I was just saying that don't be fooled by Holland when he says Nielsen was his first choice. We all felt that if Holland didn't move Pav's contract he should be fired. It's just more lies trying to fool the fans that he wasn't interested in Stamkos in the first place by saying Nielsen was his first choice.

Don't believe what Holland tells you, Nielsen was NOT his #1 choice. He only said that to save face after getting stiffed by not even getting a chance to talk to Stamkos. That is the only reason he traded Dats contract, not to sign Nielsen, but to get a shot at Stamkos. Hindsight, of course, he should have kept Dats, drafted Chychrun and then tried Vanek. But, we all were calling for his head if he DIDN'T move that contract, outside of us feeling that Stammer wouldn't choose us, none of us could predict that we wouldn't even get a chance to talk to him. The thing is, I am not so sure anyone else wanted Dats contract, ARZ only wanted it to get Chychrun, if he was already selected, we'd still have Dat's cap hit.

So not a Jimmy fan, BUT, I think maybe Petr has gotten too comfortable now that he has been named #1. As soon as he took over last season as the legit #1, it seemed he got a bit too cocky and he has been struggling ever since. Maybe its time to play Jimmy for a 10 game stretch as the #1 and reiterate to Petr that nothing is given to you on a platter, and then maybe he'll re-find some focus to put him back on the track he was pre-birthday last season. He may need to see that his job can be taken away as quick as he earned it. Rough love...

LIke I said, the "kids" back in the early 90's were played every night and were allowed to lose and grow and learn to play together....that was when Devellano and Murray were here, then Bowman. We're seeing how much Holland values his "kids" and we're seeing what Blashill thinks of icing a team of kids and letting them learn and grow. I don't care what your pay check is, if you aren't playing up to professional status, you sit. Sorry, this is a business and fans pay YUGE amounts of cash to see a team play well, win or lose, the want to see a competitive team, not this dump and chase, clear off the boards, throw to an open wing and ***** foot passes around instead of shooting type game we are seeing. This is garbage hockey, and the garbage coaching is hindering the development of the like of Larkin, AA, Sproul, etc... I seriously thought we were getting a good coach that would change the philosophy here....nope. I agree, but Mantha on the 4th line won't. We all know there has to be a piano mover on every flipping line so there is no way Mantha would help us if he is inserted on the 4th because Abby and Sheahan have to be top 6. Then Blashill will say how much Mantha isn't working hard enough and how he didn't like 10 minutes of his play...all while outplaying most of the team.
