Had it been anyone other than Helm, he probably would've tried for the pass. Instead, he realized the futility of the situation and acted accordingly. And, frankly, I kind of respect that. -

I suspect it's more that Marchand is arguably one of the best players in the league. Which isn't to say he's not a scumbag (or, for that matter, that Jacobs isn't, well, Jacobs). It's just...we all know what the league is about. $$$. Marketability. Profit. Selling the sport. If you're a big name, you're more or less protected from any truly severe punishment. You'd have to really, really cross the line, and unequivocally so. -
