Even when we were on (see: six-game winning streak), it was stellar goaltending and unsustainably high shooting percentages that were carrying us. I don't think the team is as bad as it's looked this weekend (Wings are playing stupid, stupid, stupid hockey), but, at the end of the day, this isn't an especially good team. Which we all pretty much knew before the season had even begun.

Reality is a cruel mistress.

*claws eyes out* Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with Vanek. I mean, we're definitely missing him, especially on the power play. But what we're seeing tonight is a number of team-wide issues that go far beyond any one player.

Wings need to wake up and buckle down.
