Well this "bad" fan just did the draft simulator and out of 10 tries we were in the top 3 50% of the time and of those were #1 2 times 2 1 time and #3 2 times. It did piss me off seeing sh*thawks in the top 3 multiple times also just cause...

and waay better we got TWO guys vs 1! and one for the offense side and 1 for the defensive side ..yaaay -
and we would be playing a Winter Classic in Hell because at that point hell would be truly frozen.

The Wings are like the problem drinker They have recognized their faults - trading away assets, big term contracts They have apologized for their faults - LCA as a feel good antonement They know they need help to rebuild themselves-trading Tater, Tiddlywinky, letting the kids play more They need support during recovery - Keeping Blash and Holland one more year for better picks After that sponsorship of a year or so they should be able to stand on their own - 2+ high draft picks, contracts off books, young guns stepping into their prime, new coach, mgmt etc etc

Heard his back might be "flaring up"...lord what has become of us...rooting to be the bottom of the bottom...

Okay so you let Blash go at the end of the year who do you bring in that's either on the bench currently or could be available after the season ends? Tippett, Blysma, Hartley, Muller or stretch due to the youth movement and go waaay out there and get someone from the college ranks or AHL(not in the organization)
-
Hmm maybe this was the REASON Blash was brought was to ease us down into draft pick territory setting us up for a better coach after one more spin at the wheel next year Just trying to think of a good reason whyhe remains

in due time trust the process

As much as it will hurt the draft gotta have the win on the bday. The boy has to experience screaming "just a city boy born and raised in South Detroit" Oh wait he is 3 he will just remember that his dad took him to a game which is the coolest part. So you may root for defeat as the experience is what matters! Remember took my daughter to her first game about same age and it was here in Atlanta. She proudly wore her Wings jersey and actually made on the big screen. Buuuut smiles turned to tears when the Thrashers crowd booed her lol. Took a lot of candy that night to calm her down. Happy Happy Birthday -
ESPN lists most dominant champions of last 20 years: 2008 Red Wings come in 9th

Hmm a lot of players facing their younger self if you pitted the 2 teams. Would younger DMac beat up older DMac or would younger Dats be quicker than 08 Dats? Figure Maltby would be chirping no matter what. Biggest difference makers though would have been Feds, Shanny, Hull, Luc and of course 2002 had a MAJOR factor IMHO in that they had Stevie 2008 roster https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/DET/2008.html 2002 roster https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/DET/2002.html -
IMHO if Ras proves he belongs then he stays if not send him back down and wash rinse repeat next season.

We knew going into the season we would probably suck wind and that's hard to accept after all the years of success. I have watched games this year with less emotion then in years past as I feel we don't have the talent yet to compete at the level we used to. Do I believe we will get back to the elite sure do I think we will make the playoffs every year again for 25 years no way the cap has assured parity. So I eagerly wait for the draft and next season when the kids will be a bit more experienced maybe we will have a new cornerstone and maybe a coach because Blash is wearing on my nerves with the same rehearsed speech. I do get some enjoyment of pinging my hawks friends asking how their season is going....baahaaa as they say things could be worse.
-
this is all about the process....trust it Blash wants to coach..ooops I meant regress a number 1 pick's potential
-
Did the simulator 10 times while on a conf call 2 of the 3 times Wings had #1 so 30% hit rate of top 3 and of those 3 times 66% of those were the #1 pick. Just need a few more 1 goal losses and wins elsewhere....

Its reverse Stanley cup dreaming....

Being a gambler I think number 6 is about to hit and hit big time.

IF I got the same kind of return Chicago got in 07 with 1/3 Kane/Toews I would be willing to tank for that. OR if I was able to tank back to back like Pittsburgh and get Malkin 04 and Crosby 05 I could suffer through 2 very bad years. But again the chances of getting that kind of talent like they did is beating the odds pretty pretty pretty good. So sign Green get as many picks as you can and build build build

I am lighting candles and praying on draft order selection day as I will go screaming into the neighborhood if either the Rags or Hawks get Philly lucky this year. Imagine sucking like us and carrying those big contracts in Chicago. Hats off to NY for their magnificent job of engineering themselves into a tank.

Mrazek traded to Philly for Conditional 3rd and 4th Picks
AtlantaHotWings replied to hankzet40's topic in General
I am sure it helps when your team is spending time in the other zone a lot more. I hope he continues to win and both Philly goalies are hurt and Petr backstops Philly to the finals. That happens it means Pittsburgh was denied a 3peat and we got a good draft pick total win/win -
Or any future contracts other than for real cornerstone players like Larkin or Dahlin?
-
Maybe Kenny wanted more?

off mlive http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2018/02/red_wings_trade_tomas_tatar_to.html in article.. " That is the only trade the Red Wings made. They did not move defenseman Mike Green, a pending unrestricted free agent, due in large part because his value diminished due to a beck injury that forced him to miss the past six games. He is close to returning. The Red Wings have informed Green, 32, they would like to re-sign him in the off-season." Didn't know he hurt his beck....LOL

well we cleared 5.3 of cap and lost scoring so maybe improving our 1st draft pick chances?
