I felt bad for Howard last night. I don't think he had a chance on 3 of those goals. We need Howard to shake his last 2 starts off, because we're still not sure if Mrazek can handle the number of games a #1 goalie plays.

I've always been a fan of Smith, I just like the way he plays. He takes risks, and is a "crap" (to keep things PG ) disturber, just like Tatar. Opposing players need to be watching him when he's on the ice due to his speed. However, I'll be the first to admit that can lead to turnovers. But no risk, no reward.

The only thing I don't get about the line combos, which is already mentioned, is having Datsyuk on a line with Helm and Richards. I'd put Dats on a line with Tatar.

Hey RedNed, I'm glad you had a great time, and everything went smooth.

It depends where you're hotel is, but take the tunnel if you're staying downtown, it's only a few minutes from The Joe. The bridge is about 10 minutes away. It takes about 15 minutes to get through the tunnel after the game.
-
I second that. One of the times I was at The Joe, my friend and I were in the last row of the area, right in front of the owner's box. We got their early, found our seats, and decided to go down for warm ups. We got to the bottom of the stairs of the upper bowl, the usher said to us, "Are you guys going down for warm ups?". We said yes, then she said, "Go that way, it's faster" That was in 2005-06, Yzerman's last year. I remember Yzerman at one point was stretching right in front of us, I thought to myself, "Yzerman is right there". Just then my friend elbows me, points to Stevie, and says, "Yzerman is right there!" Great memory!

I'm Canadian, so I take the Tunnel to The Joe. I would take the car instead of the Tunnel Bus. It can take a while crossing the border taking the bus. The last time I took the Tunnel Bus, we got caught behind a Grey Hound Bus and it took an hour. After that I thought "screw it, I'm taking the car from now on" You can park around Cobo Hall, parking only costs about $10. You can get to The Joe by walking through Cobo Hall. There will be a number of people walking through Cobo too, so just follow the crowd... Downtown Detroit is safe, you and your son have no worries. Have a great time. I've been to a number of sporting events in different venues, and the Joe is by far my favorite place to watch a game. There isn't a bad seat in the house (unless you got the $9 tickets) and the crowd is awesome, everyone is into the game! Detroit is called Hockeytown for a reason.

I like how both goalies are playing the same amount of time so far. There's no need to change that.

The night Ellis had was one of the most gutless things I've seen. First he tries to spray water on the ref, when he's not looking, then drills Helm from behind into the boards, when he's not looking. Ellis was lucky Helm didn't turn around and punch him after he got up. I probably would have broken Ellis's jaw with my right hand! Weber probably taught Ellis how to act like that. I keep saying how gutless Canadian athletes are, and that they're crybabies, well they continue to prove me right. I hope Nashville misses the playoffs by 1 point.

Cool video! And here I thought they just put a floor over the ice. To answer the question, I think the game is ok the way it is. High scoring games are fun, but if it only happens a few times a year. If it's every night, no thanks. I think the perfect hockey score is 3-2.

Too early to tell, but Larkin's only 19 and he's been our best player!
-
I think it's simple, we're looking for our next Howe, Yzerman, Lidstrom, etc. player who'll lead the team. That doesn't happen over night when there's 29 teams doing the same thing. Larkin's probably that guy, but he's only 19.

Yea 20 minutes of 3 on 3, I'd need to bring 4 pairs of pants and I'd lose friends. No thanks!

It's looking like we're going to own 3 on 3. I can see us getting a lot of OT points this year. -
I don't watch All Star Games, so I don't have a strong opinion on what happens. I think what makes 3 on 3 so great, is that it's only 5 minutes. Any longer would be over kill.

Those are horrible jerseys!

I'm ok with it.

I don't think Cherry has had anything good to say for 15 years. During the Baseball playoffs he was saying there was a conspiracy against the Blue Jays because they're a Canadian team. I'm sure the ratings for the World Series would have been higher if the Blue Jays made it instead of the Royals. The Jays were the most exciting team in Baseball! There's no wonder why the Canadians in the NHL are a bunch of crybabies and head hunters, and Canadian sports fans are always complaining. They grew up listening to this idiot. And I say that as a Canadian.

My cousin, who's a Canucks and Sabres fan, wanted to see McDavid in Detroit on November 27th, so I got us tickets. I guess he won't have a chance. With McDavid out, the Wings have a better chance of winning, so I'm ok. I don't care who I see the Wings play against, I just want to see the Wings win, and win big
-
Yeah, nuts to him!

I would think it's advanced scouting. We don't have cap room to bring in Phaneuf's contract.

I haven't watched any Leaf games, so I can give my own opinion, but living in the Toronto area, I've had a couple friends, who are Leaf fans, tell me they think Babcock has them playing well. They said the team is playing aggressive, and they're getting more shots on net, but they just can't score. I would think their 1-7-2 start is due to not having Kessel anymore. Also, as far as I know, the Leafs are going to bottom out a couple seasons and draft, so this is all being done by design.
-
You must not go to games. I've been to a number of stadiums/arenas, the Joe is the loudest I've been too.

GDT 10/9 GDT : @ Red Wings 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 0

4-1 sounds about right -
I say 3, maybe 4. Tatar, Nyquist, and Zetterberg. Franzen has a shot if he can stay healthy. We should have a number of guys around 15: Datsyuk, Abdelkader, Richards, Sheahan, Pulkkinen, Green, and Kronwall. Maybe Helm, if he can stay healthy. Edit: I forgot Pulkkinen
