Okay so do you continue this situation or do you pull the ripcord? Did Blasbabs get a crap roster sure but IMHO you then coach to whatever you have as a strength. If its up tempo all 60 minutes then you do it. If your talent forces you to play a trap then you do it until you have pieces to turn it another way. Either way if you can't make players buy in then maybe you ain't right for the job. Right now it seems we have no clue what to do and that starts from Chris I down to Blasbabs to the players who get a crap ton of OUR money via sales to perform at their best. Ping Bylsma or Tippett see if there is interest and blow things up mid year? Bylsma is only 47 plus a pretty decent resume and from MI so maybe he has always wanted to be the coach of the team. Tippett is 56 and has a great resume have getting a lot of nothing in AZ. Would either of these choices get us out of the ashes of this season? What if they do and we magically get a playoff spot thus potentially screwing us out of a great draft pick how bad will this place blow up? I lived through the Dead Wings era and it wasn't fun but I will continue to root for this team and hope these last 2 seasons were simply the bounce for upward movement. My .02

Went to a game a few years ago in Raleigh and the Canes were out of the hunt it was a like a Wings home game. Met people who had drove from VA and other surrounding states to get to the game ..why cause of deals like I got 4 rows off the ice @ almost center ice 95 per ticket well worth my 6 hour drive one way. When Atlanta had a team they didn't do too bad with sales when teams with loyal fan bases like Wings, Rangers(we have a lot of NYers here) Hawks etc. What killed them is Atlanta fans are fixated on SEC football 7x24x365 so when Braves, Hawks etc semi suck seats are empty and that ain't changing anytime soon let alone a sport played on ice. Plus as I heard many times when in attendance at Phillips folks around me thought hockey was nothing but goon time. Funny you mentioned Miami being an event town yet the NHL put a team in the biggest event town in the USA this year. I say move the Panthers to QC. umm AA while that's super great I prefer you not to do that and come down wrong and blow a knee....just my thinking as an owner

Bingo Krsmith sorry I wasn't clear on my position. I think we have to get picks and build this house back up as I think we have a few foundation pieces of a potential solid house. I don't see us lifting Lord Stanley this year or next at a minimum unless we somehow channel the ducks of 2002-03 with Jimmy channeling Giguere....

My worry is that Holland will NOT trade assets if we are sitting in third thus miring us in "almost" good enough or speak the mantra of "once you are in the playoffs you never know what might happen" territory.

Maybe just maybe they realize that we have no superstar talent right now and therefore the boys know they have to play for a full 60 minutes. How many times in years past we would watch them go through the motions just waiting for their talent to win vs working hard? That said I am not holding my breath on a playoff spot.
