Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Well tweet's saying there will be no decision for Suter today......come on! This is getting stupid! If there are 5 teams on your list, 4 of them have to move on once you decide where you are going! There are other UFA's who aren't getting calls because of this, there are millions of fans who will need blood pressure medicine now, let alone when you do decide....then there are the fans that have to make up the Hate signs to display when you visit thier arena's after you don't chose their team... I want you to be a Red Wing...but for the love of God, CHOOSE! So everyone can move forward!!!!- 487 replies

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Wow that would be a pretty empty team since there are only two players 35 and up.... Sammy @ 35, Bert @ 36....they have 4 players that are 31-33...just lost a 28 year old Hudler and got a 28 year old in Tootoo...Gustavsson is 27... ...if they land Suter he is 27, Parise is 27, Semin is 27, Nash is 27, Ryan is 24.... I understand you are mad about Sammy, but this is the youngest Detroit team since the mid 90's...and look what that team grew into!- 487 replies

LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Lost in all this, Helen St. James has reported that if Detroit misses the Parise bus, they will go hard for Doan on the 9th... I don't think Holland lowballed him...guarantee that Hollands offer was on par with every other "contending" team that made him an offer.... If there were teams that offered Suter $100M-$110M it was more than likely teams that HAD to offer him that much for even a consideration... ie. Bottom dwellers...- 487 replies

Those are just cap hits, guarantee he is going to have a front loaded contract paying him upwards of $11M-$12M per season for a some years!- 487 replies

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Ok, lets consider his goal scoring song.... I am not one to like the personal songs, but I know its part of the Joe so lets go with either: "Come on ride the train..." - Quad City DJ's or "Come on baby do the locomotion.." - Grand Funk Railroad Or just two or three long draw out locomotive whistle's like this: -
Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Oh I agree, but I kinda wish he would because as soon as Parise signs somewhere, the other teams who lost out will be trying to get Nash or Ryan and the price will skyrocket...- 487 replies

LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
This for sure! Can live without Parise... I am intrigued to see if Holland seriously goes after Ryan or Nash after this or heck even before this. I can imagine if the Wings picked up Nash or Ryan, it would sway Suter even more to Detroit...then Parise will be like...F*** ME! I should have picked Detroit!- 487 replies

I like drew in #23 but #26 or #29 will work...either way I don't think Drew will have an issue giving Ryan #20... Semin and Nash will have no issues with their number's....#28 and #61 would look wonderful on the Winged Wheel!- 487 replies

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Please, no toots as a nickname.... anyhow, Tootoo - Helm - Abby could very well be a third line...especially if Filppula ends up being moved in a Nash or Ryan deal... -
Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
LeftWinger replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Why would they be there courting him? They could very well be there finalizing and picking him up to bring him to the Joe for the presser... according to most NHL experts at TSN and ESPN, Suter to Detroit is a done deal...I will go with that until it changes. So lets just say, Wings contingent in Madison finalizing deal and bring Suter to Hockeytown.- 487 replies

List of why Zach Parise and Ryan Suter should choose the Red Wings...

Here is the reason why Parise and Suter should sign with the Wings....and why the likes of Nash, Ryan, Semin will also love to be here: and here is why they should not want to sign in Pit: -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
LeftWinger replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
Poor Mario cannot afford both... The offer that knocked them out was Detroit's...of course that is me looking thru the red glasses. I really hope it ends today though... -

...and that will not compare to the dump he will take if he signs in Minny... -
Signed Red Wings Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year deal, $1.5M/yr
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
I don't know too much about him, but I am glad Holland has filled the back up role and can move on to more pressing items...Suter/Semin/Nash. Welcome to Detroit Jonas! -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
LeftWinger replied to Matt's topic in General
Sammy had 31pts in 54 games last season, he had two seasons prior of 50 points or more, 159 points in 4 season with Detroit...that's 293 points in the last 7 seasons....Hudler only had 219....Mikael is a bit older, but he is better and he makes $1M less... This is a win for Holland...in 2009 Sammy had to leave because of Cap issues, Hudler screwed Holland and then bolted for Russia... Welcome back Sammy, screw you Hudler! -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Also, in the todays NHL you couldn't trade Jordin Tootoo straight up for Jiri Hudler, but I am sure glad we dumped one and got the other! Welcome to Detroit Jordin! (please though, leave the whistle in Nashville, okay?) -
Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.
LeftWinger replied to mtuhockey7's topic in General
Suter won't be an issue...13 years, frontloaded contract, #1 defenseman on the team, best defenseman in the league, multiple Norris Trophies while here... Suter will be a Red Wing... Parise, ya, if we can land him too, super! But if not we could get Nash or Ryan along with Semin and possibly Meuller and things would be rockin! -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
LeftWinger replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Uh....nobody really liked the Dallas Drake signing either.... Some of you guys are very finicky....we want toughness, we want someone to stick up for Pav and Z, we want someone who will sacrifice his body, someone to fight in the corners, someone to check people tenasciously...then Holland signs someone like that, and he is only 28 and put in 30 points last season (a career high, so he deserves a raise,) and you all freak out! If you ask me, a 4th line of Abby - Helm - Tootoo seems to me like a very hard line to play against and one that will generate a TON of excitement with tons of energy and hits... I like this signing, came out of nowhere and it could be a helpful acquisition in securing Ryan Suter for the next 13 years...and then they BOTH could land us Weber if he becomes a UFA next season...this is no guarantee, but it can't hurt... Good on you Holland, every year you kick the tires, this year, starting with the draft, you actually have squealed the hell out of those tires and if you can follow this up with Suter, Semin and Nash then those tires will be ripped right from the wheels! Great job so far Kenny, great job!
