BTW, we won and no ### of posts for a victory thread. Guess we started (or ended) a tradition for at least this playoff run...

I'm not going to all of a sudden claim to be on the Smith bandwagon, but he proved why he belongs playing. I'll take him over KFQ or Ericsson all day. This is also why he may generate some interest in trade. Like I said, he should be in over E and now it seems over KFQ, but if you aren't going to play him all the time, trade him. He needs to play.

Still not enough AA. Blashill needs to unleash the Krakenasiou. No changes in lineup for Tuesday please.

Smith will play well, make one mistake, even if we win, he'll be out game 4. Man we sure know this coach, eh?

I haven't seen anything of Mantha being called up, so there goes that but here are my changes: Smith in for Ericsson....Jurco in for Andersson...Mrazek in for Howard...Pulkkinen in for Nyquist. Tatar - Larkin - Athanasiou Helm - Richards - Jurco Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Abdelkader Pulkkinen - Sheahan - Glendening Dekeyser - Smith Kronwall - Green KFQ - Marchenko Those are my changes and lines to start the game. Wings win 4-2.....no changes, Wings lose 5-1...

I agree, there are going to be tons of upset users here WHEN Holland doesn't do anything to better or change this team. He won't trade Ericcson, Smith, Pulk, Jurco or Howard. He'll re-sign Helm to Abby money and term, he'll re-sign KFQ to $5M, DD to $6M, Mrazek to $5M and as soon as he hears from Dats he"ll resign Richards as insurance. Of course he won't trade Dats contract either. All kidding aside, the nightmare is, there is a possibility that this team would be EXACTLY the same next year...and possibly minus Datsyuk.

Problem is Lucic makes $6M now, I don't think he'll take a pay cut, let alone to come here. I know his salary only says $3.5M in LA, but Boston is also still paying him $2.5M.

The fix starts by trading the fat at the draft along with some extra players. You start it off by getting better by subtraction. I know Kronwall will never be dealt, but I'd do it. Howard, Ericcson, one of Nyquist/Tatar, if you aren't going to play Smith, Jurco or Pulkkinen for petes sake trade them to a team that will! I could see Smith in Boston, Jurco in Florida and Pulkkinen in Edmonton. Do not resign the UFA'S except Helm at a nice modest price, maybe Richards if Datsyuk leaves and you strike out on the big name guys. As much as I'd like to have Stamkos, the way we get manhandled, maybe we should go after Backes instead. If Datsyuk leaves and our center group is Larkin, Backes, Sheahan and Glendening, we would be better. Move Z to the wing (or retirement) and absolutely play Athanasiou top 6.

Blashill was supposed to be better because he coached the kids, but he is coaching a bunch of old broke down or s***ty players and playing them more. Jakub Kindl is a better player than Ericsson. Even though I am not their biggest fan, but I venture to wonder if we'd be doing any better with Smith and Kindl in the lineup over Ericsson and Kronwall. I cannot believe he didn't change the lineup or lines... I will not be watching (again) the same trash if no changes are made.

exactly...we have Jurco who hasn't been horrible to take the 4th line spot. Why Andersson? When Blashill took over, I thought I was done questioning line combos... I'd almost be afraid to see where Stamkos would play if he was brought here...3rd line behind Z and Dats?

IMO, if Mantha isn't ready then it shouldn't be him in...but it damn sure shouldn't be Andersjunk either! If you ask me, I am done with ALL of our Swedish meatballs. Kronner sucks, Ericsson sucks worse than sucks, Nyquist is horrible, Z is old and broken. Andersson is an AHL player that nobody in the NHL even wants on their team. I know we cannot trade all of them, but if this were my team, I would trade all except Z and make him play 3rd and 4th line minutes. You have a team full of centers, put Jurco in on the 4th line! AA needs to be top 6!

I certainly hope those are just your projected lines...if there are no changes, then there will be no different result. As always, Go Wings....but until the s***ty lines are ALL moved around and the hunk of crap players are in the pressbox, this team will fail. Sorry....reality. If, indeed, those are the lineups, I won't even waste my time watching tonight. Your two best players are in the bottom 6, Mr. Dump the puck as soon I as get it Nyquist is in the top 6. It's like Blashill sorts his lines by payroll. Hell, I could get a coaching job if that'a all it takes... If AA and Larkin get top 6 minutes and Smith replaces Ericsson: Wings win 4-2 If the lineup is the same and the lines are as well: TPA 5-1

All you saying Z is done. Not that I don't disagree, but I remember a couple months or so ago when I said "Z should retire" and "we have 5 more years of him" I caught holy hell, even got a 7 day suspension arguing about it.
