One of the few things all of us here can agree on. (I think?) He seems like a good guy and I don't mind him as a third-pairing PK specialist, but that cap space could be put to better use. For what it's worth, he only played, like, three minutes in the third period of Thursday night's game. And I don't think it was because of injury. Perhaps Blashill is souring on him.

Trouba isn't happening. I'd love to be wrong on that, but I don't think I am. Josh Morrissey would probably be a more realistic Jets target, and he's pretty good, so I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to it. If we do trade AA, we need to get a defenseman back. More specifically, a young high-end defenseman with top-two potential, e.g. the aforementioned Morrissey, Julius Honka (DAL), Haydn Fleury (CAR), Jake Bean (CAR), Travis Sanheim (PHI), Samuel Girard (NSH), Dante Fabbro (NSH), Thomas Chabot (OTT).

Worth noting that Karlsson isn't playing tonight and Oduya's status is up in the air. Without Karlsson, their D's more or less as weak as ours.

It's believed he's looking for around $2.5M x 2 years. But it also seems like there's more to it than the money. Apparently he wants to be guaranteed a spot in the top nine and PP time and PK time -- and apparently Holland has given him that guarantee. Maybe he wants Blashill gone. Maybe he's got a problem with a teammate. Maybe he wants to play in the Olympics. Maybe he's being a big baby. I'm starting to sour on him.

Looked a bit nervous in the first and second but seemed to settle down in the third. That line -- Mantha-Larkin-Frk -- definitely has potential.

Larkin, Mantha, Frk taking care of business. I, for one, welcome our new young gun overlords. Howard was his usual solid self, gave us exactly what we needed. We are a disaster in our end, but maybe this season we can consistently outscore our mistakes. This was fun.
