    Smith Leads Charge

His defensive part of the game is not as polished as we would like it to be, but it will come to him by gaining more NHL experience.

    Smith Leads Charge

I think Smith will be the integral part of starting the New Era for the Red Wings. He has all the tools to be one of the elite D in NHL. Iam very optimistic and looking forward watching Smith full time next season.

Doan staying in PHX 4 yrs $21.2 mill

Doan will be good in any team. There are not many like him, who are wiling to work the way he does. Doans agent contacted Wings seeking and offer. Therefore this one is up to Kenny to bring to Detroit.

    Brenden Morrow Trade-able?

Morrow just does not go with Red Wings. He belongs in Dallas.

Six teams on Nash's trade "list", none Canadian

Every elite player comes with high cost. If Parise gets 7.5 mil. Than Nash is worth 10mil. Getting Nash with 7.8 mil cap hit is better than Parise for 13 years. Unfortunately what they ask in return is rediculous. Hope Kenny can work magic on this one and bring Nash to Detroit.

Quincy may be ok. I can't say that about Kindle. Don't think he is a NHL caliber D.

Doan goes to San Jose or Vancouver. So let it be. We want Nash !

    The Next Move

No Semin is a good thing. Thumbs up for Kenny if he does not sign him?

    Semin

There is a reason nobody wants this guy. Let him go.

    Semin

I agree with youth, however Doan will be fairly inexpensive, short term deal and will have significant impact in work ethic department.

Nice ! I also like the score on the second pic.

    Semin

Don't worry about not getting Semin. We are getting Doan, Nash or Ryan.
  13. I would say that doing something of that magnitude is a must. We can't expect Pasha, Z and Kronwall to carry this team into new era. We need this guys. Nash, Ryan or even doan. Cant get the #1 D this year, must have lethal offense and leadership.
  14. Minnesota will have Parise and Suter. We will have Nash and Weber. And Tootoo.
  15. I have said it before. We are going to love Tootoo in Detroit. And we will love Nash in Detroit. Especially if he brings us Weber next summer.
  16. Anderson maybe 3rd or 4th, but defeneteley not Tatar.
  17. Tatar and Anderson are not being developed to be 4th liners. Bringing them to NHL and assigning 4th line duties will be no good for the team or for Tatar and Anderson.

What happens if the new CBA lowers the Cap?

What happens if CBA lowers the Cap ? Gary Bettman becomes a UFA !
  19. Would you rather have a 533k guy, who is doing nothing on that 4th line, other then damaging the ice surface ? Emmerton maybe ?

    Def trade on the horizon

Hope Kenny gives us something to cheer about this weekend.

    Semin

The Red Wings are not high on skilled right wing Alexander Semin, the second-best available forward, due to concerns about commitment and effort that have dogged him his entire career. They would be hesitant to sign a player like that to a long-term deal.

    Semin

That guy may sign a contract and then ditch the team to go play in KHL for more money. Can't give someone like that a long term contract. Some f***ed up situation we got here.

    Semin

Who knows. Maybe Pasha told Kenny to stay away from Semin.
  24. Getting Nash will require sacrifice but it will pay off in many ways for the Wings. I hate to see media downgrading the entire Red Wings organization for not getting Suter and Parise. Younger generation of hockey tallants are sensitive to those things. I remember few years ago everyone would only dream to play for the Wings. No they go to Ollers, Wilds and such. This needs to be fixed somehow. Kenny is a pro. He will fix it. Our players need to step up and fix it. Fans need to be patient and optimistic. Go Wings !

    Tomas Tatar

One thing I can say about this kids is that the time and effort spent developing them and their performance playing with the big boys in the NHL showes very little upside. Well for the most of them. Wings have been very conservative with bringing young players to the big ligue. Maybe the should change that philosophy and let them get their feet wet from the beginning. I think that is the best way, but not the safest. One at a time would not hurt. I strongly believe that Smith should have been a regular/full time last season. Learn playing with Lids. Oh well this have been said many times. Whatever is best for the team !
