This game is a joke, the only Wing that showed up is Mrazek. They're playing the Carolina Hurricanes for crying out loud! This is painful to watch.

I know Mantha will more than likely spend another season in Grand Rapids, but I would love to watch him in Detroit this season. The kid's got a great shot.

I think it's a little early to be thinking about Montreal, this series is far from over. It could easily be 2-1 for the bolts in this series considering how the Wings played in the first two games.

What a joke! How long is the NHL going to help the Oilers become a contender. The funny thing about all this though is that their goaltending and defense still stink. They could get another top 5 pick again next year too. How long is the NHL going to reward them for sucking.

They also acquired defenseman Nick Leddy from the Chicago Blackhawks for Tj Brennan, Ville Pokka and Anders Nilsson. Great pickups by the Isles, their backend looks decent after these moves.

He's a really good junior player but that doesn't necessarily translate into a good NHL player right away or at all. I'm excited about him but I think 1 or 2 years in GR will be whats best for him.

Hockey gets back underway tonight with Washington @ Winnipeg and a split squad double header between Calgary and Edmonton. I'm gonna be watching the Caps and Jets on CBC. I'm hoping that Mark Scheifle is in the lineup tonight for the Jets. Detroit gets going on Monday against the Penguins.

I've seen Mackinnon, Jones, Drouin, Strome, Scheifele and Reilly a fair bit from their Junior days. I've never seen Barkov, Murray or Nichuskin at all, so i'm more interested to see them. I'm most excited to see how good Barkov performes in his first season with the Panthers. I was surprised Florida choose to take him over Jones and Drouin. I'm also hoping Tatar plays a full season with the Wings this season. He was an exciting player to watch during his call up last season. I was surprised they sent him back down, as i thought he played well enough to stick with the big club. I hoping him and Nyquist play on the third line together this season.

Tommorow the Penguins play the Blue Jackets at 6 et on NHLnetwork us. On Monday they will also carry the habs and bruins at 7et and the sharks against the canucks at 10 et. They will also cover 18 other games during the exhibition season, check nhl.com for the schedule.

You can't use video review for everything, the game would lose pace if you did.

Brad Boyes and Tim Thomas have both been signed to professional tryout contracts by the Florida Panthers. Boyes i could see sticking with the Panthers but Thomas may be out of luck if he wants to be the starter in Florida as Jacob Markstrom may be finally ready to be a number 1 goalie. Tatar's not going anywhere, talk about overreaction. In other news I watched Mark Scheifle tonight, playing against Washington and he 's looking NHL ready. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does this season.

The best thing fans can do is not go to games when they start next season in the KHL.

Evander Kane had two goals for Winnipeg and Mark Scheifle had a strong game. Mike Green scored the shootout winner for the Caps making it a 4-3 final. It was a good game for Stanislav Galiev who had a goal for the Caps. Scheifle looks like he's ready to be an NHL regular, his two way game finally looks ready.

Ya Kassian for Hodgson is a pretty bad trade.

Calgary could definitely use him, but again they're a team that's not going to be anywhere near the playoffs.

The problem with Thomas is none of the top 15 teams in the league need a number 1 goalie which leaves him on a crappy team, his own fault really.

Its possible but i think its more likely one of the older veterans gets dealt.
