Blah, he's not even in my rear view mirror anymore....he'll never play again, so his salary and roster spot will always be available. But, if a team needs to hit the basement floor, give us a 7th for his contract.

I think if we end up with 3 1sts, we need to turn one of those plus a player for something we can use immediately. Not for a playoff run, but a young player that will make this team better and be on the team full time.

All these D-Men moving, it's going to be oh well on Smith. All the teams that had said they were interested in him are acquiring others... Holland may be screwing the pooch as we speak.

Our luck tomorrow, all of Vanek, Green, Smith and Ott will go down to injury....then I guess we're standing pat! Honestly though, as a precaution, I'd like to see all players who have been mention in trades to have the night off!

With the prices this year, just think how many more 1st we could get! Vanek, Green, Nyquist, Sheahan(rumored) hell that's 4 more right there!

I wouldn't say we NEED to trade them, but prices are high this deadline so getting a nice return for them would be great! If indeed there are contenders wanting Vanek, they are willing to outbid each other, get the highest bid.

Well if that's the case, then one of Abby and Helm get left unprotected. Either way, I think any one of those four would get taken before XO or Sproul.

Could you imagine if we got a 1st for Sheahan? Crazy! The only thing that may hold some water is the lack of strength in this year's draft class. But it would be great!

Listen, you protect Nielsen, AA, Mantha, Zetterberg, then any 3 of Helm, Abby, Tatar, Nyquist, Glendening, Sheahan. What are the odds he leaves Abby and Helm unprotected? So now you choose one of Nyquist or Tatar. If either of those two are available, odds are they're not looking at XO or Sproul. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I think they'd ****** one of the forwards up first. They curse word filter censored my word! It rhymes with catch, but with a SN.

If the trade Smith, I would be perfectly OK with them protecting DD, Green and Jensen. SO happy for my boy Jensen for coming so far! Especially after all the slack I took a couple of seasons ago! ...but $3.5 to $3.75M for Smith? No thanks.

Not that this thread is about those two, in hindsight you may want them back, but the difference is, we don't have Legwand or Cole taking up a roster spot anymore, but if we had those two back, we'd have no room for all the players with Holland's unmovable contracts... Or Mantha and AA would still be in GR, possibly along with Larkin. -

If this is the case, then a 1st, HIGH prospect and another element is an over payment in most GM's minds...Look like unless they lower the price significantly, they may lose him for nothing...
