Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans

so does he become a free agent available for signing immediately or does he have to wait until july 1st.? seems to me that he should fall into the playoff rules of trading/signing. hudler is a red wing until july 1st. when his contract ends...but schultz ends a week early. is he up for grabs first?
-
i like your thinking! add in brunner to the minors with a 2 way. that kid has moves! resembles datsyuk/jurco but faster.

i doubt they would part with vanek....but who saw the hasek deal coming? stafford would also be nice. that team has always been fast and difficult to deal with.

Is the Stanley Cup really the hardest trophy in all of pro sport?
luvmnger replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
that was brilliant. i gave up on football in the late 80's. the dancing around and celebrating for doing their job...you know, like tackle someone...was too much for me. i noticed that football was akin to chess, with overweight, barely mobile "athletes". sure they can bench 4000lbs. but they would be zombie snacks if they ever had to run. to me, this became part sport, part human insanity. my role models will never be, pink fuzzy jacket guys, entourage equipped, overweight sumo types, dog fight organizers, third person conversationalist, or super prima donnas that lost their reality. Americas obsession with mediocrity has wore thin on my senses. -
i'll second that ...and up the ante with a schultz signing.

favorite wing never to win the cup in Detroit

no question in my mind.... DINO!..... BAMBINO! i still here the chants...guy had balls! how about this one! -
i dig the trade rights idea....big time. Anaheim doesn't have a leg to stand on with schultz....and don't have the market cornered with landing Stuart either. makes sense for all parties. 2 way contract...#7/8 d-man with kindl how can the kid balk at one year away from the D organ-i-zation. his first year of NHL adjustment could burn him if he goes full time with someone else. the only way this wont work is if Stuart says no to Anaheim move. hmmmm.

ya know...shea weber has lost his credibility with me, and not just for the Z hit. the wings run a classy organ-i-zation and i dont think he is worthy. yea, yea, he is good, big shot ,tough, etc... but i dont think he is Wing material. he is a pronger, a ulf sammuelsson, a meat head with a good stick. he is my list that i would pick over him to put in the wings lineup. in no particular order...each one brings something to the table that trumps the idea of weber. (to me) suter seabrook ekman larsson ( my personal favorite) chara volchenkov streit mcdonagh enstrom bogozian hedman wideman pietrangelo j.johnson doughty burns yandle garrison (to me he is a future top 2) i would even go out on a limb and insert schultz in that list, but he is yet unproven. so my personal answer to the weber situations is....NO. no draft picks, no offer, no free agent, no trade.

i wanted more options.... parise......replace hudler suter.......replace lidas shultz......replace kindl brunner.....replace mursak konopka.....replace holmstrom garrison....replace stuart vokoun,harding,clemmensen...replace conklin/macdonald emmerton, kindl, mursak traded for picks at he draft time to restock the shelf!
-
watching his highlights he reminds me of kovalchuk/fedorov. fast...tricky...determined...wicked wrister...right hander...got size. definitely worth the gamble. he seems to be "off the radar" in all the NHL news... schultz brunner parise suter konopka where do we put them all! hahaha!

If you could pick any 23 players in the NHL to start a franchise with
luvmnger replied to a topic in General
thanks...i tried to contact Bob Mackenzie to get the idea circulating....but...i failed. i think it would be a great new twist and give the game some life. -
I'll be the 1st to admit that I'm not the most informed when it comes to Red Wing prospects, but from what I've seen/read - there's not alot of high-end talent coming up...I really do hope I'm wrong. Agreed. And to think the Oilers with all their top picks may become a top-end team for several years while our beloved Red Wings slowly slide down the ranks...Retro 80's anyone? well you can keep that little tid bit to yo-self, pal. we dont speak like that up here. hehehehe. we're like France ....it never happened.

thats what i am talking about for an all-star game...over/under 25 years old. (or 24 years old) i think that would put some kick in the "lame game" kids bringin it...old guys wont stand for it. talk about braggin rights. -
this is a potential list of UFA players....what would you do? Kelly c Konopka c Pahlsson c Stoll c Bitz rw Prust rw Stewart rw Boyes rw Semin rw Doan rw Parenteau rw Stempniak rw Winnik lw Pyatt lw Parise lw Brunner lw Paille Suter d Garrison d Carle d Wideman d Schultz d Foster d Boychuk d Bouillon d Rozsival d Beauchemin d Martin Biron g Josh Harding g Al Montoya g Brent Johnson g Tomas Vokoun g Jonas Gustavsson g Evgeni Nabokov g

you are speaking my language now! hell yea!

he is listed on the 2012 list at sportscity.com but capgeek doesnt have him on it...i bet your right.
-
jokinen is a UFA but i have never been high on him. he seems to me to be a floater "franzenlike" and not much heart. the stewart part i am a fan of though. brings heart, determination, and a rugged edge.
