The New York Rangers have been trying to shake up their roster, but GM Glen Sather hasn't been able to pull the trigger on a trade. Sather has been actively shopping defenseman Michael Del Zotto, and the Ottawa Sun reports blueline Dan Girardi is also available. Girardi, 29, is in the final year of his current contract and can become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The NHL is currently in a roster freeze, which is lifted at 12:01 am, Dec. 28. Several teams have expressed an interest in Del Zotto, but the Rangers are looking for upgrades and want to package Del Zotto in a deal for a top-tier player. According to the Sun, the Rangers are willing to entertain calls for just about anyone except Rick Nash, Henrik Lundqvist and Chris Kreider. The Rangers had been fielding calls for Kreider earlier in the season, but it appears he's no longer on the block. In the past Detroit had some good (above average) goalies with the great DEF. Our goalies were paid "cheap" (beside Hasek/Cujo) but the team was build with the All Star DEF... Now we have a very good goalie who's getting paid big money and we have no DEF...

I don't think that having an enforcer will prevent injuries... but at the same time having a player like Gazdic (young Croatian) on the 4th line would be more than welcome. We need "BALLS" : Ott, Gleason seems to be available... that could be a start... bring back Tootoo... go bigger on the bottom 6, I.E. Matt Martin... Ideal lines: Tatar - Dats - Z Alf - Franzen - Nyquist Martin - Helm - Bert Someone who can really fight - Abdelkader - Tootoo Weiss; trade him to Buffalo for Ott and filler Kronwall - E DeKe - Gleason Smith - McQuaid

Ericsson "went" after McL right after his hit on Kronwall... and after that game he was out with the shoulder injury... He has no balls and this team is really missing some muscles. I don't expect Kenny to trade for the size and muscles... he will "adressed" it during the summer with FA's and in september, we will have the same team without BALLS... Good luck with staying healthy
