If the "teammate" indeed turn over the text message, what a dick. I don't care if it was the wrong thing to text, or even if he hit the linesman on purpose, you don't dick over your friend that way. Of course they most likely aren't friends anymore and I don't doubt there is some retribution coming...and I don't blame Wideman if he does. It doesn't matter if what Wideman did was wrong or right, you don't rat out your fellow player unless you had an agenda. In the working world that is called being a company man. This "teammate" had no reason to rat him out on the text. He had no interest in the case, but now he is balls deep in it. Revenge will be sweet. Again, I am not condoning the hit, nor even the stupid text, but man, what a dick move by the teammate. That is worse than the incident itself and I hope the rest of the team takes care of it. Unless Wideman sent out a multiple text to many teammates, then he knows exactly who it was and s***s gonna get real, really soon...

Well, since I was referrenced do I get a 30 second response? Sorry couldn't resist in this election year! Anyhow, I live a bit north of GR and have been there for over 3 years now, I do and did prior years get to see a good amount of Griffins games. I am just saying, that when I watched all four of the kids play at the same time, it just seemed like Jensen was a bit better IMO. I am not arguing that fact that there isn't something about him that is keeping him from getting his shot in Detroit. They do see him TONS more than me or anyone else here. I just said that I think he is more valuable than dickie thinks and I hope he gets a shot in Detroit. I'd hate to lose him for free, but that's business. Will Detroit be the worst team without him? Of course not, but if I'm slotting him to be a #6/#7 guy, he is better than Kindl and makes a buttload less money. I'd be fine with him slotting in #6/#7 next season, it means he will get the shot he deserves (IMO) and he could maybe steal a #5 job here. I'd rather have Jensen at #5 than Ericsson, for the money and for the quality of play. But I just call it as I see him play, maybe there's something else holding him back and if that's the case, that is too bad....but I do agree that if he is placed on waivers, someone will give him a shot and I hope he makes the best of it.

Howard is no insurance, period. Get rid of him ASAP, bring Coreau up. I've said it before and still believe that Coreau can come up and do just as well (or not well) as Jimmy and all at 5X lessor the money. Clear that cap now! Trade him for future's just to get some relief.

My first choice is to let him walk. But, if the "kids" aren't in the plans and we stike out on upgrading, go ahead a re-sign him at a lessor contract for a year.

all debating aside, when I've watched the Griffins, Jensen always looks like the better of the kids, but obviously there something I'm missing, there has to be. I hope he gets his shot next season and makes it hard for Holland to waive him. He's NHL ready. He may not be top pairing, but he would slot in well 4-6 on most teams. I personally hope its here. I like XO and Sproul as well, I wish we had room for all four, but I think we'll be lucky if we get to keep 2 of them...unfortunately...

Well, I admit, I am in Jensen's court. Everytime I see him play he looks the best and most poised of the kids they have, and that included XO and Marchy when they were all in GR. But, obviously there is something holding him back. He'll have a job someday in the NHL and I hope its in Detroit, if not, then oh well, I am sure they know what's best for the team. He always does so well in training camp too....oh well.

I think Nick Jensen pooped in Dickie's cheerios...he is more critical of him than I am of Helm!

I agree with all of you on Jensen....I sure wish he would get a shot at least. E being out is great! Not to harp on an injury, but it's time to see what another young gun can do.

I see on the roster that Kindl is still here...wonder what the callup is for. Even with Kronwall still out, they had 7 defensemen. Would it be too much for me to hope that Ericsson gets a night off? Hicketts is 5'8" 174lbs. Jensen 6'1" 194lbs. I am beginning to think that Jensen won't be around too much longer, he is signed through next season, but he just is not getting any bones. He got called up for a game and was a healthy scratch....Poor Sproul hasn't even gotten that much...
