I like it, but Ott will be here for the duration. Holland likes him, Blashill likes him, he's used in most important situations. Move Abby up with AA & Z, then put Ott back on the 4th. Now fund one more forward. Just stick Bertuzzi in there and Frk as the 13th. That's a ton of turnover though...Holland won't trade Nyquist, he can't after this year without Nyquists permission, he has a NTC that kicks in next season. But if we could deal him, Tatar and Sheahan in some deals for picks or as in packages for some sort of need, that would be great. I belive Miller and Smith will not be re-signed and Kringewall is two steps away from LTIR.

Well we'll see how things start to change with Vanek tonight.

I agree. I am sure they want to see if he remains consistent. Which, if he does, is better for us.
-
Yes, but without giving up Larkin, AA or Mantha you aren't even going to get a sniff of OEL, Ekblad and the ilk. Hell, those are all franchise players, we may not even get them WITH the guys you mentioned. We'll be lucky to land 1b type d-men with "potential" like Trouba, Fowler, Hamilton. I agree, but our O was doing fine when Vanek and AA were healthy...at least better than now. If we got two of the four D-Men being talked about and our forwards stayed healthy, we'd be fine. BUT Kringewall has to sit, he just isn't NHL caliber anymore. I mentioned it another time, get one of Trouba/Fowler/Hamilton NOW and then get another one later or Shattenkirk as a UFA. It starts with the D.

We need to trade Jimmy NOW while his value is high(er.) Sure, if he continues to play this way it will only make him more valuable, but do we risk holding on to him too long and having his stock fall? What I am saying, we're talking about Holland here, of course we'll hold on to him until his stock falls.

Can We Please Stop Putting Teams In Unsustainable Cities?
LeftWinger replied to LeftWinger's topic in General
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying Vegas is going to move, I was just saying that because it seems that these teams that go where its not really a hockey hotbed, seem to be the first ones to go elsewhere. Yes, Quebec and Hartford are examples of teams in an established city, but for the most part, these teams that move move again after a while...or at least we hear that they are up for sale and may possibly move. -
Neither green nor Vanek will be traded.

Should we unlock the "Fixing This Mess" thread?
-
I don't think it was the wrong idea to sit Smith, it was just wrong to play Kronwall. XO should've gotten in. I'm going to start calling him Kringewall. Damn do we need Vanek and AA back!
-
How many losses do we have to endure until Holland makes a trade? We were 6-2 at one point, we're 2-7-1 since. Heads must roll.
-
Are you talking about the NHL? Or the United States Government?
-
what happened to Oshie? Didn't he start the game?
-
I don't remember that, was that called a penalty? WOW!
-
Remember when the Caps were at the Joe last season and Ovi was trying to break Feds goal record? Hell, he had like 15 shots on goal alone! Petr stopped them all! Lets hope Howard has something for Ovi tonight, because he has only scored 1 goal in his last 7 games, he'll be looking to pile up the goals against our lame D.

Let's Go Wings?

IMO, Holland needs to field calls NOW about Howard and trade him while his value is relatively high. I'll cut him some slack with the Montreal game, because right now they are the best in the NHL, and he was due for a down game. But, if in his next start he takes another poop, we probably missed the opportunity to get high value for him. I think if there is any substance to the rumor with Calgary, this trade needs to be done. If you can get your D better, then your goalie will be better, thats not rocket science. If they could acquire Hamilton, then it needs to be done. I believe any one of Trouba, Fowler, Shattenkirk, Hamilton makes this team harder to play against and makes our D that much better. I'm still in favor of acquiring a D now, then clearing cap space before July 1 and throw your basket at Shatty. Unless Winnipeg comes down with their demands, Trouba seems to be a pipe dream. But Fowler or Hamilton are attainable...maybe both, then you wouldn't have to worry about Shatty in July.

Look at it this way, a lot of us didn't want Helm back....a lot of us didn't want Miller back...with Helm out and if blashill sits Miller more, we will see what we would have had if they hadn't been signed.
-
I'm in! Capfriendly.com is back...whew!
-
I'd be ok with Howard/Tatar/2nd. Don't really need Elliot, so maybe ditch the 2nd? Unrelated note: CAPFRIENDLY.COM ISN'T WORKING!!!! UGH DON'T TAKE ANOTHER ONE AWAY!!!!!
-
Do you have any lottery numbers you can give me?
-
Now, to be fair, and I am far from a fan of his, he did play in 77 games last season and 75 the season prior... That's 93% and 91% of the games.
-
Whew! That is too high for Hamilton. I admire your enthusiasm and want to get him, but even Kypreos thinks his value isn't too high right now. Not sure about the rumors they are interested in Howard, but IMO, DD, Svech and a 2nd is too much. Besides KH loves his draft picks, especially his 2nd rounders! What is the asking price? Not sure, but you probably arent too far off with what they'd expect to get in return. I just think they'll get a lot less than they want. I am liking two trades, Howard+ for Hamilton and Mantha/Nyquist for Fowler.
-
...and Bertuzzi has been recalled...again. he had to make a u-turn at the Lowell exit.
-
I agree. Fowler, Trouba, Hamilton, Shattenkirk, Santini, ok I just threw that last one in there...
