signed Red Wings sign D Kent Huskins to 1-year, $750k contract
luvmnger replied to Jedi's topic in General
i like this signing. i would have also been in on redden. considering the price, pro-rated season, injuries potential. defense is the single most expensive piece of real estate to move for in the league. if you can get decent quality for cheap, get it. speaking of our gm,maybe kenny has a line on dekeyser coming.... -
GM Ken Holland says Red Wings might not make playoffs this year
luvmnger replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
it doesn't feel too promising...but if your gonna tank a year for a pick...this would be it. -
yea! eaves is a favorite of mine. great news!

this...would be good for the wings. he is loved in boston. never gonna happen.

Teams Must Comply with 23man Roster Limit by Tomorrow
luvmnger replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
me too....he had hustle and liked to create chaos. can you imagine... conner, helm and tootoo together. wow...buzz saw line. -
this is what happens when a good player gets in a bad situation. cleary didnt produce what the blackhawks expected from his "status" cheechoo changed chemistry, production fell, return wasn't worth investment gomez inflated value, chemistry/confidence changed...return not worth investment chemistry / confidence screw those up and most humans fold up shop. i would even give yashin, krupp, dipietro a flyer when considering this. ( give me a chance to explain) take osgood for example...put him in the rangers org. on draft day. would he be the same guy? here is a solid goalie, albeit, not top level, but the chemistry, organization, helped him achieve what he is today. rafalski wasnt drafted...spent his young years in europe. no one saw talent until the devils took a "chance" most of us in our day to day lives, if given the chance, could change companies to find the right atmosphere, would see that the company you keep, changes everything. point being, i would give redden a shot. for the price of $1 mil. or less, he would be another low risk , high reward. at $6 mil....forget it pal. good player...not that good. we all do it everyday....best car..lowest price, nice clothes, clearance rack...$.99 value meal well....redden is on the clearance rack...$.99 i'd buy that.

too high of a price tag for him IMO. start lower. first off...acquire a solid contributor for back up D ( campoli / jurcina) then i would kick the tires on OEL (i know...its a reach) bogozian visnovsky jack johnson ( another reach) yandle but you never know...get a general manager off his meds at the right time.... BINGO!

punky brun-ster wow...i am old. brun in the oven that shot was "brun & done"
-
brunner does this occasionally....this would be bad. he wants to make the highlight reels....but not this way.

i hear you loud and clear! as everyone knows...albuquerque is a HOTBED of hockey players/fans as well...so when i see a jersey, ( any team except pens, and avalanche) i give them a nod of understanding/chat. but for the record i have seen 1 whaler jersey, 1 senator jersey,1 sabres,2 blues, 2 kings, a few stars, pens, avalanche, and an ass load of WINGS! so the red is rocking the desert fo-shur.

the teams that swing in and out of contention would have the biggest bandwagon members. if a team stays stable...even if they suck, would keep their loyal base. if the team rises in the standings, has a spike of success, then you get bandwagon types. it happens in all sports no matter what. the only time it bugs me is when gangbangers wear them to be cool.

Would you trade Jimmy Howard for an elite forward/defenseman?
luvmnger replied to shoobiedoobin's topic in General
too many parameters to consider. timing and offer are big motivators. -
a stud goalie is supposed to take a team on the edge of greatness..over it. so whats he gonna do in toronto? hehehehe.
-
give free agents campoli and milan jurcina a look in camp. both D-men, both had decent seasons last year. give kindl and carlo some competition for the 6-7-8th spots on D we got more offense than we know what to do with. i just hope we can see eaves again.
-
as of last year he was being shuttled in and out of the minors. yandle is there top guy. hey, i can hope ...right?
-
i am all in on the potential for oliver ekman larsson he moves like rafalski. and stays calm like lidas. just sayin.... coyotes have a habit of losing good players. hint hint
-
the biggest thing i was worried about....no season would have put brunner on the free market. the biggest fear about there being a season....no lidas / disco stu. here we go!
-
i believe buy outs can only happen to active players....Savard /Pronger/ Eaves are on long term, therefore disconnected from the cap and on insurance protection. once the are cleared a good bill of health, they would then be put on waivers, or roster space be made for said player. i dont believe they can be released, per union rules of disability. its like being fired while injured. i dont even think that Uwe Krupp got fired for "bad back=dogsled injury". ( lawyered up)

as some report are coming in, the possibility exists that all contracts may become void causing a mass UFA situation. now this opens up all kinds of trouble. small markets folding up shop, players exodus to teams to play with close friends, family, massive retirements or overseas contracts. so to simplify my question...who stays in detroit for family...who leaves (specify reason) and who wants to play in detroit? my first guess.... ryan miller wants in to play with brother in home state. z , pav, kronwall, howard, helm, remain in detroit. if 3 or more teams fold....abdelkader, bertuzzi, tootoo, emmerton out of league.
-
wow...this thread got off topic fast! if this all happened....other teams will go after the "free to good home" players. the solid, family oriented, tired of moving, niche players, that want to stay...will. the hired guns, wash outs, unloved, and single guys will be up for auction. the players will call their own shots....all 30 teams call, one gets them. i think z stays....brunner comes along with z, pav stays, helm is actually the wild card. a whole lot of teams will beg him to join, as well as kronwall. they fill seats with their level of excitement. who doesnt love the top 10 hits by kron? ( except the guys hit...of course.) ovechkin will move....stamkos, probably, st.louis, maybe. but now were into chemistry, friends, and surroundings playing a big part. if we thought the parise/suter situation was nuts...wait for this one.

har...har...har...

right now he has more bang for the buck than nash, couture, thornton, and bergeron. i think the competition is quite lacking in the swiss league, but as long as he doesn't get killed in the first month of playing in the winged wheel, we should have ourselves a bona fide scorer. how much...is the question. doesnt that helmet put a big fricking target on you? try that in the NHL and kronwall can go hunting for keeps!

its good for the casual fix....but the damn commercials are the same...and soooooo long. not just get a snack long....they're make dinner long.
