Ok, there are two of these threads, which one do we starting talking in and which one is gonna be deleted? Anyhow, I hope that Q gets awarded a lessor contract than he was offered! Just like Hudler did in 2009, Holland offered Hudler $3.5M and he went to arbitration (before bolting to Russia) and was awarded $2.8M.. Holland does have to option to refuse the awarded contract and let Q become a UFA...or he can trade his rights, RIGHT NOW! If Holland accepts the arbitrator's contract he cannot be traded for a year...

to ANA : Val Filppula, Tomas Tatar, Jan Mursak, Justin Abdelkader, 2nd round pick to DET : Bobby Ryan and to PHX : Johan Franzine, Joakim Andersson, Dan Cleary, Kyle Quincey, 2nd round pick to DET : Keith Yandle Sign Semin and Doan and Mueller...(and no I do not hate Abby) I just do not think Holland would or ever would give up Franzine or Filppula and that there will define this off season...yes, he went hard after Suter, but the show must go on and he needs to unleash his balls even more!

Where do we go from here? Let's try a youth movement

it's not Abby hate, it more so acknowledging the fact that he is good in his role and knowing that if we were to get Ryan or Yandle or Nash, Abby would probably be asked for in the return package...we are just being realistic. I hope he isn't asked for and he stays here. But if you are getting one of those three guys in return...I'd have to say goodbye to him. -
Blah! I can see him wanting to play with Malkin as well...but Malkin is more of the sniper himself right? Just like Ovi. While Dats can sure put his share in the net, he is more of a setup man and Semin would score more goals playing with him...but if he goes to Pit, then I can't say I blame him either, especially if they are offering more money... That would be fine, Holland would have to for sure land Doan and then Nash or Ryan...just like Parise, Semin would be great here, but it wouldn't mean the end of the Wings if he weren't...
-
That could be what he is doing, but I am sure Doan has a list of where he'd like to play and his agent only called those teams. I cannot see his agent calling Carolina if Doan would never sign there...
-
Yes, it has been reported that Doans agent has called Holland a few times already expressing intetest in coming here if he leaves...
-
Just imagine 40 from Semin, 30 from Doan and potential 50 from Nash (or 40 from Ryan) The LGW users will be wondering who Hudler and Franzine every were.... Hey bamawing, I was in your state for the first time ever last weekend, Decatur, loved it! I couldn't understand the gas station attendant too good, but I was too busy being amazed by the price of $2.80 per gallon to care!

I agree, I prefer to have him on our team...I just feel he may be asked about in any trade involving Nash/Ryan or Yandle... By all means if we get to keep him, I am seriously looking forward to Abby/Helm/Tootoo! -
before anyone jumps on me about Tatar, remember there is still Jurco, Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen, Nyquist and Sheahan...not to mention soon, Frk, Atahanasiou, and Bodin (who I think will surprise everyone!) We have an expendable prospect or two up front...utilizing Andersson, Mursak and Tatar in a trade won't be the end of the world...
-
While I would be perfectly happy landing Nash, I feel it would cost less to get Ryan...then we could trade for Yandle...but if Holland lands Nash and it cost BOTH Fil and Franzine then I can see Holland signing Q and Kubina for the D... I think Franzine could be spared in this deal though...Filppula, Abdelkader, Tatar, Kindl for Nash...I still prefer Ryan and Yandle, but I trust Kenny! What would you guys think if Kenny got a package of Nash and Wisniewski in return? I know Wiz is at $5.5M...

Zach Parise agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild

Yet another playoff team that lost out to family...the Wild were the benefactors of being in Minneapolis... -
I'd give him 5 years $20M, but NO to a NMC/NTC...

LeftWinger replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
I don't think it is hate, well not from me, but he is good and would probably be asked for in any trade scenario.... To Drake...one could hope that the youth would grow together and one day become great together...but we are not the Edmonton Oilers and Holland will not go decades without a Cup or years without a playoff appearance. Holland will also not go with a youth movement with over $16M in cap space...besides trading Fil and Franzine in separate deals for Ryan and Yandle is getting younger... -
Well, you don't have a choice now do you? I would say Detroit has a very good shot at Semin....but I haven't heard anything going on with Holland for 24 hours now....what is up I wonder? I know he has to wait until the 9th for Doan to decide...sure glad he wants to come here! Doan and Semin FTW! BTW, if Semin signs here and stays healthy, he will outscore Parise....hell he nearly did last year...Semin had .7 PPG and Parise had .8 PPG... I would call Semin at $4M a hell of a steal compared to Parise at $7.5M...

Zach Parise agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Well, if you want to get technical, sure $8M over 13 years is not that much, but the Wings didn't offer Parise that much, they offered him what they felt he was worth and that was nowhere near what they felt Suter was worth. So right away we weren't getting Parise and I hate to burst your bubble, but direct from Ryan Suter's own lips he said he was leaning towards Detroit but got talked into Minny by Parise and his own family, so spin it how ever you want, technically Detroit didn't lose out to the Wild, they lost out to family...which I for one can respect. You speak of Dead WIngs 2.0, well at least we have been there are climbed the Summit and still make the playoffs every year, what exactly has MInny accomplished? You started out in a dead era of your own and have failed to climb out of it yet...let us know when you have reached the summit... back on the subject of Parise signing, he even publicly said, if it weren't for family, he'd be back in NJ...so I really don't see the Wild beating anyone there either, NJ and all others, again, lost out to family...so what was it exactly you guys won again? You got two high profile UFA's who, if not for family, would have taken lessor offers to play somewhere else....wear your badge proud centcougar, and hopefully it works out for you, because honestly, I'd rather Minny win a Cup than see Cindy Lee Crysby raise one again... and BTW, Wild have $2.1M in cap space...say goodbye to some players... -

Two things, one, it's not sour grapes (there are some guys sour) it's more that we can not figure out why these two, with their destiny's in their own hands, chose to go to a team that they HOPE will turn around in the next 5 years to become a perennial playoff team rather than go to one of three other teams that are already perennial playoff teams... I understand family ties, but those family ties pretty much guaranteed at least half of their contracts they will miss the playoffs and Ron Paul has a better chance of becoming President in 2032 than they do ever winning a Cup...you cannot argue history, how long until ownership realizes that they need more than these two to win? And now with very little cap space available, they are hogtied...BTW, Danny Heatley helped convince them, well Danny Heatley has been mentioned in trade talks, so much for that angle...it already starts to fall apart... I think ownership was so hell bent on outbidding everyone, that once they signed the papers, they stepped back the next day and said..."Oh My God! We have over $35M of our Cap wrapped up in 5 players....Oh s*** this better work soon or we'll have to dump salary soon!" edit: I forgot #2, at least now you are coming here a posting as a Minn fan and not posing as a Wings fan...that is step one to recovery! -
Now is the time Ilitch needs to convince Dekeyser to NOT go back for his senior year...

Zach Parise agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Actually, they only received higher offers from teams that had no chance to sign them...the contenders all offered them around $90M. Minny had to outbid those teams to land them. I am glad they didnt go to Pit or Chi. Congrats you got your guys, but we'll see how long it takes for them to win a playoff round or even make it. Not landing Suter hurt, but we still have $16M to try to get better, you have $2M and your D is pretty suspect after Suter....He wanted to come to Detroit, but was talked out of it by Paruse....for your teams sake you better hope they win soon, 5 years of no playoffs or 1st round exits will sour the mood pretty quick... -
He needs to deal for Ryan, then sign Semin, Doan, Mueller.and then try for.Yandle.....

Holland comments on Suter & Parise going to Wild
LeftWinger replied to Liquidsnake's topic in General
Filppula and some prospects will get us Ryan..... I say do it. You then sign Mueller to give us 4 legit centers.... Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Helm & Mueller. Trade a Franzen package for Yandle, sign Doan, sign Semin..... I think that lineup is very, very competitive. Playoffs for sure....better than Minny's lineup... -
Holland comments on Suter & Parise going to Wild
LeftWinger replied to Liquidsnake's topic in General
With all that cap tied up in 5 players, I bet the Wild ownership are even looking at each other and saying...."This better frickin work!" Meanwhile, I think Holland is glad he doesn't have to pay either of them $7.5M for the next 13 years...I am mad about Suter though, I wish he had his own brain... -
Matt Carle signs with Tampa Bay: 6-years, $33-million

I would be happy with Hedman or Brewer... -
If it gets a Cup, then I am all for it....I can deal with getting an aging vet for a couple of years, every couple of years to put us over the top in the quest...he would still be only the 3rd player over 35+ on our team...Semin, Yandle, Mueller and Ryan are young. FORWARDS Alexander Semin ($4.000m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Shane Doan ($5.000m) Bobby Ryan ($5.100m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Damien Brunner ($1.350m) Mikael Samuelsson ($3.000m) / Peter Mueller ($3.500m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) / DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Keith Yandle ($5.250m) Ian White ($2.875m) / Brendan Smith ($0.875m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) Ryan Sproul ($0.925m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $66,304,167; BONUSES: $745,000 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $3,895,833 Gone in trades are Filppula, Franzine, Mursak, Emmerton, Abdelkader, Quincey, Cleary....whatever combo gets us Yandle and Ryan, I don't care. Filppula being the main one going for Ryan and Franzine main one going for Yandle. I would say Quincey would go to Phoenix as well and Abby to Anaheim...throw in a prospect to each to sweetin the pot...Mursak, Emmeton and Cleary can go for picks for all I care.... BTW, I am going back to a dream roster in my sig, since deleting it didn't help in getting Suter...
