    Yeah, just posted on another board with pretty much the same scenario. This is pretty much what HAS to be done to salvage next season. Trading for Ryan/Nash will be impossible, considering what we'll have to give up to trade for Yandle. As soon as business starts tomorrow, he should hammer Maloney's phone, trying to make it happen. If he doesn't, I guarantee someone else will.

    Fair point. Have had this avatar for the last 3 years, maybe time for a change . In all honesty, I was as pissed at the Bert extension as the next guy. In a few years, we're looking at most of our core guys being mid to late 30's!

    Well guys, don't expect Holland to be doing much else this off-season, if what he said in this canada.com article hold true. Here are some particular gems: Has this guy just lost it? Is he in denial or just that out of touch? We're STILL a playoff contender, given how the team is now? Is that a joke? Need to rely on Quincey and Ericsson developing? They're gonna solve our defensive issues? And apparently, despite the departure of two of our top D-men, we only need ONE defenseman. Can not understand how people still stand behind this guy.

    I think Doan would have been a great choice, in place of Sammy. A go-to, tough power forward who can score goals. Would have been GREAT. But, alas, since we decided to go down the Sammy rout again, I don't think our lineup can afford yet ANOTHER player entering his twilight. We need youth. Take a one year shot at Semin. Trade for Ryan and Yandle. Sign Carle to replace Stuart. That's the best I think of at this point. Other than that, just TANK next season and hope for 1st pick.

    Yeah, I take responsibility for a lot of that. Just seeing that source say the Wings, I really wanted it to be true so damn bad.... But yeah, the truth has slapped us pretty hard this morning.

    Not to be super depressive and pessimistic but.......well....., considering Brian Lawton played with Suter's agent Neil Sheehy on the Caps together, and Brian's the one saying Suter is now a member of the Wild, I'd say odds are definitely not looking in our favor.

    True. If we were to fail to get a high quality defenseman, I would rather see Holland just stand pat and not do much else, except maybe 1-year temp deals just to get us through the season. Basically, simply prepare for to restack for next year. I'm really worried that Holland will instead throw some long term contract at one of the "B" players, just to help fill the roster. Like I said, if it can be done for a 1 year term, I'd be fine but other than that, we are better off saving the funds for next FA. I really think it was Suter or bust this year.

    Yeah but this guy's an NHL agent and former General Manager. I take his word in a heartbeat over some anonymous twitter account. Heart is seriously racing, it looks pretty legit.... Unless his account was hacked? I mean, he's the first reputable source to say it's done.

    Our core is aging. How long will he get to play with Dats and Hank before they're gone? This kid is still a pup. I'm sure he wants to play on a team where he'll play with the same guys for quite a while. Just what I think.

    Well, we'll know regardless in a few days anyway. After putting over 90% on these deals, if he gets even ONE wrong, he's lost all credibility. However, if he's right, I think we've finally found a legit Hockeybuzz.

    Understand about the Twitter citing, but Insiderr guy is calling 95%​ on Suter to Detroit. He's soon either gonna look brilliant, or become the next Eklund. Oh and he's also saying 90% for Parise to Pens .
