IMO, last night Jensen and Smith were our best D.
-
No, didn't say it was pointless. Just making light of the way the discussion was sounding. Of course if we were looking for a coach, there's no doubt we'd probably be the most attractive place to go. Too bad Holland won't even kick tires on a coaching change.
-
Fact is, we weren't so good last year either, IMO having another year of an unhappy or unmotivated Datsyuk wouldn't change our standing. Top 5 for sure. 1. Howe 2. Yzerman 3. Lidstrom 4. Fedorov 5. Datsyuk Did we have players play here that are ultimately better than Datsyuk? Yes. Re:Shanny, he's #6 in my book.

I'd love Julien here, but we're talking like he interviewed for the job(s) and is in the process of choosing. Holland isn't going to fire Blashill so saying we are the obvious choice for Julien or Hitchcock is pointless. We won't have a vacancy nowhere in the future, near or far.

02/07 GDT : Columbus Blue Jackets 3, at Red Wings 2 (OT)

The fine for calling out refs is peanuts compared to salary. It'd be nice just to hear someone say the refs blew it. -

...and the refs strike again. There has to be some kind of fine for blatant non calls like that that lead right to a goal. Especially a game winning goal. This is why I can't stand watching this s***. When your team is battling for a spot and the refs take the game right away from them...typical bulls***. You cannot NOT call that in OT. -

Z and Tatar followed by Helm and Nyquist. Ugh... -

Great time for a penalty.... It's pretty sad there's only 7 of us here... -
Yes but, with the right coach, the star power can be there.... Larkin used correctly, AA used correctly, Mantha used correctly, Kronwall and Ericsson OUT! Nyquist 4th line or pressbox...pick a damn goalie and maybe we can get some s*** turned in the right direction without tanking or breaking the streak!

Want to assemble the ultimate coaching staff? Hitchcock, Julien and Gallant. Vegas can have Blashill.

It's amazing...I want to work for The Wings, I could perform my job to the least of their expectations and never get fired. Talk about job security! Hey. LW, we know you're the worst [insert job title] we've ever had, but dammit, here's a raise and an extension!
-
Here's the sad...while I enjoy seeing our once great rival stinking, but this is all Uncle Gary's fault. This is what he wanted with league parity. He wanted to justify teams in non nhl cities by taking away from the diehard 100 year fans over generations in Hockey hotbeds.its sad to see teams like Detroit, Colorado and New Jersey scraping the bottom directly because of Bettman. Las Vegas will no doubtedly finish higher than all of us next season. I know some older teams are excelling, but it's sad to see some of the once great teams and dynasties struggle to even look like a nhl team.

Besides, in that example, I keep Fowler!

I could only dream that Ericsson would be a healthy scratch! We cannot forget, gr won a championship with Jensen, Sproul and XO all playing. They have chemistry.

From what I saw he was good. He threw his weight around and got snarley when he needed. Hey, we're undefeated with him in, go with it! -
If Jensen is as bad as poel is stating, then it would've been him waived and not Marchenko. If Marchenko was better than 50% of our D, he'd still be here. I criticize Holland a TON, but he didn't just fall out of the idiot tree. He would waive the player that impacts this team the least. I still wish it was Ericsson, but the money savings isn't there.

Don't look now, back to within 6 points of wildcard. They're going to mess around and make it....watch. again I want them to sell off a bunch of these overpaid contracts, but if I know Holland, and we all do, if he is anywhere near a couple of wins out of the playoffs at the deadline, there will be no sale. -
