Yeah they only lasted one season. As far as I know, it was the first real attempt at European expansion. And yes he was the captain. The fact that I'm from and live in a different London (Ontario) is just a complete coincidence but I would assume most probably assume that.

Ha yes those are him rrasco and yes he had a pretty rockin mustache for most of his career . lol I was born after his hockey career was over but have a ton of Red Wings memorabilia including old programs and tons of pictures and a bunch of international keepsakes while he played for Canada and the London Lions in Europe. Many are the items international teams exchange with each other before/after games. Also if you don't know about the London Lions, I'd recommend checking them out. It's a cool part of Red Wings history.

He's basically a pilon on skates. Has some of the slowest foot speed in the league. No thanks.

I just know Alfredsson is going to be our "Trade Deadline Acquisition" Which might not be a bad thing depending on injuries... -
Actually he's used EXACTLY like those guys were used in the AHL. An aggressive forward who can shift up and down your lineup and play in any situation....in the AHL. Those "bozos" did all that at the AHL level as well AND put up better numbers than Callahan AND were used on the PP and PK. Which is why they're an ok comparable at that stage in their career.
-
What I'm saying is so were guys like Torres and Asham at the same stage of their careers. Even more-so than Callahan. I just don't see his success in producing points translating to the NHL. Much like it didn't with them. I like Mitch and he can be an effective 4th liner but I do feel people overrate him because they have a soft spot for him since he's one of our few "tough" prospects.
-
We can agree to disagree then because I don't see that comparison at all. Torres and Asham both put up far better numbers in the AHL then Callahan. I don't see Callahan as any more than a 4th liner. Hell, he's probably going to clear waivers.
-
That's being extremely generous of you. Prust is and was a much tougher player. He racked up close to triple the amount of penalty minutes on average in the AHL.

He's against losing a good player to a fight and/or putting your team in a bad situation. ie shorthanded. -

I think it's quite clean and sharp... The old one was quite cluttered. As for the podcasts, they can always be found on Itunes. Also you can click the Radio tab... then choose a station...then choose Audio....Then choose....

Ken Campbell @THNKenCampbell Follow Red Wings agree to terms with defenseman Dan DeKeyser. Two years with an AAV of $2.187 million. 5:24 PM - 16 Sep 2014 -
It's exceptionally rare for a prospect of Mantha's stature to be able to play a full season of pro hockey and not even have it count against his ELC. Similar thing happened with Tatar's contract. Hence why his ELC lasted from 2009-14.
-
Usually if you play in the AHL it burns a year. That's not the case here... This essentially puts him on a 4 year ELC. This is the first I've heard of this.
-
Soooo apparently if Mantha plays less than 10 NHL games, his entry-level deal doesn't even start until next year... Source That's quite the loophole...

lgw Official $25 BUY-IN Fantasy Hockey League Sign-Up is CLOSED
Son of a Wing replied to Matt's topic in General
I highly recommend Matt's LGW Fantasy buy-in league. I had an absolute blast in my first year last year and happened to claim my first championship. I look forward to defending it to any LGWers looking to challenge. Hope to see some of you there! -
They said Helm is going to play on Datsyuk's wing. They havent confirmed where Zetts is playing yet as far as I know. Whether that's center or wing probably depends on Weiss. Its all speculation at this point. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Dats, Zetts, Weiss and Sheahan down the middle. You could roll 4 lines pretty comfortably and spread out the scoring.
