hope the schedulers find it in their hearts to make Tampa be the last team to play there so Steve won't find it a conflict of interest in showing up for the last ever game in HIS house. Better yet, why don't we just go ahead and promote (for lack of a better word) Holland and bring Steve home as our GM... I was there as a 9 year old for the first ever game, sadly I can almost guarantee I will not make it for the last....oh what memories though!

the only thing I would seriously tank is most of our D and a couple of fwds. If we want a retool, lets do it. Whoever we cannot trade, waive. Gone: Franzen, Cleary, Ericsson, Quincey, Kindl and Howard. Weiss as well since he seems like he can't get a break. I know, there are NTC's, but this is just my retool. Replace them with kids and I bet the streak still remains intact. Those guys bring nothing to this team that our kids won't bring...except they will bring less enthusiasm than the kids.

I called that when he signed here. I said it won't be long until Danny is our top defender. Kronner is a better player when he isn't called on to be the #1. E is hot garbage. Smith is what he is and Q and K...well...

Z may still be our #1 center, but no way Abby and Franzen are #1 wingers. So basically Sheahans line is #1...Helm is useless.

don't know how much longer people will be sold by E. I've been calling him a farce for a while now. I still maintain this team wouldn't miss a beat if he were gone. Q, K and E...three guys who wouldn't be missed.

is it that our forwards missed point blank or that their goalie made the big saves when called upon? That's what goalies are supposed to do. That's what Jimmy is supposed to do now and then. But I somehow cannot imagine that Glenny and Andy's point blank shots were anything near as perfect as Getz's...he is 109 times the player they are, other than poking it off his stick, jimmy didn't have a chance on the 3rd goal. I still don't like him though.

I don't usually defend Big E, but to me it looked like he did all he could do by taking away the pass for the easy slam dunk from Kesler. What I am not sure if I saw or not is if Jimmy tried to poke check the puck off Getzlaf's stick. E had the pass and had to allowed the goalie to take the shooter (like a two on one.) Francine had his man all the way to the net. Getz was close enough, I believe that Jimmy could have poked at the puck and knocked it free. Other than that, it was a perfect shot from a great player who gets paid to score those perfect goals. I would have been more upset if it was a 4th line grinder that burned Jimmy, but its hard to stop Getzlaf in a situation like that, just as it would be hard to stop Pav or Hank in that same situation. When you get paid $7m+ you have to score goals like that, it had to be perfectly placed and it was...most other players either put it right into Jimmy or sail it over the net. Again, if E runs at Getz, then Kesler has a slam dunk...E did what he could have, IMO.

didn't watch but the last 5-6 mins...how'd the guys look? The Z line looked good from what I did see, even Francine. From the sounds of it on here, Howard blew...go figure.

they said it right, the hook and the hand had nothing to do with the fall. The hook is a penalty, but really not at that juncture of the game. My question is though, I thought that if even the slightest of a penalty leads directly to a scoring chance is automatically called no matter what point in the game, right? Oh well, like I said, the ref was probably hoping it didn't go in and he wouldn't be the goat...but he was. Sucks, but if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd take it.

Wow....just wow. Not much else to say. You can tell the ref was embarrassed. He was looking for a place to hide with the non call. That has to be a refs worse nightmare. Non call on a penalty that leads right to a goal. He was probably saying please don't go in.

I have a hard time seeing Weiss waive his NTC to go to Buffalo. Kindl has 0 trade value, Weiss would probably just get us a pick...a lower one at that. Just waive Kindl, he has enough experience that someone would probably pick him up as an experiment. That way his cap comes off our hit. If Weiss would submit 5-10 teams he would like to go a play with, a 4th round pick is probably the best he would fetch in return. I like Weiss, although I haven't seen enough of him to know how much, but obviously there is something that us fans don't know and he is just not going to get the chance here. Either way, if he isn't going to play, his $5M would come in handy while kicking some tires around. That way we could also keep Nesty up when Pav gets healthy.

Solid....doesn't mean he is good. If Q remains invisible all season, that would be a positive for him. Doesn't mean he is worth keeping. But anyhow, my point was, of the D, they were the two worst and they made some boneheaded plays. That's all. And we wouldn't miss either of them. IMO we wouldn't miss E either, but some folks are sold by him. That's fine, because its not like we could replace the entire D with rookies, but Q and K are more than replaceable with XO and Jensen. Back to Kindl by himself, he could be traded for a pick or futures, his roster spot is more valuable than anything he could bring in return.

Oh, my bad. K and Q rocked! Quincey looked bad more than he looked "solid." I like that word "solid." You cannot say he was good, but "solid." He looked "un-solid" to me, the entire game I watched. As did Kindl. Horrible? No....good or "solid?" Hell no... Also I heard that Cleary was by far the worst guy in the press box last night. He spilled 19 soft drinks and 2 trays of nachos....pathetic! I agree Ericsson wasn't "solid" either....like I said in the other thread, this team would be perfectly fine without Big E on it as well as Q and K.

No doubt, he and Q were the two worst Wings on the ice last night. That sequence where Jimmy (should've froze it) passed the puck behind the net to Kindl and it took them about (what seemed like) 2-3 minutes to clear the zone defined exactly how bad K and Q are. I don't think there is any trade value in Kindl. He will be best served waived. Even then I find it hard believing a team would pick him up. I don't know what kind of cap relief they would get if he played in GR, but the roster spot alone is the valuable asset here. Unfortunately, Q is here and again, no trade value. He by far needs to go, I am still baffled that he got re-signed, and a raise. Anyhow, if I were choosing between Q and K to waive/trade to make room for XO, I keep Kindl and dump Q on the waiver wire. edit: In the perfect scenario, both are gone and XO and Jensen are brought up making our D full of youth and excitement.
