Giving points to the loser is like everyone gets a trophy at the end of the game. How many times have you seen a team simply play to make it to OT why because they get a point. I say a win is a win a loss is a loss. You get 2 points for a win whether it happens in reg time/OT and forget the shoot out(not just cause we suck at it). If you are still tied at the end of OT then have a tie teams split the 2 points 1 each and go on to the next game. I am sure the standings would be a lot different if that happened.
