Awww, I liked your first edit! He difinitely makes out PK better. I'd like to amend my trade with Nashville. IF they were offering Weber and Mantha was on their want list, I'd do it.

Either way, if we keep two of them or four of them, I sure would like to get something for them instead of waiver loss...

Doan what ifs again? Just kidding... ...frenchie XO? Wow....bottom line is, IMO all 4 kids would be better in place of E, K, Q and Smith maybe. Unfortunately we won't have room for all 4 kids next season and the only 2 that haven't seen NHL time yet are Jensen and Sproul. They are both RH'd as well. Not that that is the deciding factor, but it is an issue Holland had in the past and probably wouldn't want to ditch both of them. Marchy is here, of the three left, XO and Sproul are probably the most valuable ones and like KRSmith mentioned, are the most susceptible to being snatched off the waiver wire ahead of Jensen. We won't have room for all of them, we may as well try to get something for them this deadline (or sooner) in a package that brings us an important piece to our puzzle. I don't want to lose any of them and would gladly replace the 4 NHLr's I mentioned with all of them, but in the real world, we need a big #1/#2 guy and if it takes a package that includes one of XO or Sproul, I wouldn't be too upset in that trade off. Ideally we acquire a top guy (he will replace Q's roster spot) and then trade two of K, E, Smith in order to make room for 2 of the remaining 3 kids left to come up. It might take Smith, Sproul (and more) to get a top pairing guy, so that would leave us room for not losing any of Marchy, XO and Jensen after K is waived or dealt for scraps... I'd love to be in the sweeps for Byfuglien and would love to see a lineup that looks like this: (I know, I know, not another line combo! ) Kronwall - Byfuglien Dekeyser - Green XO - Ericsson (if he is not dealt (which is unlikely anyhow)) Jensen I'd actually rather see E get traded over Smith, but Smith probably has more return value...
-
Sure wish Jensen could get a shot at a call up. IMO, of the 4 kids, Sproul and XO are the most tradeable guys and would hate to lose Jensen over those two. It's obvious Marchy is here for good, but we don't have room for all 4 of them next season, deals will have to be made.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything new from this situation? Is he going to attempt again, or is he done for good? I guess as long as he is not taking a roster spot or his cap is not hurting the team, it doesn't matter, but just curious if we have had any updates....

Jimmy, I like it. It would certainly be worth the experiment for a game or five, since he is immune to waivers, he can come and go as he is needed while we have injuries opening up a roster position. I'd like to see what he can do. If you recall, he and Larkin did pretty damn good in the pre-season together as well. I know it was only pre-season, but he along with Larkin and Jensen really look quite good. Of course we know which way Larkin is headed, but again, I'd like to see Mantha get about 10-15 games in this year playing in that sniper position to see if he can translate his junior success into the NHL. Helm has no business on Pav's line, let alone in the top 6 anyhow. Larkin - Z - Abby Jurco - Pav - Mantha Nyquist - Sheahan - Tatar ....interesting, interesting indeed....

I happen to think Blash is doing quite well for his rookie campaign. Its not like he stepped into a situation where he had superstars coming out of his ears (like our former coach did) and he is still near the top of the division. I am way more happy with the way he handles his lines than our former coach did (with the exception of Helm, but that's another subject.) I love the fact that he plays his most deserving players and doesn't have to ideology that the vets win the spot over the kids. He doesn't seem too interested in purposely s***canning a players career for personal reasons like our former coach, and already tries to seek help and advice from all avenues and shows a willingness to learn more rather than having things his way or they highway. (of course that philosophy worked well for Bowman, but then again, there is only one Bowman.) IMO, if he'd let Blash, I'd pick Larionov's brain as much as I could in order to get this offense a little more consistant.

He has 12 pts and fills our need for a RH D-man. Why are we paying Kronwall $4m+ for 13 pts, -5. Why are we paying Erection $4M+ for 5 pts.... Green is not the only D man having a slow go at it thus far. He fills a far better need than E or Q do, that is for sure. Once we acquire a top #1 guy, both Kronwall and Green can go back to being the offensive defenseman they should be. IMO Green should be on the 1st PP unit at all times, he has a rocket shot and needs to shoot at the net more. In this current PP system, our guys look far too much for the perfect pretty play instead of old school shoot hard and shoot often. Get a real net front presence and have Green just blast it at the net time and time again. He'll either start getting more goals or continue to pad his assist total. Why are we paying Datsyuk $7M+ for 10 points? Pav will be fine, Green will be fine. I predict that (if the correct players are acquired) Green will win a Norris within his three years here. He needs that big #1 defender to play along side of, and he needs that big net front guy on the PP. Byfuglien can be both of those guys....lets hope the Wings are in play for him if he becomes available.

My first sweater was #14..........Miroslav Frycer. I s*** you not! I was a teenager and wanted a name that nobody else had....well, what seemed like a few games later he was no longer a Wing. I then went with an Yzerman one. True story! Chabot, Cha-boom? http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/54603-chabot-sh-boom-from-channel-9-in-the-late-80s/ -
In today's PC world, that would be considered racist. Could you imagine the protest's and demonstrations outside of that place? Sheesh!

Ok, hint: This spy plane is on display at the Smithsonian and also made an appearance as a transformer....maybe too much of a hint.

Interesting call ups, I happen to think that XO will get in over Kindl. Nosek is the real interesting one though. Wonder if he'll replace Andy or Jurco? I happen to think it'll be Jurco, I just don't think he is doing enough to win over Blashill...and I'm a fan of his, so I wish he could stay in the lineup and get off that 4th line. Maybe XO is up to be auditioned for a trade? (cue the dragnet music!)

Well, I am sticking with my two original names: For my choice of honoring someone from Hockeytown: The Ilitch Centre for Entertainment Arena nick named the I.C.E. Area © Then my corporate choice: The Cadillac Centre © of course this could also be used as an honor to Cadillac the founder of Detroit. How about Miller Arena? The Beer of course!

That 3rd goal was Kronwall's lazy play... -
improve the PP by acquiring the correct net front presence, I ike Abby, but he is not a PP specialist....AND SHOOT THE FRICKIN PUCK! Stop with the fancy pussyfoot passing! 9 times out of 10 Kronwall passes the puck even when he has time to lean into a one time slapper! Stop being so fancy, go back to basics! Shoot hard and shoot often! Pummel the net! You got Mike Green with a rocket shot. shoot it! A huge net front presence, and put a guy in the slot on opposite sides of the puck....shoot it! The main problem is not shooting and looking for that perfect play. Sure it looks beautiful when it works 10% of the time, but the other 90% its just one too many passess....BLAST THE PUCK! Even in front of the net, you're always told that when you shoot it, try to drive it through the back of the net, stop with the soft little taps at the puck! Simple....I'd teach them for half the cash Oatsie is getting! But its nice to see him (kind of)back within the organization.

the injury most certainly played a role in his production. But even after that he averaged .53 ppg in his first full season in GR. Now he is averaging .8 ppg thus far in his second season. Is it superstar numbers? No. But doesn't mean he isn't going to have a great career in the NHL. Lets compare him to one of our leading scorers on the team the last two seasons, Tatar. What was Tatar's PPG in his first full AHL season? .55. What was his PPG in his second full season? .8. Does this mean Mantha will turn out just as good as Tatar? No, nothing is guaranteed, but its not like he's chopped liver down there. He will be fine. I am willing to bet he gets time up here a couple of games this season, and then at lest 20 games next season. As long as he continues the direction he is going now, with no setbacks. (or trade)

We have to get bigger. I don't mean big like height, but we need a player or two that plays big. We all know E has size, but he pays like he's 5'9". We need a player who plays 6'5". Whether he actually be 6'5 or if he is 6' and plays bigger, we need him now. Everyone is tired of hearing trade scenarios or players that can be traded, but its time, we went from winning ROW's to losing OT, to losing. It was a slow pregression, but it got there. It's time for Holland to make that deal that gets us the top line defender (if one is available) and/or a bigtime legit scoring threat. I still maintain that E, Smith, K, Helm, Andersson, Jurco, Pulkkinen and Howard are ALL expendable/replaceable, and I am a fan of Jurco and Pulk, but any of these guys can be replaced within the system or with whomever is acqured. Throw the 1st round pick out there and a prospect or two in order to get what we need. Of our 4 D kids, we aren't going to be able to keep all of them, there's just no room, especially if we get that top guy in a trade, so throw one of them in a deal. I know the goalie tandem is doing fine, but trade Howard now while he still has #1 value. It's time for Mrazek to take over playing 8 out of 10 games now. We cannot just sit back anymore and hope things turn for the better, they have gotten worse. The only reason we are anywhere near MTL is because Price is hurt. I suppose if things don't get any worse, we could wait until the deadline, but I really wish they wouldn't, they seem to be going downhill a bit, I hope they trend up very soon. I don't know what it would take to get that #1 defenseman, but I am sure, even with the names I listed, Holland could offer a package of any combo of them and get what he needs.

What if Holland shocked the world and signed Stamkos in July? Would that help our offense? Could happen.... http://www.todaysslapshot.com/from-the-ice/lebrun-what-if-red-wings-made-stamkos-an-offer/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter -
Not that I've heard of the, but I am guessing: The Submarines? If that is correct, then try this one: Spy Plane (not the one with Bono in it either)
-
Nice to see that even being one of the favorites, and best teams in the NHL already, Chicago's GM is not weary to make a deal to get even better...It's time for Holland to do so.

Need a change and need it sooner rather than later....need the big D-Man and the big O man. One or two parts....need them now!! -
Wait, I thought the Penguins were supposed to win at least 12 Cups after 09? Thats what I heard anyway. Nothing makes me smile more right now in the hockey world is to see this team fail to win Cups....them and the Wild.
