I should have said, if we cannot trade them. I would absolutely rather trade for a return. I was only referring to if all we could do is send players to GR. I'd much rather waive E or Smith, than the others. But for sure if we could get a return for any of them, I'd much rather do that... I do agree that Marchenko is the weakest link (outside of Ericsson) if we could trade him, I'd be in for that as well!

all to keep inferior players like Ericsson and Kronwall...I would rather just waive E or Smith, if someone claims them, great, if they clear then we at least get a little cap relief out of it. At this point I think it would be very unwise to risk losing any of Sproul, Jensen or Marchenko.

I think there is a time limit to him being sent back. If he is here for less than the limit, I think he's safe, if he stays over, he's not...I'm just not sure what the cutoff is.

9, Dude, you're smoking the reefer if you think they'll trade Mrazek. Howard is in his final season with Detroit. He will be either traded, claimed or bought out. Players with NTC get moved all the time and not just because they want to. They get asked to submit a list of teams they will or will not go to. Kesler being one of the more recent players, Marty st. Louis was another. You don't seem to understand how it works..sure they can always NOT waive the clause, that is the control they have. Jimmy may very well not waive it because he doesn't want to leave, but by no means does it make him unmovable. If he wants to play as a #1, he'll waive it. If he wants to not play, then he won't and he'll either watch Mrazek and Coreau next season or get bought out...or maybe be waived. A NTC doesn't prevent that either.

Players with NTC get traded all the time. If Holland has a deal with a better team that would use Jimmy as a starter, Jimmy would probably waive his NTC. NMC are a different story, but they aren't unmovable.

I've ALWAYS been a huge fan of Jensen. In the past, I ALWAYS added him to my roster. If/when he gets sent back down, he may not clear waivers this time. Which will be a sad day in the organization when we possibly lose him in order to have Ericsson and Kronwall. All 4 of Sproul, XO, Marchenko and Jensen should be playing over those two.

Ya, but if they really want him they would be willing to pay up. I don't understand why folks think when it's us shopping, we have to pay up to outbid people, but when someone actually really wants something we have, we aren't going to get crap for it. This is nothing directed towards anyone, it just seems a general concensus. Look what we had to give up for Legwand, when a team wants a player they offer up to make sure they get the player. If Chicago feels Vanek is their missing piece, a 25-30 1st round pick plus a legit chance at another Cup is not too expensive. Especially to the Bowman's.
