So, our goalie battle is over, so we are talking about other teams' goalie battles? Honestly though, I had a good feeling about Coreau when they signed him. I may have mentioned him a few times in some of my "trade Jimmy" rants/scenarios. I was a bit disappointed when he seemed to be struggling at the AHL level last year and prior, but I am encouraged at his development thus far this year and with some more experience , I can really see him being Petr's backup sooner rather than later....if he does get better, that would take a lot of pressure off of Holland to try to find a backup if indeed Howard does get traded. Unfortunately with Mrazek taking over the job, his pricetag went up to re-sign. I think he is going to get at least $4M, which with Holland looking for a big scorer or big D man, PLUS having to re-sign Sheahan, Dekeyser, Marchy and Pulk, its gonna get tight! Especially with Abby's $4M+ and if he gives Helm $4M+...

I'm just saying, you acquire Byfuglien, he sews up the toughness on the top end of the D PLUS you can plant him in front of the net on the PP unit, then put Green back there with his shot and the PP has got to get better! (unless of course Byf gets hit in the PP, then ouch! )

I'd love someone now, but we know Holland...I can only hope he gets a great deal in place by the deadline for a legit sniper, if not then, draft day, if not then July 1st. I always hold out hope for upgrade in O and D.

I think his chances are slim, but it could happen. Espcially if he starts healthy next year and stays healthy, and especially if Holland gets a sniper to play next season....oh, it would help tremendously to get Helm off his line. Right now he sits at .96 PPG so if he played 1000 games, he'd get to 960 points....that is why if he stays healthy this season and starts and stays next I say he'd get pretty close. With that average of .96 PPG he'd top 1000 points in if he played in 1042 games. Which is 127 more to play in! He'd have to play one more season after next to even get to 1000 games played, unless he turned into a iron man this rest of this season and next!

Lets Go Wings! I tend to believe Mrazek will be back in net! Larkin with more points, Tats with 2 goals, Green with points!

with Z, D, Johan, and Hossa all topping 30 goals that year, it shows just how important it is to have a sniper AND a legit top tier defenseman on your team. Didn't like him, but that year Johan was great and having him and Z along with Pav and Hossa, teams didn't know where to put their best line against us. How many of Hossa's 40 or Johan's 34 goals were a result of Holmstrom standing in front of the net as well? We need that legit threat as well, Which is why somehow acquiring a talent like Stamkos or a huge ass body for the front would help all of our top guys. Right now we have Larkin and Tatar who are biggest threats to score, Pav and Z are threats, but not as much. I like Abby, but we really have no Holmstrom (outside of Axel).....We need that top defender, a sniper and a net front master, maybe getting two of the three allows the third to develop from within...But who do we get? I still think Larkin and Tatar will get to 30, if not then they'll be the closest to it. Nyquist and the rest mentioned throughout this thread will get between 20-25.

Not a Howard or D-Man thread.... I belive Tatar and Larkin are shoe in's for 30ish. Nyquist, Z, maybe Abby with 20-25. I seem to be going a bit off on my Mike Green origianl prediction, but I did say it was a bold one! Hey, maybe he'll have an All-Star sencond half!

With Howard in net, it doesn't bode well....he cannot stand on his chin like Mrazek can.... (his nose gets in the way! Ba Dum Tss!) Seriously though he can't....Wings better buckle down and score some goals, it may be 4-0 quickly...

Mrazek with another gem....Howard one more step to being traded. Larkin with another point, serious ROY contender. Still need a trade to put us over but its nice to rattle off a few in a row.

I've always said he was a wasted 1st rounder. He has showed me flashes of maybe, just maybe he could stay in the lineup, but for the most part of the last 10 years, I had wished we didn't draft him. In hindsight, we could've drafted Niskinen instead...or Oshie. But, we aren't the only team to draft a D-Man before Niskinen that didn't pan out. Draft's are always gamble. I do remember screaming when they picked him though, it was the lottery draft and that was the highest pick we've had in a log time and I hated that it was wasted on another soft European style player. I actually wanted then to draft Latendresse, whowent after Abdelkader in the 2nd, but looking back, Oshie would've been good and James Neal as well! But who knew!?!? Didn't like the Kindl pick, that's all I know. Again, too bad we couldn't swing a deal to get some kind of return for him, but I guess we'll have to settle for the roster spot and the cap relief as the return...anyone know his cap hit if he gets to go to GR? I think you can only bury $950,000 and then there's some kind of percentage thing that happens... Kindl and Nedomnel for Kirby Rychel. That'd work for me.

Wow! Didn't think they'd actually do it! Sad that nobody wanted him in trade for a pick, but maybe Holland could've packaged a little deal for Rychel....I bet Edmonton picks him up.

You and me bro...I've been saying it for 3 years. I am used to getting dumped on though, but I like when things work in my favor. Hudler, Franzen, Howard. Three guys that I have been piled on piled on for the last however many years. But, in the end, all is right. Hudler, gone, Franzen, gone (99%) and Howard pushed out of his starting job, probably soon to be gone. Now I just got to get rid of Helm! Although if Sheahan gets dealt, the I will be the first to admit it, we need to keep Helm for the time being, just don't give him more than $3.5M PLEASE!!! But we can all agree ( I think we can ) that Mrazek has won the "goalie battle."

Wow, that's an insane blockbuster deal..but lets analyze what we'd lose and if we had the means to replace them First off, I'd HATE to trade Sheahan, BUT, we would still have Helm and Glenny along with getting Drouin and having AA ready to come up. We lose Nyquist, but meh, we'd have Stamkos playing with Larkin, we'd still have Z and Tatar and Datsyuk along with Jurco. Marchy would be a tough loss, especially one of our RH'd d-men, but we do have XO, Sproul and Jensen who must either be traded or waived if they don't make the team. I think XO and Jensen are NHL ready, havn't seen much of Sproul. Mantha would be a tough pill to swallow, but again, we would have Stamkos for 8 more years, Drouin, Larkin, Tatar, Jurco, AA..maybe Holland still makes a play for Rychel as well. I think getting a player like Stamkos, with his 50 goal potential, and having players really ready to assume the role(s) of Nyquist and Sheahan and Marchenko, this would be a deal you just couldn't pass up. I don't know how much it helps us on the D, but if we are only losing Marchy, and we call up XO, I think that may be a wash. Plus it may move Helm out of the top 6 to where he belongs... What the heck would the lines look like with Stammer and Drouin? Drouin is a LW so he could slot anywhere... Larkin - Stamkos - Tatar Drouin - Z - Abdelkader Jurco - Dastyuk - Pulkkinen Miller - Glenny - Helm AA/Andy Dekeyser - Smith Kronwall - Green Ericsson - XO Jensen/Kindl I wonder if Stevie would be interested in Ericsson to pair up with Hedman? Also, I would NOT approve of Stammer wearing #91 though...give him 15 or 14. The players I'd hate to lose the most would be Sheahan and Marchy, but we do have players who can step up and fill their roles...

not to turn this into a discussion about Delta, but I will answer your question. I know the figure because I work there and have for 25+ years with NWA/Delta. I also get a huge, no wait, HUGE profit sharing check that gets bigger and bigger every year. This year alone, for only working 40 hours per week it moves well into the 5 digits. Our wages are top amongst our piers, right now there isn't much going wrong with them. They own their own refinery, so they pay very little in fuel costs...last we topped $4.5B in pure profits, this year $6B. Stock will hit $60 this year and won't look back...I am sure a plateau or downfall is coming, as it does in all companies, hopefully I can enjoy the fruits of my (hard) labor for awhile before that happens though! that is why I'd like to see Delta Centre (idiotic?) as a name...a little pride in the name! (plus we already get discounted tickets, maybe the discounts will be more! )

Larkin IS generational, he is the best 19 year old we've had since Yzerman and is the best rookie we've had since Zetterberg.

I like it. I've been off the E badwagon for a long time now, and would love to trade him. In your setup, we also lose Sproul, but maybe he and E can be in a package deal to get us a sniper or someone with pugnaciousness. XO, Marchy and Jensen are all ready to make the jump....Marchy already has!
