At some point people in charge might start correlating wins and Mrazek starts. I don't hate Howard but Mrazek is the best goalie we have going.

I really enjoy watching Wings games but don't stay up enough to properly evaluate some of the young talent like some around here. We've needed some solid defensemen for 3 or 4 years now to be a true contender and it just never seems to happen. I like the fact we have tons of junior talent and a glut of forwards but Kenny needs to decide who is trade bait and pull the trigger on a couple defensemen that can make a difference if he is going to continue to fail in FA. I hear some of the same names year after year after year in our system and they just never seem to translate to functional players. Last year at the start of the season people were telling me Nyquist needed more time in GR, in fact he just needed to play. I'm not sure Green is the guy but its clear our defense as is will hold this team back and we are going no where fast.

We seem to be trapped with an endless supply of future stars that never play for the Wings yet are untouchable entities for trading to make the team better every year and a GM constantly in need of making a trade and kicking the tires yet never pulls a trigger. I personally think we need a GM that can evaluate the guys we will build around and weed out some of the lesser talent to make the team competitive to hoist a cup or two in the near term.

Holland trading for Defense this year will be just like last years Holland trading to get rid of the glut of forwards...it just never happens. Holland washed his hands of free agency when he re-signed Quincey. It was his way of saying there we're set. Every year whether at the trade deadline or free agency we wait for a big move and it just never comes. I hope no one is waiting this year, it won't happen until we get a new GM.

I don't blame Holland for Parise/Suter not being signed but this team has been in need of retooling for years and nothing has been done. Last years fiasco really brought the issue into full view when we had a glut of solid forwards and Kenny was still out signing Cleary. We desperately needed a trade last year and early this year to trade some talent away up front and solidify the blue line yet nothing continues to be done. After losing out on every big name defenseman in FA Kenny proceeds to sign Quincey in a statement that says screw it we'll just stay pat and do nothing. This is a team with no rudder and no vision. Nothing will happen with this team until we get a GM that is capable of building off the talent we have, if I was a FA I'd stay away from this mess as well.

Every other free agent analyzed on NHLN last night was tied to perhaps Detroit being a destination because our roster is weak and in need of upgrade. I disliked Kenny more and more as the trade deadlines have come and gone through the years. Free agency and the caliber of talent he has been tied to has been ridiculous, the NTC's associated with most were a joke. Today was just flat out embarrassing. I was excited about the season until seeing this display of inaction.

If Totoo could play elsewhere he wouldn't have cleared waivers. Never understood the mini enforcer signing and equally don't understand those who think he might go elsewhere to play next. I get that some love the guy for some reason but he had no place on this or any other NHL team this year.

I think before we decide what to do with Frazen we need to clean house at the top. Holland has run his course as the GM and the last few years have been brutal. I see no solution to guys like Franzen, ToToo, Samuelsson, Cleary, Bertuzzi on and on until we have someone sharp enough to set us on a winning course. Holland seems very happy with the status quo and the plug and play routine of underperforming veterans hoping to get a final playoff spot to call the season a success. Every year the young guys are the future is the anthem of Holland and a good majority on the board yet the people we pair them with and the foundation of this team rest on guys who just don't perform. Franzen is the poster child and a microcosm of what troubles the Wings. He needs to go and we need a GM to make some serious trades and provide guidance going forward until then its wash and repeat.

This season was a waste when we played with ToToo, Samuelsson, Bertuzi and Cleary prior to the season start and didn't address defense. . Holland has been incapable of making trades or acquiring talent unless the talent was Michigan bred and wanting to play for the winged wheel. The team has been in decline the last few years with no rudder or vision for the long term. I have no issue with weeding out some of the young talent we don't want or won't need in trade for solid proven players...Ryan, Vanek etc....but this move was desperation and is more of the same. Holland lost me last year and I stopped watching once the debacle of the opening roster was produced. Sorry Kenny I still hate you as a GM.

I think we should target a GM that can actually make a trade.

Still can't believe a few weeks ago guys were telling me next year would be their year and to give them time. So clear these guys should have been starting from game 1.

Holland will sign more losers long term and the young kids everyone wants to see will sit in GR. The only way we build a decent team going forward at this point is addition by subtraction. Get rid of Holland and we can start the change, until then I think this team is rudderless.

I'll start watching the Wings again when they get serious about putting the best team on the ice and axe dead weight. Holland and Detroit seem complacent to keep talent down and expect support for watching the crap they put on the ice. Nyquist 2014?? Really? If this is a business decision they are very poor businessmen.

Good riddance should have never been a Wing. Tired of hearing about the needed enforcer standing at a stout 5"9" and never cracking the line-up. Holland has been clueless the last few years and has no direction or plan whatsoever. I'd have more faith in some of the regulars around here building a team for the future than Holland.

Hope no one is seriously holding their breath waiting for a trade. I think we are stuck with the crappy line-up in place for the foreseeable future.

We've needed a meaningful trade for the last three years...why start now. We like our team....believe in the younger talent coming up through the system blah, blah, blah.

At some point you just get what you deserve. The team is worse for not signing Bruner, having Nyquist in the minors and playing head games with Tartar. Everyone gushes with how great Holland is yet all of us saw the mess months ago and he has done nothing. If you seriously go into the year with Cleary, Emmerton, Samuelsson, Tootoo and Bertuzzi as answers how can you be shocked with the results. The clock is running on Datsyuk and I have yet to see moves that will change the coming result.

This is really embarrassing, knew it would happen. The real joke is thinking all those years near the deadline Holland may make a move...youth movement blah, blah, blah. Holland hid behind protecting the young guys and the prospects as his out for never pulling the trigger and now that its their time we pass on Bruner, give Sammy a NTC and sign guys who need to be replaced putting the kids we need on the roster in jeopardy. Whatever Holland your spring golf league can start early again. Idiot...I'm done wondering what Kenny will do screw him.

We have no hope in actually formulating a trade and executing it now right? If Cleary is gone Holland has no motivation whatsoever.
