be in any danger, and Ericsson is a hunk of garbage, so he is safe (unfortunately.) Glendening on down should be safe unless Vegas has their NHL roster and are looking to stockpile their AHL team.

Ken Holland on 97.1 this morning.

He has a full NMC next season too. His modified NTC kicks in 2018-19.

all the more reason to draft Norm Pettersson. size and physicality.

    Targets for the Wings

how long until the racism police are all over the title of you thread? Lord knows I can't even say Swedish without being blasted! Anyhow, Good for Cholowski. Let's see if he can make it a step closer!

I honestly belive we have a chance at one of the guys we've all been talking about. Especially Tippett. If we luck out and get a #3, Vilardi should be our target. Not unless he does something stupid and drafts a position player we aren't in need of. Top 3 our targets should be Patrick or Vilardi. If we draft 7-10 our target should be Tippett. By the words I heard from his interview though, it sounded like he wasn't greatly impressed by Sproul, Ouellet or Jensen. Maybe he'll draft Liljegren. If so, I hope he is able to get Hague in the 2nd round.

We need a C or RW or D.

Ken Holland on 97.1 this morning.

He said he hopes AA can continue to develope next year and become even more important to this team. He's being protected. He also said there will be lots of possible movement before the draft, so why would he leave him unprotected and possibly lose him for free, if he could trade him for a very nice return? Not that I think he'll do either, but most definitely if he's not part of your future trade him instead of giving him away to Vegas. I give Holland a lot of crappie, but I really don't think he's that stupid. Two of the dumbest things he could do that would stain his legacy here is lose AA to expansion and then draft a player in a position we don't need with a top 10 pick. Do you think he WANTS to get fired?

Hey look, boy I was wrong! If this can happen to Steve Rogers, then Norm Pettersson can do it too!

Always resorts to name calling. From your post count, seems like we don't hear from you too much at all. On the rare occasion that you post something, you have nothing better to say than name call? You may as well just stop posting all together until you have something to bring to the conversation. No, I didn't. It was just a VERY bad example. Not unless those type of roids are allowed in the NHL. He better start eating his Wheaties.

  21. Pretty cool! She should now spread some in the LCA box to lay claim to it. Doesn't matter the building, Battling Bob is the ruler of the Sin Bin's in Detroit.

I guess I can't disagree with you there. Isn't that what Axel Holmstrom is here for though? Seriously though, we have more pressing needs than another undersized leftwing.

    Detroit's first rounder.

Holland needs to draft what this team needs. We don't need a left wing, let alone a 150lb. Swedish left wing. There is only one Zetterberg, this kid will not be the next Z. Just like Nyquist and Tatar were not the next Euro Twins, much like they were touted to be by many "eexperts." We need a C, a sniping RW and a D. Pettersson is none of those. Not as new as your next username. How many are we at now?

And for what it's worth, Kindl was the 2nd ranked Euro D in 2005. Maybe he was the highest ranked Euro D...look how that turned out. If Holland drafts that Pettersson kid, I'm out, not a tad overboard. Look at the players who he shows just after our pick. A few of them have been talked about in the top 5, also positions we are in need of. WE ARE NOT IN NEED OF A 150LB. SWEDISH LEFTWING! We're already stuck with a jenky one in Nyquist. Ugh! Number 2 ranked euro...Sheesh! How about the #7 ranked player PERIOD! we need center, rw and d. If we're 7-10, Tippett must be our pick.

    Jacob Trouba

Trading AA or Larkin for Trouba is making a hole to fill another. If it costs a ton, then don't bother. You cannot take away from the core up front. AA, Larkin and Mantha should be untouchable. But hey, Holland can always trade all three, draft Hakan Sweden and we'll be fine!
